Obesity increases the risk of many adult diseases, such as atherosclerosis, diabetes, hypertension, ischemic heart disease and breast cancer. Inhibition of adipogenesis is an effective way in the anti-obesity management. Because of main components of Saururus chinensis is flavonoid, it has been showed some improvement by its antioxidant effects on the atherosclerosis, heart disease and diabetic hyperlipidemia. But mechanism of anti-obesity effect of S. chinensis is not clear. We investigated the effects of ethanol extracts of S. chinensis on adipogenesis in the 3T3-L1 pre-adipocyte. The 3T3-L1 cell line is commonly used to study adipogenesis in vitro. In this study, ethanol extracts of S. chinensis significantly decrease the lipid accumulation in the 3T3-L1 cells proved by measuring triglyceride contents and Oil red O staining. The proposed mechanism of inhibition of adipogenesis in the 3T3-L1 cells with ethanol extracts of S. chinensis is down-regulation of transcriptional factors and adipocytespecific genes such CCAAT/enhancer binding protein α (C/EBPα) and Peroxisome proliferator activated receptor γ (PPARγ) in concentration dependent pattern. These results suggest that ethanol extracts of S. chinensis inhibits adipognesis in the 3T3-L1 cells and can be used as a safe and efficient natural substance to manage anti-obesity.

몰트만(J. Moltmann)의 부활 이해: 통전적 성격을 중심으로

본 연구는 몰트만의 주요 저서들을 중심으로 그의 부활에 대한 통전적 이해의 구조와 성격을 분석한다. 또한 한국교회에서의 실천적 적용을 고찰함으로써 그 신학적 의의를 평가하고자 한다. 기독교 신앙의 핵심이요 토대로서의 부활 신앙은 몰트만의 신학을 구성하는 결정적 요소이다. 그에 의하면 예수 그리스도의 부활은 역사적 사건이면서 동시에 실존적 체험 속에서 해석된 신앙의 사건이다. 또한 약속의 형식을 지닌 삼위일체 하나님의 계시 사건일 뿐 아니라 종말론적 구원의 사건이다. 특히 종말론적 새 창조의 선취로서의 부활은 몰트만의 부활 이해의 초석이다. 무엇보다도 몰트만에게서는 하나님 나라의 지평에서 바라본 부활의 통전적 성격이 두드러지게 나타난다. 부활은 전인적 성격을 지니며 동시에 개인적이고 정치적이며 우주적인 차원을 갖는다. 몰트만의 부활의 전인적 차원에 대한 강조는 한국교회의 목회 현장에서 필수적이다. 신자로 하여금 죽음 이후의 삶에 대한 기대와 함께 현세적 삶을 긍정하고 신체적이고 물질적인 삶의 가치를 존중할 수 있도록 해주기 때문이다. 더 나아가 몰트만의 부활 이해는 단지 개인적인 차원만이 아닌 공적인 성격을 지닌다. 그리스도의 부활은 종말론적 승리에 근거한 죄와 불의와 고난과 죽음의 세력에 대한 항거와 이를 위한 제자도의 실천과 관련되어 있다. 또한 부활은 역사적 사건만이 아니라 우주적 사건으로 해석되어야 한다. 이런 맥락에서 몰트만의 부활 이해는 우리에게 생태학적 책임과 과제를 요청한다. 몰트만의 부활 이해에 근거한 희망의 종말론은 현실세계의 사람들에게 역동적인 힘을 제공하며 역사와 세계에 대한 강한 책임의식 속에서 살아가게 한다. 따라서 부활신앙은 기독교적 실천의 동력이 된다. 이런 몰트만의 부활 이해는 오늘날 왜곡되거나 편향된 구원관으로 인해 건강하지 못한 모습을 보이고 있는 한국교회를 위한 성찰과 개혁의 소중한 자원이 될 수 있다. 성서적이고 복음적이며 균형 잡힌 삶과 신앙의 방향을 제시하고 있기 때문이다. This study analyzes the structure and characteristics of Moltmann’s holistic understanding on resurrection based on his major works. It also aims to evaluate the significance of his theology by examining its practical application in the Korean Church. Resurrection as the core and basis of the Christian faith is the crux of Moltmann’s theology. According to him, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a historical event while being at the same time an event of faith interpreted in existential experience. Moreover, it is the event of revelation of the triune God in the form of promise as well as being an eschatological event of salvation. Resurrection as the eschatological anticipation of the new creation is fundamental to Moltmann’s understanding of resurrection. The holistic nature of resurrection as viewed from the horizon of the kingdom of God is foremost and prominent. Resurrection is holistic in nature-that is, it involves the entire whole of a person-while also demonstrating personal, political, and cosmic dimensions. Moltmann’s emphasis on the holistic nature of resurrection is essential in the ministry fields of Korean Church. It provides the believer with hope for life after death, while also affirming the earthly life and honoring the value of physical and material life. Furthermore, Moltmann’s understanding of resurrection provides not only individual but public nature. Christ’s resurrection implies resisting sin, injustice, suffering, and the power of death and as well as practicing discipleship in order to resist. Because resurrection is understood as both historical and cosmic event, Moltmann’s understanding invites and asks us to fulfill our ecological responsibilities and tasks. The eschatology of hope based on this understanding of the resurrection provides dynamic power for the people living in the real world and compels us to live with a due sense of responsibility for the history and the world. In this way, faith in the resurrection becomes the source and engine for every Christian practice. Because it provides orientation for biblical as well as evangelical and well-balanced life and faith, Moltmann’s understanding of the resurrection can provide valuable resources for reflection and reformation in today’s Korean Church that tends to show unhealthy symptoms from having a distorted or biased understanding of salvation.

본 논문은 몰트만의 통전적 구원론의 구조와 성격 및 내용을 분석하고, 특히 한국교회와 신학에서의 실천적 함의를 고찰함으로써 그 신학적 의의를 평가하고자 하는 것이다. 몰트만의 구원론은 비록 체계적인 저술의 방식을 띠고 있지 않지만 방대한 그의 저서 속에서 포괄적으로 다루어진다. 그의 구원론은 통전적 성격을 지닌다. 영혼과 육체의 전인적 구원, 개인과 사회의 구원, 인류와 피조물의 통전적 구원이 강조된다. 그의 구원론은 철저히 삼위일체적인 구조 속에서 전개되며, 죄와 속죄에 대한 통전적 해석을 기초로 하여 총체적이며 역동적인 차원의 구원의 과정 이해를 보여준다. 그는 전통적인 속죄의 개념을 현대적으로 재해석하고 칭의의 개념을 수정 보완하고자 하며 성화의 영역을 확대하고 성화의 차원을 다각적으로 심화하고자 노력한다. 현대신학자 중 그 누구보다도 몰트만에게서는 우주적 생태학적 구원의 차원이 비중 있게 다루어진다. 이러한 몰트만의 구원론은 특히 구원론에 관한 통전적 접근이 요청되는 한국교회와 신학계에 신선한 통찰력과 함께 소중한 자양분을 제공해준다. 영육 이원론에 근거한 건강하지 못한 신앙과 개인의 영혼구원에 초점이 맞추어져 있는 목회와 사회적?역사적?생태학적 책임에 소홀한 현금한국교회의 현실을 고려해 볼 때, 몰트만의 통전적 구원이해는 구원론 정립에 있어서 매우 의미 있는 기준과 방향성을 보여준다. 물론 상당히 부정적인 평가를 받고 있는 그의 만유구원론은 한국교회와 신학계가 일반적으로 쉽게 받아들일 수 없는 주장이며 여전히 논쟁적인 주제임을 부인할 수 없다. 또한 개인의 구원보다 사회구조적 차원의 구원에 더 비중이 주어진 것은 그의 구원론의 강점이면서 동시에 약점이라고 할 수 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 몰트만의 통전적 구원이해는 세계 신학계에 지대한 영향력을 미치고 있으며, 특히 에큐메니칼 진영과 복음주의 진영으로 양분되어 있는 한국교회의 구원이해에 비판적 근거와 과제를 안겨준다. 동시에 한국교회의 삶과 실천적 적용을 위한 방향을 제시하고 있다는 점에서 그 신학적 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 이렇게 몰트만의 통전적 구원론에 대한 체계적인 분석과 평가를 수행함으로써 본 연구는 한국교회와 신학의 삶과 실천적 적용을 위한 작은 발걸음을 내딛을 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. This paper seeks to evaluate the theological significance of Jurgen Moltmann`s holistic soteriology by analyzing its structure, nature and content, and by considering its implications for the Korean church and for Korean theology. Although Moltmann`s soteriology is not written in a systematic manner, it is comprehensively addressed in his extensive works. Moltmann`s soteriology is holistic in character. His soteriology emphasizes the salvation of the whole person(body and soul), the salvation of both the individual and society, and the holistic salvation of mankind and nature. Moltmann adheres to a strictly trinitarian structure in advancing his soteriology and demonstrates a generally dynamic understanding of the order of salvation(ordo salutis) based on a holistic interpretation of sin and atonement. He attempts to reinterpret the traditional notion of atonement and to revise and supplement the concept of justification, as well as to deepen the multilateral dimensions of and expand upon the realm of sanctification. More than any other contemporary theologian, Moltmann gives weight to the cosmic and ecological dimension of soteriology. Moltmann`s soteriology thus provides valuable nutrition, together with refreshing insight, for the Korean church and for Korean theology which call for a holistic approach especially with respect to soteriology. In view of the present reality of the Korean church, which suffers from unhealthy, mind?body dualism?based faith, ministries with undue emphasis on personal salvation of the soul, as well as neglect of social, historical and ecological responsibilities, Moltmann`s holistic understanding of salvation presents a very meaningful standard and orientation for the formation of soteriology. Needless to say, Moltmann`s universal salvation(Apokatastasis), which has been subject to considerable criticism, is not something that the Korean church and Korean theology can easily accept and thus continues to remain a matter of dispute. In addition, that Moltmann`s soteriology gives more weight to the dimension of social structure than to personal salvation, is not only a strength but simultaneously a weakness in his soteriology. Nevertheless, Moltmann`s holistic understanding of salvation has profoundly impacted world theology and in particular presents both a basis for criticism of and a challenge to the understanding of salvation in the Korean church. At the same time, Moltmann`s soteriology hold theological significance in that it proposes direction for life and practical application on the part of the Korean church. In thus carrying out a systematic analysis and evaluation of Moltmann`s holistic soteriology, this paper hopes to take a small step toward the practical application for the Korean church and for Korean theology.

평화통일신학의 형성과 과제

본 논문은 하나님나라 신학의 빛에서 평화통일신학의 근거와 성격 및 원리와 이념을 분석하고 그 실천적 과제를 탐구하는 것이다. 평화통일은 우리 시대에 주어진 한국교회의 민족적ㆍ역사적 사명이다. 동시에 하나님나라의 통치 실현이라는 궁극적 가치에 부합되는 것이다. 한민족의 통일은 배타적 민족주의를 지향하지 않으며 동북아와 세계의 평화에 이바지하는 길이다. 그런 의미에서 하나님나라 신학으로서의 평화통일신학은 비록 한국교회 상황에서 태동되고 발전된 신학적 운동이지만, 더 나아가 세계교회와의 연대와 협력을 통해 전개해가야 할 과제를 지닌다. 민족분단의 현실로부터 야기되는 비인간화, 비민주화, 정치적 억압, 경제적 불평등, 사회적 차별, 생태계의 파괴 등을 고려할 때 통일에 대한 무관심과 냉담은 하나님과 민족 앞에 죄악이다. 평화통일신학은 통일의 방법과 과정 및 궁극적 목표를 평화로 규정하며 그 어떤 폭력을 사용하는 것도 반대한다. 민족공동체의 치유와 회복은 참회와 용서의 과정을 통해 이루어 질 수 있으며 화해는 참회와 용서의 신학을 전제한다. 이런 의미에서 평화통일신학의 이념은 정의로운 평화와 화해와 치유 및 용서, 이웃사랑과 원수사랑 그리고 생명공동체이다. 한국교회는 한반도의 평화와 치유와 화해와 통일을 향한 행동에 참여해야 한다. 정전협정 62주년을 맞이하는 2015년 본 논문이 평화통일운동의 신학적 근거를 제시하고 평화통일신학 형성을 위한 방향을 제안함으로써 신학의 공적ㆍ역사적 책임을 수행하고자 한다. This paper explores the nature, foundation, the principles, and the practical issues regarding the theology of peaceful reunification in light of kingdom of God theology. The theology of peaceful reunification is the national-historical mission assigned to the Korean church of our time. Simultaneously, it corresponds to the ultimate value referred to as the realization of the sovereignty of the kingdom of God. The reunification of the Korean people does not support exclusive nationalism and contributes to peace in Northeast Asia and the world. In this respect, although the theology of peaceful reunification as a theology of the kingdom of God is a theological movement quickened and developed in the context of the Korean church, it bears the further task of continuing to progress and expand through solidarity and collaboration with the world church. Considering the dehumanization, anti-democratization, political oppression, economic disparity, social discrimination, destruction of ecosystems, etc. which arise out of the reality of national division, indifference and apathy with regard to reunification constitute sin before both God and people. Theology of peaceful reunification prescribes the method, process, and ultimate objective of reunification as peace, and opposes any and all use of violence. The healing and restoration of the national community becomes possible through the process of repentance and forgiveness, and reconciliation presupposes a theology of repentance and forgiveness. For this reason, the ideas behind the theology of peaceful reunification comprise just peace, reconciliation, healing and forgiveness, love of neighbors and enemies, and life community. The Korean church must participate in the action toward the peace, healing, reconciliation, and reunification of the Korean peninsula. In this year 2015, the 62nd year of the Korean Armistice Agreement, this paper seeks to fulfill its public and historical responsibility by presenting a theological basis for a peaceful reunification movement and by proposing a direction for the formation of a peaceful reunification theology.

한국에서 몰트만의 수용과 이해

본 논문은 몰트만이 한국에서 어떻게 수용되고 이해되어왔는지를 분석하고 평가하는 연구이다. 먼저 한국에서 이루어진 몰트만에 관한 소개와 연구를 역사적으로 고찰하고, 몰트만과 한국교회 및 신학과의 교류와 대화의 내용과 방식을 분석한 후, 최근까지 몰트만 신학사상이 한국 신학자들과 한국 신학 형성에 어떻게 수용되고 이해되어왔는지를 살펴본다. 특히 본 연구는 몰트만 신학의 6가지 핵심적 특성과 공헌들-역사책임적인 신학으로서 정치신학과 평화신학, 이해할 수 있는 삼위일체론과 삼위일체 신학의 실천성, 삶과 생명을 위한 메시아적 신학, 생태학적 우주적 신학, 종말론의 새로운 지평과 만유구원론, 하나님 나라를 지향하는 공적신학-이 한국교회와 한국 신학에 어떻게 영향을 미치고 있는지를 구체적으로 고찰한다. 결론적으로 몰트만이 한국의 교회와 신학에 미친 영향을 평가하고 미래방향성을 전망한다. 몰트만의 다양하고 독창적이며 통전적인 신학은 현대신학 논의에 상당한 기여를 하고 있을 뿐 아니라 한국교회와 신학에 지대한 영향을 미치고 있으며, 21세기 세계신학 형성을 위해 유익한 통찰력과 방향을 제시해준다. 한국교회는 그 어느 신학자보다도 몰트만을 가깝게 여기며 그의 신학을 수용하고 이해하는 일에 적극적이었다. 몰트만 역시 한국 교회를 사랑하며 한국 신학과 한국 신학자들에 대한 남다른 관심과 애정을 보여주었다. 몰트만은 오랫동안 한국인의 정치적 고난과 민중의 고통을 이해하고 연대하였다. 또한 한국교회의 열정과 선교, 활기찬 영성에 감동하면서 이를 자신의 신학 안에 수용하기도 하였다. 몰트만의 신학은 한국의 민중신학, 여성신학, 오순절신학, 통전적 신학 등에 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 몰트만과 한국교회와 한국신학은 지속적으로 깊은 교제와 연대를 통해 함께 성장해왔으며, 21세기 세계교회와 신학을 위해서도 함께 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 한국에서의 몰트만의 수용과 이해에 관한 역사적 고찰을 포함하고 있으며 이에 대한 신학적 분석과 평가를 비교적 종합적으로 다룬 연구로서의 가치를 지님으로써 앞으로 전개될 몰트만 신학 연구의 초석이 될 수 있으리라 기대한다. This paper is to analyze and evaluate how J. Moltmann has been received and understood in Korea. The presentations and researches on Moltmann conducted in Korea are first considered historically, then, the exchanges, dialogue contents and methods between Moltmann and Korean churches and theology are analyzed. Lastly, how Moltmann`s theological thoughts have been received and understood until recently by the Korean theologians in the formation of Korean theology are examined. This research particularly looks at the six core characteristics and contributions of Moltmann`s theology in details-Political theology and Peace theology as historically responsible theologies, the doctrine of the Trinity that can be understood and the practicability of the Trinity, Messianic theology for life, ecological and cosmic theology, a new prospect of eschatology and the universal salvation, Public theology aiming toward the Kingdom of God-and especially how these characteristics have affected the Korean churches and theology. In conclusion, this article evaluates how Moltmann has influenced Korean churches and theology and puts future directions into perspectives. Moltmanns` various, ingenious, holistic theology not only has made a significant contributions to the discussions of contemporary theology, but also had a profound effect on Korean churches and theology and presented valuable insights and directions for the formation of twenty-first century`s global theology. The Korean Church has had a regard for Moltmann than any other theologians and has been very enthusiastic in receiving and understanding his theology. Moltmann also loves the Korean Church and has shown special attention to and affection for the Korean theology and theologians. For a long time, Moltmann has understood and acknowledged the political sufferings and pains of Koreans. Moreover, he was moved by the passion, mission, and energetic spirituality of Korean churches, which he has accepted into his theology. Moltmann`s theology has made a great impact on the public theology, feminist theology, Pentecostal theology, and the Holistic theology of Korea. Moltmann and Korean churches and theology have been growing together through a long-continuing understanding and solidarity, and together, will be able to contribute to the ecumenism and theology of the 21st century. This study includes not only the historical considerations on the reception and understanding of Moltmann in Korea, but the comprehensive theological analysis and evaluation is valuable in research. They are expected to be a groundwork for the future study on Moltmann`s theology that will unfold.
