"Adolescence" is a critical period in the process of growing and aging but important in that an adolescent becomes aware of and begins to look about him or her self. Especially with girls in their late teens (1518), they pay more attention to their looks and clothes than the boys do, which affects to some extent the formation of their personality and their behavior. From this point of view, it is significant to establish the standard size of high-school girls' clothes. This study aims to measure high-school girls in size and to establish the standard size of their clothes; furthermore, to enable them to lead a satisfactory living with more appropriate size of .clothes. The results, analyzed by two different representing items which resulted in little difference, are as belows: 1) Stature had a significant correlation with posterior waist height; bust girth had the most significant correlation with weight, and also some considerable correlation with other representing items; 2) The F-test result showed significant difference on 1% level over all the items between the measured (Y) and the estimated (Y ); the correlation among the representing items was considerable also; 3) When the measurement increases in stature by 4cm, bust girth by 4cm, and posterior shoulder width by 2cm respectively, the increase or decrease in other items are as shown on Table 4. Since this study was carried out in girls' high-schools in Seoul, it is expected to extend its further study throughout the nation, thus contributing to comprehending the whole truth of people's body-size and promoting the fabrication and modelling of the original clothes for the nation by the strict standard size up to making ready-made clothes with no difficulty in setting the standard and model size.

This study was to examine the effects of garment types on thermal insulation using a thermal manikin. Cotton, polyester, wool, silk, and rayon were selected as outer wears like a blouse, a skirt, slacks and one-piece for this study. Acetate was chosen as a lining. Brief and upper innerwear with long sleeves(cotton) were also chosen as the innerwear. The results were as follows; 1. The thermal insulation of the garment of single layer was in proportion to the covering area of garment in all types of clothing. 2. On adding the innerwear or the lining or both, the thermal insulation of the each garment of single layer were showed a different trends by garment types. The thermal manikin insulations of one-piece dress adding the innerwear was higher than those of blouse-skirt suits. The thermal insulation of one-piece dress adding the lining or the innerwear and lining was lower than those of blouse-skirt suits. 3. The increasing rates of thermal insulation of multi-layered garments had different value by garment types but garment made of rayon and silk were showed very high increasing rates of thermal insulation. 4. The increasing rates of the thermal insulation of one-piece dress added the lining, the innerwear or both, except polyester, showed the highest value and then blouse-slacks suits turn came round. Blouse-skirt suits had the lowest the increasing rates of thermal insualtion value.
갈옷과 흰옷 및 그 의복형태의 차가 착용감에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to verify the advantages of Gal-Ot. Gal-Ot is defined the clothings dyed with persimmon juice. Firstly, the physical properties of fabrics were examined. Secondly, the wear tests were conducted. The wear tests were performed in climatic chamber controlled 30℃ air temperature, 50±5% RE and 0.2m/s air movement. Four women subjects participated in this experiment and 4 times experiments were performed per one subject. The experimental schedule was planned following 4 steps, that is, sedentary posture during 30 minutes-walking the 5˚slope treadmill by 70m/min during 20 minutes-sedentary posture during 20 minutes-standing posture on toward the blowing wind during 10 minutes. The results obtained is as follows: ① The insulation of fabric was increased with dyeing with persimmon juice. ② The air permeability of fabric was remarkably increased with dyeing with persimmon juice. ③ The mean skin temperatures of subjects were apt to be higher in wearing Gal-Ot than undyed clothing. ④ The clothing micro temperatures of subjects were slightly inclined to become lower in wearing Gal-Ot than undyed clothing. ⑤ The clothing micro humidity was decreased when the subjects wore Gal-Ot than wore undyed clothing. And then it brought about more comfortable on wear sensation. ⑥ The differences of physiological reactions were not consistent between clothing types except for sweat rate on the back. This result may be attributed the to complex experimental schdules consisted of four steps and to a little difference between open type and close type. However I consider that the clothing type of Gal-Ot is suitable for open type because Gal-Ot is summer wear for blocking the sultry heat.
