        This study was designed to establish an analytical method for the properties of leaf tobacco smoke. Lyophilized TPM from leaf tobacco smoke was extracted with MeOH, dried under reduced pressure, and trimethyl-silylated(TMS). Gas chromatography of the material using SPB-5 column showed 120 quantifiable peaks. Among those, 26 compounds including a hydrocarbons, Neophytadiene. and Levulinic acid could be identified through GC-MS. Smoke properties of 5 manufacturing grades and 2 oriental cultivars of domestic and imported leaf tobacco including AB3O-1 were analyzed. For flue-cured tobacco, content of the compounds in the smoke was generally higher in American leaf tobacco except for glycerol compounds. For burley tobacco, domestic leaves were found to have much higher amount of smoke compound than imported leaves. Among oriental tobacco, Izmir contained slightly higher amount of smoke compounds than Basma. Key words : GC - profile. TPM. TMS. Leaf tobacco.

      • 도라지담배 각초 및 연기중의 Lignan화합물 정량

        Deoxyschizandrin, gomisin N, schizandrin, wuweizisu C, gomisin A and angeloylgomisin H were isolated from fruits of Schisandra chinensis BAILLON, and the lignan contents in shred and smoke of 'Balloon-Flower' cigarettes were quantitatively analyzed by capillary-GC(FID). The GC column was SPB-1 fused silica capillay (0.25mm id$\times$30m, Supelco) and the column oven temperature was programmed from 20$0^{\circ}C$ to 30$0^{\circ}C$ at the rate of 4$^{\circ}C$/min. In the shred of 'Balloon-Flower' cigarettes deoxyschizandrin. gomisin N, schizandrin, gomisin A and angeloylgomisin H were detected and schizandrein contets were the highest among them, 22.77$\mu\textrm{g}$/cig., gomisin N, schizandrin and gomisin A were 0.023, 0.054, 0.0849 and 0.167$\mu\textrm{g}$/cig. respectively, and angeloylgomisin H was not detected.

        The chemical components of non-blended and blended cigarettes and their smoke have been analyzed to investigate the correlation between them. Some regression of linear equations were obtained based on the simple correlation data(r), for the various smoke components such as tar, nicotine, nitrogen dioxide, steam volatile phenols, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acrolein and hydrogen cyanide. Chi-square tests were carried out to observe the probabilities of the values estimated by the regression of linear equations. The probabilities of the greater values were 0.900-0.999 to tar, nicotine, formaldehyde, acetal dehyde, acrolein, steam volatile phenols, nitrogen dioxide and hydrogen cyanide of the non-blended cigarettes, and 0.900-0.999 to tar, nicotine, nitrogen dioxide, steam volatile phenols and static burning rate (SBR) of the blended cigarettes.

        Flue-cured tobacco leaves, produced in Korea and in the USA in 1980, were analyzed for their sugar contents. Regardless of tobacco varieties or production localities, glucose was the most abundant and sucrose the lowest among free sugars. In terms of total sugar, USA-produced leaves contained the highest concentration in the grade of $C_3F$ (equivalent to the $L_3$ grade in Korean standard) , but Korea produced ones in the grades of the $H_1\;and\;L_1$, (equivalent to the $B_1F\;and\;C_1F$ grades, respectively, in the USA standard) . Otherwise, we could not find any significant differences in sugar contents between American and Korean tobacco leaves.

        Relative content(% weight) of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and crude ashs in seed of korean green tea plant(Camellia simecis L.) are not different from those in seed of sunflower and safflower. However, the Camellia seed contains much higher crude saponin content(12.2%) than that of sesame(0.29%) or peanut(0.63%). It also contains 82% unsaturated fatty acids including oleic acid and contains tocopherol (22 ㎍/g, α-form only) that is significantly Less than of other oil-seed.

      • HPLC를 이용한 감초 추출물의 당 분석법 연구

        The study was carried out to develope quantitative analysis method of individual sugars in licorice extract. Individual sugars were analyzed by HPLC equipped with Refractive Index(RI) Detector. R values of sucrose and glucose were 1.0000 and R values of fructose and maltose were 0.9999. Standard calibration curve showed good linearity. Detection limit of sugars was in the range of 1.58 to 3.92 ${\mu}g$. Recovery rate of fructose, glucose, sucrose and maltose was $99.4\~102.2\%,\;92.3\~97.9\%,\;99.4\~102.0\%,\;91.1\~101.0$ respectively. Measure uncertainty was calculated to confirm trust and accuracy of analytical results. Main uncertainty factors were standard purity and HPLC replication injection. In $95\%$ trust level expanded uncertainty of sugars in licorice extract were fructose $1.98\pm0.047,\;glucose\;1.32\pm0.065,\;sucrose\;11.69\pm1.177,\;maltose\;1.06\pm0.042\;g/100\;g$.

        녹차의 카테킨류 분석법 개선

        Quantutative analysis of catechins by HPLC was studied. When the mobile phase was switched from the conventional(AOAC) Methanol, Acetonitril and Acetic acid solution in Hz0 to 0.06% Phosphate solution with Acetonitrile, N,N-Dimethyl formamide, and Ethyl acetate, retention time could be reduced from 45 min to 28 min, especially, we obtained sharper chromatogram of the compounds, either (-)EGCG or (-)ECG, which resulted in minimization of analytical erros. CVs of retention time (0.32∼3.97%) and peak area (1.61∼7.01%) indicated that the data were more reliable. Content of catechins in commerical teas analyzed by the method was 120.3∼153.7 ㎎/g in green teas which was about 4 times that in black tea.

        3종의 가지과식물종자유중(料植物種子油中)의 Sterol 조성

        Sterol compositions of three solanaceous plant seed oils i.e., tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.), datum (Datura stramonium L.) and Chinese lycium (Lycium chinerise Mill.) were analyzed by thin layer chromatography, gas liquid chromatography and gas liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Cholesterol, cholest-7-enol, campesterol, 24-methylenecholesterol, stigmasterol, sitosterol, and 28-isofucosterot were identified in 4-des-methylsterol fraction. 31-Norlanost-8-enol, 4α-methylcholest-8-enol, lophenol, 31-norlanosterol, obtusifoliol, 31-norcycloartenol, cyloeucalenol, gramisterol (24-methylenelophenol), and citrostadienol in 4-monomethylsterol fraction, and lanost-8-enol, cycloartanol, lanosterol, β-amyrin, 24-methylenelanost-8-enol, cycloartenol, lupeol and 24-methylenecycloartanol in 4,4-dimethylsterol fraction were identified respectively.

        This study was carried out to estimate the quality of six Korean aromatic tobacco vatsieties by using the methods which suggested by Shmuk, Bruckner, Pyriki, Phillip and Tso. The results are as follows: 1 . The order of quality which estimated by the methods of Shmuk, pyriki, and phillip was 378-8 780-35 374-3 7801-19 Sohyang Hyangcho. 2. The order of quality by Bruckner's method was 7801-35 378-8 Sohyang 374-3 7801-19 Hyangcho. 3. By Tso's method the order of quality was 7801-35 374-3 378-8 7801-19 Sohyang Hyangcho. 4. In view of usability index the order of quality was Hyangcho 7801-19 Sohyang 378-8374-3 7801-35.

      • 버어리종 담배의 이식시기가 수량 및 polyphenols의 종류와 함량에 미치는 영향

        To find out the effect of transplanting time on the autonomic characters, yield of cured leaves and content of polyphenols in burley tobacco, three transplanting time were evaluated. The results obtained are as follows. Low temperature which was caused damage earliest stage of tobacco in early transplanting could escape by vinyl mulching and other treatment. 2. The major polyphenols in leaves were chlorogenic acid and rutin, small amount of scopolin and quercetin were also detected. 3. Chlorogenic acid decreased during curing. 4. Polyphenols content was not influenced by transplanting time.
