        폴리스티렌 라텍스 제조에 있어서 Triton X-100/SDS 계면활성제 혼합이 단량체/수용액 간의 계면물성 및 라텍스의 특성에 미치는 영향

        The blending effects of surfactants on the polystyrene emulsion polymerization were studied. The blending of Triton X-100 and SDS affects to the interfacial properties of the styrene monomer and water phases, and finally, the properties of the polystyrene latex particles. As the blending ratio of SDS/Triton X-100 increases, the interfacial tension and CMC of the blended surfactants were decreased and results in a reducing the size of the latex particles. It was found that the interfacial tension was reduced when the surfactant were blended. By increasing the SDS content, the interfacial tension was reduced, and, at a certain condition, the interfacial tension was reached to an extremely low value to form micro-emulsion and the nano-sized latex particles (80∼110 nm).

        CO<sub>2</sub>/CH<sub>4</sub> 분리를 위한 프로필렌카보네이트/물 흡수제 특성 평가 및 막접촉기의 적용

        바이오 가스로부터 바이오 메탄을 생산하기 위해 물리흡수제 특성평가 및 $CO_2/CH_4$흡수 연구를 진행하였고, poly-propylene(PP) 중공사막 막접촉기에 적용해보았다. 물리흡수제 중 propylene carbonate (PC)는 PP 중공사막과 가장 높은 $58.3^{\circ}$ 접촉각을 보였고, 5 wt% PC를 물과 혼합할 경우 $90^{\circ}$ 이상의 접촉각이 관찰되었다. 또한 $CO_2$ 흡수실험에서 PC/물 혼합 흡수제는 물 흡수량(0.121 mmol/g) 보다 높은 0.148-0.157 mmol/g의 흡수량을 보이며, 막접촉기에 가장 적합한 물리흡수제로 선정되었다. PC/물 혼합 흡수제를 막접촉기에 적용 후 얻어진 $CO_2$ 제거율(98.0-97.8%)과 $CH_4$ 순도(98.5-98.3%)는 바이오 메탄으로서 매우 높은 가능성을 보여주었다. 하지만 PC/물 혼합 흡수제의 경우에는 물 흡수제와 비교하여 성능 변화가 매우 미비하였다. 이는 물보다 우수한 PC 흡수능과 함께 그에 따른 막접촉기 탈기 막 모듈 및 시스템 개선과 공급 유량 조절을 통해 $CH_4$ 손실 최소화 등 공정 최적화가 필요한 것으로 분석된다. To produce renewable biomethane from biogas, the properties of physical absorbents such as water, methanol, 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), poly(ethylene glycol) dimethylether (PEGDME), and propylene carbonate (PC) were studied, and PC was applied to membrane contactor systems. Among physical absorbents, PC exhibited a high contact angle of $58.3^{\circ}$ on polypropylene surface, and a PC/water mixture (5 wt%) increased the contact angle to $90^{\circ}$. Furthermore, the PC/water mixture presented higher $CO_2$ absorption capacities (0.148-0.157 mmol/g) than that of water (0.121 mmol/g), demonstrating a good property as an absorbent for membrane contactors. Actual operations in membrane contactors using the PC/water mixture resulted in $CO_2$ removal of 98.0-97.8% with biomethane purities of 98.5-98.3%, presenting a strong potential for biogas treatment. However, the PC/water mixture yielded moderate improved in $CO_2$ removal and methane recovery, as compared with water in the membrane contactor operation. This is originated from insufficient desorption processes to reuse absorbent and low $CO_2$ flux of the PC/water absorbent. Thus, it is requiring optimizations of membrane contactor technology including development of absorbent and improvement of operation process.

        Paenibacillus kimchicus sp. nov., an antimicrobial bacterium isolated from Kimchi

        병원성 미생물들에 대해 항균활성을 보이는 $W5-1^T$ 균주가 한국의 발효식품인 김치에서 분리되었다. 이 분리주는 그람염색변이성, 절대호기성, 간균, 내생포자형성과 주모성의 편모를 가지고 운동성을 나타내었다. 균주는 $15-40^{\circ}C$, pH 6.0-10.0, 0-4% NaCl 조건에서 생육하였다. 균주는 esculin과 xylan을 가수분해하였고, $\small{D}$-mannose을 동화하였으나 $\small{D}$-mannitol은 동화하지 못하였다. $W5-1^T$ 균주는 Listeria monocytogens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi에 항균활성을 보였다. $W5-1^T$ 균주의 DNA의 G+C 함량은 52.6 mol%였다. 주요 호흡성 퀴논은 menaquinone-7 (MK-7)였고, 주요 세포성 지방산은 $C_{16:0}$, antieiso-$C_{15:0}$, $C_{18:0}$, and $C_{12:0}$였다. 균주는 세포벽 펩티도클리칸으로 meso-diaminopimelic acid을 함유하였다. 16S rRNA 유전자서열 분석에 근거하여 $W5-1^T$ 균주는 Paenibacillaceae 과로 분류되었으며 Paenibacillus pinihumi $S23^T$(98.4% similarity), P. tarimensis $SA-7-6^T$(96.4%) 균주와 높은 연관성을 보였다. 분리주와 P. pinihumi $S23^T$는 8.5%의 DNA-DNA 관련성을 보임으로 $W5-1^T$ 균주가 Paenibacillus 속의 한 종임을 보여주었다. 이러한 다각적 연구의 증거로 볼 때 $W5-1^T$ 균주는 Paenibacillus 속의 신종으로 사료되어 Paenibacillus kimchicus로 명명을 제안하며, 표준균주는 $W5-1^T$(=KACC $15046^T$=LMG $25970^T$)이다. An antimicrobial bacterium to pathogenic microorganisms, strain $W5-1^T$ was isolated from Korean fermented-food Kimchi. The isolate was Gram-staining-variable, strictly aerobic, rod-shaped, endospore-forming, and motile with peritrichous flagella. It grew at $15-40^{\circ}C$, at pH 6.0-10.0, and in the presence of 0-4% NaCl. Strain $W5-1^T$ could hydrolyze esculin and xylan, and assimilate $\small{D}$-mannose, but not $\small{D}$-mannitol. Strain $W5-1^T$ showed antimicrobial activity against Listeria monocytogens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella typhi. The G+C content of the DNA of strains $W5-1^T$ was 52.6 mol%. The predominant respiratory quinone was menaquinone-7 (MK-7) and the major cellular fatty acids were $C_{16:0}$, antieiso-$C_{15:0}$, $C_{18:0}$, and $C_{12:0}$. The strain contained meso-diaminopimelic acid in cell-wall peptidoglycan. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence and phylogenetic analysis, the strain W5-1 was shown to belong to the family Paenibacillaceae and was most closely related to Paenibacillus pinihumi $S23^T$ (98.4% similarity) and Paenibacillus tarimensis $SA-7-6^T$ (96.4%). The DNA-DNA relatedness between the isolate and Paenibacillus pinihumi $S23^T$ was 8.5%, indicating that strain $W5-1^T$ represented a species in the genus Paenibacillus. On the basis of the evidence from this polyphasic study, it is proposed that strain $W5-1^T$ is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Paenibacillus, for which the name Paenibacillus kimchicus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is $W5-1^T$ (=KACC $15046^T$ = $LMG 25970^T$).

        졸겔법에 의한 DSSC 광전극의 전기화학적 특성

        In general, a photoelectrode in DSSC(dye sensitized solar cell) are fabricated by using the $TiO_2$ (Titanium dioxide) to realize high efficiency and the efficiency of DSSC is affected by the size, the shape and the property of $TiO_2$. We synthesized the crystalline $TiO_2$ by sol-gel method. In spite of many merits, only weakness for the sol-gel method is taking many process times. To solve this problem, we reduced the fabricating processes. The reduced process is the making process that is $TiO_2$ sol to $TiO_2$ powder with including of two heat treatment and two mixing. We could simplify the process by preparing $TiO_2$ sol to $TiO_2$ paste directly. As a result, DSSC fabrication process is simplified and we have obtained the efficiency best result 3.88% with $V_{OC}$=0.71 V, $J_{SC}=8.70\;mA/cm^{-2}$, and FF=62.37%, respectively.

        Na-Y 제올라이트가 첨가된 PVA/PAA 분리막의 아세트산 수용액에서 투과 증발 연구

        Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA)로 가교된 Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)에 Na-Y 제올라이트 입자를 첨가하여 투과증발막을 제조하였다. 적외선 분광 분석(FT-IR), 팽윤 실험, 접촉각 측정, SEM 및 XRD 분석을 통해 분리막의 특성을 연구하였으며, 제조된 분리막은 물/아세트산 혼합물의 투과증발 분리에 적용하였다. 연구결과 분리막에 첨가된 Na-Y 제올라이트의 함량이 증가함에 따라 분리막의 친수성이 증가하였으며, 제올라이트가 첨가된 PVA/PAA분리막은 제올라이트가 첨가되지 않은 분리막에 비해 높은 투과도를 나타내었다. 10 wt% 아세트산 수용액에서 8 wt%의 제올라이트가 포함된 PVA/PAA 분리막이 가장 높은 선택도와 투과도를 나타내었다. Membranes were prepared by incorporating Na-Y zeolite particles into poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) cross-linked with poly(acrylic acid) (PAA). The membrane was characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, contact angle measurement, swelling test, SEM analysis, and XRD analysis. The pervaporation separation of water/acetic acid mixtures was carried out using prepared membranes. From the results, it was shown that the hydrophilic property of prepared membrane increased with increase of zeolite contents and the PVA/PAA membrane with zeolite addition showed higher permeation flux than that of without zeolite membrane. The PVA/PAA membrane containing 8 wt% zeolite showed the highest perme-ation flux and separation in the feed solution containing 10 wt% acetic acid.

        근대 한국화단의 祝壽畵 연구

        This paper examines trends in the production of 38 chuksuhwa(祝壽畵, paintings commemorating longevity) works, comprising a total of 64 images, produced by Korean artists during the country’s modern period, and of which the production background is known. Around three quarters of these works are known to have been painted to mark 60th birthdays, highly auspicious occasions in Korean tradition, known as hoegap. This tells us that hoegap provided a key reason for producing chuksuhwa and were of great symbolic significance at the time. A considerable number of modern period chuksuhwa were thus focused on celebrating hoegap, a tradition with roots in the late Joseon period that continued and gathered pace with the advent of modernity. Two key motivations for the production of modern period chuksuhwa can be identified; exchange among calligrapher-painters and market-driven demand for calligraphy-paintings. Changes that affected all artists in the country, such as the search for new ways to make a living amid rapid political, social and cultural transformation, and the expanding market for calligraphy-paintings, also influenced the production of chuksuhwa. In the context of these changes, modern calligrapher-painters felt strong mutual connections and engaged in active exchange; this also led to the production of chuksuhwa as gifts to fellow artists. Meanwhile, rising demand spurred by the growth of the calligraphy-painting market is known to have been accompanied by a large number of chuksuhwa commissions. Chuksuhwa show differences according to these various reasons for their production. Meanwhile, modern period chuksuhwa were painted on a variety of themes and motifs, including sansu(landscape), hwajo yeongmo(flowers, birds and animals) and hwahwe(flowers). Some of these themes were particularly popular and featured repeatedly in paintings; these can broadly be divided into themes popular in the late Joseon period and those that became newly popular in the modernization era. The star Canopus, known in Korean as Shouxing(壽星, Star of Old Age) and believed to control longevity, was generally personified and depicted in the form of an old man. This popular literary motif, symbolizing a prayer for longevity, appeared in many paintings. Shouxing was painted several times in the Joseon period, with some late Joseon examples known to have been used to celebrate the longevity of those reaching their hoegap. In the modern period, in particular, a specific form of iconography was established and painted frequently by Jo Seokjin(趙錫晉, 1853~1920). In addition to this, pictures on the themes of Tianbaojiuru(天保九如, a literary phrase used to congratulate longevity), Mt. Penglai(蓬萊山), pine trees and cranes, and deer and arborvitae trees found new popularity as chuksuhwa. Tianbaojiuru and Mt. Penglai paintings became established as a fixed theme of landscape-type modern chuksuhwa; the role of An Jung-sik(安中植, 1861~1919) in this development is notable. An took these two themes, largely ignored by Korean artists before the advent of modernity, and used them to develop his own unique style of landscape painting. Pine and crane, and deer and arborvitae, paintings were each produced in respective pairs, while symbolism of longevity featured prominently among various hwajo yeongmo paintings, which were a favorite motif of chuksuhwa. Also noteworthy is the frequent appearance in these paintings of fourcharacter phrases describing the motif. Chuksuhwa have until now generally been regarded as one of the types of auspicious painting produced by Korean artists during the modern period; their production has largely been attributed to a basic desire for improved fortune amid the social upheaval and chaos of the late Joseon and Japanese colonial periods. This study, however, examines them in more detail, revealing specific reasons for and trends in their production and consumption: they were produced not simply to invite good fortune but to celebrate

        알코올중독자의 대인관계와 자살생각 간의 관계: 우울의 매개효과를 중심으로

        본 연구의 목적은 알코올중독자의 대인관계와 자살생각 간의 관계에서 우울이 어떤 역할을 하는지를 파악하는 것이다. 연구대상자는 서울 및 경기 지역에 위치한 정신병원 6곳에 알코올중독 또는 알코올남용으로 입원한 환자 총 151명이며, 다중회귀분석과 Baron&Kenny(1986)의 방식을 통하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상자들의 자살시도 횟수는 일반성인의 자살 시도율과 비교하면 약 13배 높았고, 자살생각은 평생 유병률보다 약 3배 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 우울과 대인 관계, 자살시도횟수, 음주심각성, 소득, 연령은 자살생각에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 매개효과 검증에서 우울은 대인관계와 자살생각 간의 관계에서 완전매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 알코올중독자의 자살 위험성을 사정하고 개입할 수 있는 실천가들의 교육 및 훈련, 자살 고위험군에 대한 관리체계구축 등과 같은 사회복지영역에서의 실천적 함의를 논하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of depression in the relationship between interpersonal relationships and suicide ideation among alcoholics. The study subjects included a total of 151 patients hospitalized at six psychiatric hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province for alcoholism or alcohol abuse. For data analysis, mediating effects were tested with multiple regression analysis and the Baron&Kenny (1986) method. The study findings were as follows: first, the suicide attempt rate of the subjects was approximately 13 times higher than that of non-alcoholic adults, while the subjects` suicide ideation rate was about three times higher. Secondly, depression, interpersonal relationships, number of suicide attempts, alcohol problem, income, and age had direct influence on suicide ideation. Finally, the test results of mediating effects showed that depression had full mediating effect between interpersonal relationships and suicide ideation. Based on these findings, the study discusses practice implications for the field of social welfare such as the need for educating and training practitioners capable of considering suicide risk of alcoholics, as well as the need for tailored intervention programs and their management systems for the high suicide risk group.

        이 연구는 ‘고난의 행군’ 이후 북한의 산림황폐화에 대한 연구이다. 산림황폐 화를 극복하기 위한 방법으로 ‘공유림제도’를 살펴본다. ‘공유림제도’를 오스트롬 의 ‘8가지 디자인원리’와 코르나이의 ‘사회주의체계’를 통해 상호보완적으로 검 토 한다. 공동체 혹은 사회적으로 통제되지 않는 사적이익 추구의 확대는 재앙 을 불러온다. 북한의 산림황폐화 사례가 그렇다. 공유림제도를 통해 사회적으로 통제되는 사적이익추구를 통한 북한 체제전환과정에 대한 대안을 고민하고자 한다. The purpose of this article is to analyze forest devastation of the DPRK (North Korea) after ‘Arduous March’. In this article, I examine the system of a public-owned forest to solve the issue of North Korea’s forest devastation through Elinor Ostrom’s 8 Design Principles and Janos Kornai’s Socialist System in a complimentary way. I assume that North Korea’s forest devastation is the result of ruthless pursuit of profits that have not been controlled by the regime. Therefore, I try to seek an alternative to pursue personal gain that can be controlled by the regime or society through the system of a public-owned forest in the middle of transition process of North Korea.

Thus. it is essential to develop the practical technology such as development of remodeling procedure and improvement methods of structural performance This paper includes the developments of the remodeling architectural plan and the structural performance of the existing slabs before and after remodeling.
