        학습 환경에 따른 한국어 접촉 양상이 구어 유창성 발달에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was twofold: 1) to investigate L2 fluency development of Thai students learning Korean in KSL and KFL contexts, and 2) to explore variables that would affect their L2 fluency gains. For data collection, this study asked 11 Thai learners in Korea and 21 learners in Thailand to perform a pre-speaking task at the beginning of a 10-week Korean course and a post-speaking task at the end of the course. This study also employed the LCP questionnaire to analyze influential factors on the participants’ L2 fluency development, inspecting their speech rate, hesitation-free speech run, and fluent run development. The main findings include: (i) KSL students significantly had more Korean speaking activities than KFL students, while KFL students significantly had more Korean writing activities than KSL students, (ii) Both KSL and KFL students showed their L2 speech rate development after taking the course, though there is no significant L2 fluency gain, (iii) Multiple regression analyses revealed KSL students’ speaking activities influenced their L2 speech rate development, while KFL students’ writing activities influenced their L2 speech rate development.

        태국의 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어 읽기 교재 개발 연구

        The purpose of this study is to introduce the principles and the practice of developing Korean reading textbook series for high beginners and intermediate-level learners in Thailand. The textbook series consists of five content areas (Korean nature, Korean life, Korean history, Korean economy and society, and Korean culture). This study takes the domain topic of Korean nature as an example for proposing development principles and procedures, and chapter composition. As this textbook is aimed at learners who choose Korean as a second language in Thai secondary schools, the foreign language curriculum of the Thai Ministry of Education and the Korean language curriculum for primary and secondary schools overseas of the Korean Ministry of Education were reviewed to prepare teaching guidelines. The textbook development principles put emphasis on developing learner-centered localized textbooks, improving learners‘ Korean reading skills and expanding language skills, cultivating cognitive skills and growing into global citizens, and securing learners‘ access to textbooks and ease of learning. This textbook, developed to facilitate learners‘ access to data, is published as an interactive e-book available on various devices to support autonomous learning.

        L2 대학생 한국어 학습자의 의사소통능력 영역별 학습 전략 사용 양상

        This research investigates language lstrategies focusing on the four domains of communicative competence. A survey was conducted among 421 participants in three different countries over three years using Language Strategy Use Inventory. The quantitative data from the survey was analyzed using univariate ANOVAs and Pearson correlation in SPSS 24. The findings are as follows: 1) The greatest frequency of strategies appeared in the category of discourse competence followed by strategic competence, grammatical competence, and then sociolinguistic competence. 2) The analysis of strategies according to the variables of learners revealed that grammatical competence is influenced by Korean study place; sociolinguistic competence is influenced by gender, overseas study experience, Korean study place, graduation/schooling country, KFL/KSL, and heritage status; strategic competence is influenced by gender; and discourse competence is not influenced by any factors.
