        영어 독해과제와 영어 독해전략 선택간의 관련성 조사

        L2 professionals argue that the use of reading strategies is an important factor in achieving reading fluency. Cognitivists in L2 education claim that the inventory of L2 reading strategies is useful for students to understand and utilize diverse reading strategies. However, sociolinguists reject the claim by arguing that because the choice of strategies will be influenced by characteristics of reading tasks, the inventory is not helpful unless it explains reading tasks. With this background, this study (n =10) was intended to explore the relationship between the choice of L2 reading strategies and reading tasks. For data collection, three methods―a survey with a questionnaire, reading tasks, and oral interviews―were employed. The questionnaire assessed the degrees of the participants’ use of reading strategies. The reading tasks were designed to stimulate the participants to use certain strategies dependent on their perceptions of L2 reading goals. Finally, the interviews aimed to clarify what reading strategies each participant utilized during the tasks. According to the data analysis, it seemed likely that most of the participants chose to use certain strategies according to their perceptions of L2 reading goals. At the end of this study, some suggestions for L2 reading instruction were made.

        대상지배적/행동지배적 언어유형론과 영어와 한국어 복수표지의 상호작용

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the interaction between the linguistic typology of object-dominant vs. action-dominant languages and plural markers in English and Korean. This paper argues that the ‘deul’ marked elements induce the pluralities of eventuality in Korean and that the pluralities of eventuality have something to do with the verb-centered characteristic of action-dominant languages. The followings are discussed in this paper. First, the plural marker ‘deul’ for nouns produces the distributive readings, which activates the repetitive or plural eventualities. Second, the presences of ‘deul’ marker for adverbs and verbs in a sentence can be accounted for by the notion of plural eventuality, which supports the action-dominant function of a ‘deul’ marker. Third, the ‘deul’ marker applied to non-count nouns demonstrates that the main function of the marker is to mark the plural eventualities rather than the plural entities. Fourth, the plural or repetitive event readings for plural subjects in English are derived from the implicatures from the restricted verbal classes and aspects of the predicates and the distributive readings of the predicates.

        외국인 학습자를 위한 한국어 호칭어 교육 연구

        The purpose of this study is to construct a selection flowchart of Korean Terms of Address so that Korean learners can be familiar with Korean Terms of Address types and determinants, and use them appropriately in real life. In order to accomplish this goal, building on previous literature, we first classified educational types and lists of Korean Terms of Address into 6 categories: `Name`, `Title`, `Family`, `Family Substitute`, `Generic`, and `Caution Ventilation`. Next, we analyzed the determining factors of Korean Terms of Address in such ways as `Age`, `Family Tree`, `Title`, `Sex`,`Marriage`, `Acquaintance`, `Situation`, `Relative`, and `Occupation`. Last, based on this, we proposed a selection flowchart of the Korean Terms of Address consisting of a series of selectors and pathways. This study has pedagogical consequences: it enables Korean learners to understand the determinants that affect Korean Terms of Address, with the help of a selection flowchart that includes a set of selectors and pathways. This in turn helps them to cultivate communicative ability to use the Korean Terms of Address more easily and appropriately depending on situations.

        한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 평가기준과 교재 분석

        This research is a textbook analysis on the valuation basis of Test Of Proficiency In Korean (TOPIK). This research involves three goals. The first goal is to confirm whether Korean language textbooks for foreign students reflect a valuation basis on TOPIK or not in both macro and microscopic perspective. The second goal is to reconstruct one chapter to reinforce the connectivity between the textbook and the valuation basis on TOPIK. The third goal is to materialize the valuation basis on TOPIK. For these goals, we chose and analyzed three Korean language textbooks from Kyunghee University, Korea University and Yonsei University. And then, we selected one chapter of each textbook and measured its valuation basis on TOPIK in three levels: high, medium, and low. After that, we tried to modify the selected chapters to increase the connectivity between the textbook and the valuation basis on TOPIK. The finding of this research is that Korean language textbooks need to be properly modified in consideration of the connectivity with the valuation basis on TOPIK. Also, the materialization of the valuation basis on TOPIK is necessary.

        An Analysis of Sentence Types in Korean and Russian Television Commercials

        본 논문에서는 한국과 러시아의 텔레비전 광고를 다루었다. 광고를 고액의 비용을 들여서 내보내는 광고주의 의도는 자사의 상품을 시청자로 하여금 구매하도록 설득하는 것이다. 광고를 통한 구매설득전력이 어떻게 펼쳐지고 있는지를 연구하려는 것이 이 논문의 목적이라고 할 수 있다. 이 논문은 주로 광고의 형식과 내용, 그리고 문장의 형식을 중심으로 한국과 러시아의 텔레비전 광고를 서로 비교함으로써 두 나라의 광고에서 채택하고 있는 흥미로운 사실을 밝히고자 시도하였으며, 두 나라에서 각기 사용하고 있는 언어학적으로 특이한 현상이 무엇인지 찾아보려고 했다. 연구의 결과 한국의 광고는 러시아의 광고보다 비교적 더 간접적인 구매 설득 전략을 펴고 있으며, 또한 한국의 광고는 러시아의 광고보다 비교적 더 오락적인 기능을 겸하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구의 결과를 표로 정리하면 아래와 같다. 〈이미지 참조〉
