This study sought to examine the role of models as feedback to English composition in Korean EFL high school classrooms and to investigate the effects of two noticing-triggering activities (note-taking and underlining) on learners’ noticing and revision. To this end, six classes of 133 male senior students at high school in Busan were assigned to one of a note-taking group, an underlining group, and a control group. In stage 1, the participants were asked to write a narrative in response to a picture prompt, while taking notes on the problems they encountered. In stage 2, they were instructed to write down, underline, or just read whatever they noticed while they compared their own writing against three model texts. In stage 3, the participants were asked to write a second narrative based on the same picture prompt. The results suggested that while models as feedback to English composition were useful for drawing learners’ attention, the note-taking activities carried out when the learners compared their own composition and the model texts led to higher rate of the correction in the second draft. Pedagogical implications and direction for future studies are discussed.

Few studies have investigated the role of model writings as a form feedback in Korean EFL secondary school classrooms. Recognizing this research gap, this study attempted to investigate the effectiveness of model writings on high school students’ spontaneous noticing and revised draft. It also sought to examine the effects of two different noticing-triggering activities on the learners’ noticing and revised draft. To this end, 133 male senior high school students in six intact classes in Busan were randomly assigned to three groups: a note-taking group, an underlining group, and a control group. The results suggest that model writings contributed to promoting learners’ noticing regardless of noticing-triggering activities. However, the comparison on the revised drafts of the three groups showed that the note-taking group received statistically higher scores than the other two groups. Pedagogical implications and directions for further research are discussed.

Two kinds of simple active oscillators are proposed and analyzed assuming that operational amplifier has two-poles frequency characteristics. The first circuit is composed of one operational amplifier, one resistor and one grounded capacitor. The second oscillator is realized with one operational amplifier and three resitors. Proposed oscillators have the low sensitivity of the oscillation frequency for little variations of the passive element values. By the experimental results obtained with Op-Amp.?A741, the simple oscillators can be useful for the frequency range 1.25 KHz≤f? ≤400KHz for the active -R ocillator, and it is shown to transform the active-R oscillator circuit into the voltage controlled type.Therefore, two kinds of oscillators circuit are attractive for the IC realization, because they hve one operational amplifier, one resistor and one grounded capacitor, or three resistors.
