        Magnolia Cortex, Centella Asiatica and Zea Mays L. Contained Dentifrice according to the Phase Influence to the Oral Environment

        Objective: In order to compare the gingival subside effect by use of the cream tube type of dentifrice and pumping type dentifrice with the such ingredients as Magnolia Cortex, Centella asiatica and Zea Mays L. contained dentifrice. Methods: Forty volunteers who had a slight gingivitis have participated in this study by dividing 2 groups as using the paste in the tube type of the dentifrice as the control group and 20 for using the pumping gel type dentifrice in the tube as the experimental group with the same ingredients in 2 kinds of dentifrice such as Magnolia Cortex, Centella asiatica and Zea Mays L. contained in the 2 kinds of the dentifrice for 4 weeks. PMA (papillary, marginal, attached gingival index), GBI (gingival bleeding index), PHP (patient hygiene performance) and oral malodor check were performed on before the experiment a week later, 2 weeks and 4 weeks later. The data were analyzed in order to compare the results for the gingival subside effect. Results: More decreasing effect was seen in experimental group in PMA index than in the control group in 4 weeks later (p<0.05). GBI index also decrease in experimental group in 2 weeks later compared with the control group (p<0.05). PHP index was decreased both of the group by time passing and more decreasing in experimental group in 4 weeks later (p<0.05). Oral malodor was a little bit decreased in both groups and no significantly different between in experimental and the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: Magnolia Cortex, Centella asiatica and Zea Mays L. contained gel typed dentifrice using with the pumping type dentifrice would be more effective to subside the early stage of gingivitis and recommended to use it for the gingivitis dental patients.

      • 홍채분석에 나타난 스트레스링과 스트레스와의 상관관계

        본 연구는 스트레스와 스트레스의 대표적인 호르몬계, 신경계, 자율신경계, 면역계, 순환계 부조화 질환의 신호인 스트레스링과 자율신경환의 상관관계 연구이다. 연구는 경기도 Y시에 소재한 남, 여 전체 35명을 대상으로 조사하였으며, 치유진단 도구의 일부분인 홍채카메라로 분석하여 스트레스의 단계를 알고, 맥파측정기를 활용하여 맥파 측정과 구조화된 설문지를 통해 스트레스 상태를 확인하여 홍채분석이 형태학적 변화에 적용되는 부분을 비교 연구하였다. Y시에 소재한 남,여 전체 35명을 연구한 결과 스트레스 변수간의 상관관계에서 모두 유의한 정적상관을 나타내었고, 스트레스 설문지의 신체적, 행동적, 정서적, 인지적 결과와 맥파 측정 수치는 유의한 부적상관관계를 나타내었으며, 스트레스 설문지의 신체적, 행동적, 정서적, 인지적 결과와 홍채분석의 스트레스링 개수와의 상관관계에서도 유의한 부적상관관계를 나타내었다. 또한, 스트레스의 각 요인 및 맥파측정, 홍채진단의 상호 연관성은 연관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 스트레스를 받으면 스트레스상태가 홍채에 전달되어 홍채 조직의 변화를 일으켜 섬유조직의 분리가 나타나 병소 싸인이나 다른 특징들을 만들어 표시됨을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 홍채진단이 정신적, 육체적 건강을 증진 시킬 수 있을 것과 예방의학으로써의 가치를 기대 해 본다. This study is focused on the correlation between stress and the autonomic nervous system, which is a signal of stress and hormonal system, nervous system, autonomic nervous system, immune system, and circulatory disorder, which are representative diseases of stress. This study was conducted on a total of 35 men and women located in Y-city, Gyeonggi-do, and analyzed with the iris camera, which is a part of the healing diagnosis tool, to know the stage of stress. By understanding the condition, the part where the iris analysis is applied to the morphological change was comparatively studied. As a result of studying a total of 35 men and women located in Y city, all of the correlations between stress variables showed significant positive correlations. also it showed the difference between the physical, behavioral, emotional and cognitive results of the stress questionnaire with the pulse wave measurement values. There was a significant negative correlation with the difference in the iris stress analysis. Each factor of stress and the correlation between pulse wave measurement and iris diagnosis were found to be related. In conclusion, when stressed, the stress state is transmitted to the iris, causing changes in the iris tissue, resulting in the separation of fibrous tissue, which is indicated by creating lesion signs and other features. Through this, it is expected that iris diagnosis can improve mental and physical health and its value as a preventive medicine.

        국소 대뇌피질 침범과 운동성 간질발작을 보인 베르니케 뇌병증 2예

        We report two cases of Wernicke encephalopathy presenting with convulsive seizures. The first patient had been supplied with total parenteral nutrition due to acute pancreatitis and presented with partial seizure evolving to generalized seizure. The second patient had been malnourished due to alcoholism and recent dyspepsia after a gastrectomy, who presented with generalized seizure. Brain MRI revealed high-signal lesions in the focal cerebral cortex on T2-weighted, FLAIR, and diffusion-weighted images. After a thiamine injection, the patients recovered and abnormalities on the MRIs disappeared.

      • DNA Sequencing of 120 kD Antigen of Helicobacter pylori

        A genomic libary of Helicobacter pylori DNA in E. coli Y1090 was constructed into bacteriophage λgtll. The fusion proteins from recombinant phages were screened with monoclonal antibodies to 120 kD antigen of Helicobacter pylori. One clone(HPR4) was positive. The molecular weight of the fusion protein was 165kD. therefore, 51 kD size of the 120 kD antigen was cloned. The cloned gene in HPR4 is supposed to encode for carboxy-terminal region of 120 kD antigen. The K_pnⅠ-Sph Ⅰ fragment in 5'-terminal region of insert DNA was selected as a gene fragment corresponding to the 120 kD antigen portion(51kD) of the fusion protein. The nucleotide sequence of 1552bp was determined.

        건강보험 청구명세서 자료를 이용한 제왕절개 분만율 위험도 보정의 효과

        Objectives: To propose a risk-adjustment model from insurance claims data, and analyze the changes in cesarean section rates of healthcare organizations after adjusting for risk distribution. Methods: The study sample included delivery claims data from January to September, 2003. A risk-adjustment model was built using the 1st quarter data, and the 2nd and 3rd quarter data were used for a validation test. Patients' risk factors were adjusted using a logistic regression analysis. The c-statistic and Hosmer-Lemeshow test were used to evaluate the performance of the risk-adjustment model. Crude, predicted and risk-adjusted rates were calculated, and compared to analyze the effects of the adjustment. Results: Nine risk factors (malpresentation, eclampsia, malignancy, multiple pregnancies, problems in the placenta, previous Cesarean section, older mothers, bleeding and diabetes) were included in the final risk-adjustment model, and were found to have statistically significant effects on the mode of delivery. The c-statistic (0.78) and Hosmer-Lemeshow test ($x^2$=0.60, p=0.439) indicated a good model performance. After applying the 2nd and 3rd quarter data to the model, there were no differences in the c-statistic and Hosmer-Lemeshow $x^2$. Also, risk factor adjustment led to changes in the ranking of hospital Cesarean section rates, especially in tertiary and general hospitals. Conclusion: This study showed a model performance, using medical record abstracted data, was comparable to the results of previous studies. Insurance claims data can be used for identifying areas where risk factors should be adjusted. The changes in the ranking of hospital Cesarean section rates implied that crude rates can mislead people and therefore, the risk should be adjusted before the rates are released to the public. The proposed risk-adjustment model can be applied for the fair comparisons of the rates between hospitals.

      • Cloning and DNA Sequencing of Flagellin Gene of Helicobacter pylori

        A λgtll expression library of Helicobacter pylori DNA was screened with flagllin-specific rabbit antiserum for molecular cloning of the flagellin gene of Helicobacter pylori. A positive clone,λHPF4, was obtained and the recombinant antigen expressed from λHPF4 was a fusion protein with the molecular weight of 168kd. Sequence analysis of antigen-encoding DNA ahowed that an open reading frame of 1536 nucletides encodes a polypeptide with a predicted molecular size of 54kd. This open reading frame did not show any homology with flaA gene encoding 56kd protein of Helicobacter pylori amd was confirmed as a uniques sequence through homology searching. The cloned antigen is tentatively supposed to be the carboxy-termonal region of the other flagellin protein of Helicobacter pylori, flaB, with the molecular weight of 58kd.
