      • 잎담배 종류 및 등급에 따른 담배 연기응축물의 Acid 및 Phenol 화합물 함량 비교

        황건중,이문수,나도영,장기철 한국연초학회 2000 한국연초학회지 Vol.22 No.1

This study was conducted to determine the acid and phenol compounds in smoke total particulate matter(TPM) by the different tobacco variety, and grade of tobacco leaves. Sixteen kinds of tobacco leaves which were flue-curd, burley, orient, reconstituted tobacco, expanded stem, and expanded cut tobacco, were selected for this study. After collecting a TPM by using smoking machine, the concentration of TPM components was analyzed by GC. Acid components of TPM of mainstream smoke were different from the variety and grade. The order of the highest concentration of acid compounds in TPM was flue-cured > orient> burley> expanded cut tobacco> reconstituted tobacco> expanded stem. Though lactic acid and glycolic acid concentrations in flue-cured tobacco were twice higher than those in burley tobacco, the contents of 2-furoic acid and 3,4-dihydroxy butanoic acid in burley tobacco were higher than those in flue-cured tobacco. The content of phenolic compounds in the high grade and thick leaves was higher than that in other tobacco leaves. Phenol and catechol compounds in burley CD3W-2 revealed the least value in concentration among the samples tested. Pyrocatechol and hydroquinone concentrations in flue-cured tobacco were 2-3 times higher than those in burley and orient tobacco.

cent was carried out to study on the effect of temperature and humidity to chemical tobacco leaves during the yellowing stage. The results were follows : In the condition of high humidity and low temperature, yellowing time was delayed ; leaf color appeared lack clearness. In the higher temperature and the lower humidity during the yellowing stage : total sugar, reducing sugar and malic acid content were increased. Decomposition of nitrogenous components elevated in $38^{\circ}C$, 85%RH. Changes of total nitrogen content correlated with total curing time. Adecrease of linolenic acid with a corresponding increase of chlorogenic acid proceeded in the condition of low temperature and high humidity. In a view of tobacco quality by chemical components, the low temperature and high humidity during the yellowing stage decreased quality of tobacco leaves. It is considered to control of the proper condition of temperature and humidity during the yellowing.

This study was conducted to determine the smoke component changes by adding oriental, reconstituted, and expanded tobacco leaves. 7 different cigarette brands which were mixed with flue-cured, burley, oriental, reconstituted and expanded tobacco leaves were used for this study. 64 kinds of smoke components which were 6 of general components, 34 of semi-volatile and volatile components, 9 of acid components, and 15 of phenolic components were analyzed. All smoke components of mainstream smoke were changed by the different branding. As Tar, nicotine, ammonia, pH, all of acid compounds(except lacatic and glycolic acid) were decreased; HCN, levoglucosame, 4-vinyl phenol, 4-vinyl catechol, quinic acid-r-lactone, acetaldehyde, 2,3-butadiene, stylene were increased by adding oriental tobacco leaves. When the reconstituted tobaccos were added to 20%, the concentration of nicotine, all of acid compounds(except lactic. glycolic, palmitic acid) and all of phenol compounds were reduced; the concentration of ammonia, HNC, CO, aeconitrile, benzene, 2-butanone, moth-acrolene, butyronitrile, stylene, o-xylene were increased. As decreasing ammonia, pH, nicotine, all of acid compounds, all of phenol compounds, Isoprene, acetonitrile, 2-methyl-2-butene, 1,3-pentadiene, 2-nlethyl furane, ethylene cyclopentanone, ethyl bezene; increasing CO concentration were followed by adding expanded tobacco leaves.

      • 밀폐된 공간에서 환기에 의한 ETS 성분 제거

        황건중,이문수,나도영 한국연초학회 1999 한국연초학회지 Vol.21 No.1

This study was conducted to evaluate the ventilation to remove gases, vapor and particles of environmental tobacco smoke(ETS) in a closed room. The ventilation rate choosed were 0.445 ㎥/min, 0.528 ㎥/min, and 0.625 ㎥/min. ETS components measured were total suspended particle(TSP), ultraviolet particulate matter(UVPM), fluorescent particulate matter(FPM), solanesol, carbon dioxide($CO_2$), carbon monoxide(CO), nicotine, and 3-ethenylpyri-dine(3-EP). The concentration of ETS components measured rapidly decreased as increasing ventilation rate, but the removal efficiency by ventilation was different from each ETS compounds. The $CO_2$, and CO, gaseous components of ETS, were dominant components to be removed from the room by ventilation. The ventilation with 0.528 ㎥/min for 1 hr was enough to remove over 99% of those gaseous components. Nicotine and 3-EP needed the ventilation for 2 hrs to reduce over 95 % of those components. As the same ventilation rate, 99 % of TSP and solanesol concentration were removed from the room within 2 hrs, UVPM and FPM concentration decreased 90 %.

        황건중,석영선 한국연초학회 1996 한국연초학회지 Vol.18 No.1

This experiment was carried out to study the effect of oxygen on chemical composition and physical properties of tobacco leaves during flue-curing. The results obtained were as follows: Starch content decreased and sucrose content increased with increasing oxygen supply during curing. Glucose and fructose of the cured leaves showed high content at the 5-10% oxygen supply. Amino-N and nitrate-N increased with increasing oxygen supply. Total nitrogen and NH4-N showed the lowest value at the 5-10% and 10-15% oxygen supply in the cutters and leaf, respectively. Chlorophyll and chlorogenic acid increased, and total volatile base decreased with increasing oxygen supply. The activity of α-amylase increased at the latter period of flue-curing, and the maximum activity point were delayed 12 hours with increasing oxygen supply. Shatter index of cured leaves decreased with increasing oxygen supply. It was desirable to supply oxygen during flue-curing for the improvement of chemical and physical properties such as starch, total sugar, chlorogenic acid, and shatter index of cured leaves.

This study was conducted to determine the sidestream smoke concentration, nicotine, tar, and CO, by the characteristics of tobacco leaves and their combinations. 20 kinds of tobacco leaves and 15 types of their combinations were selected for this study. After collecting the sidestream smoke by fishtail chimney, the concentrations of nicotine, tar, and CO in sidestream smoke were analyzed. Variation in nicotine concentration of sidestream smoke among tobacco leaves and their combinations was as much as 9-times. Heavy leaves and burley leaves were higher in nicotine concentration than light leaves and flue-cured leaves, respectively, the reconstituted tobacco leaf had the minimum concentration of nicotine. Tar concentration of sidestream smoke also was changed by the characteristics of tobacco leaves and their combinations. As the american C4F had the maximum concentration of tar in sidestream smoke, the reconstituted tobacco leaf showed the minimum concentration. Blending 50 % flue-cured B1-0 plus 50% burley B1-T grade showed the highest value in the nicotine concentration. Also, in case of adding B3K and izmir tobacco leaves, the nicotine concentration was decreased. The tar concentration in the sidestream smoke increased as increasing the amount of flue-cured heavy leaf. The CO concentration was not so much Changed by the characteristics of tobacco leaves and their combinations.

This study was conducted to determine the aroma and volatile component changes from a different stalk positions of Korean flue-cured tobacco. Eight different stalk positions of flue-cured leaf tobaccos harvested in 2001 were used for this study. Thermal extraction method at two different treatment temperature($50\;amp;\;80^{\circ}C$) was applied for this experiment. Forty eight kinds of aroma and volatile components such as 2,4-heptadienal, hexadecane, 1-methyl-1H- pyridine, 2,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole were analyzed by using thermal extraction method. All of aroma and volatile components of leaf tobaccos were changed from a different stalk positions and treatment temperature. Leaf tobaccos in middle stalk position have a higher concentration of aroma and volatile components such as norsolanidione, 4-pyridinecarboxaldehyde, 4-methyl-4-OH-2-pentanone, acetic acid, propylene glycol, 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone, 2,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole. Also, Megastigmatrienone 1, 3-oxo-[alpha]ionol, 6,10,14-trimethyl-2-pentadecanone, heptadecane, 6-methyl-2-isohexyl-l-heptene concentration were low in the middle stalk position and high in both bottom and upper position. Treatment temperature affected on the changes of many aroma and volatile components in leaf tobacco. Most of aroma and volatile components such as, 2,4-Heptadienal, dodecanoic methylester, famesol isomer and 3-acetylpyridine were sharply increased as increasing treatment temperature. This results can be used to estimate the aroma characteristics of cigarette blend using a different stalk position of leaf tobacco.

This study was conducted to evaluate the ability of anion generating air cleaner to remove gases, vapor and particles from closed room contaminated with environmental tobacco smoke (ETS). The measurements covered particle sizes of 13.8-542.5nm, particle concentration, surface area, volumes UVPM, FPM, solanesol, and the following gases and vapor; carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nicotine, and 3-ethenylpyridine. Tobacco smoke was generated and mixed in a closed room in which the airflow rates were in the range of 0.00-0.04 m/s. The anion generating air cleaner was startedl and the decay rates for the gases, vapor and particles were measured, When the use of anion generating air cleaner, solid components of ETS, such as respirable suspended particle (RSP), utraviolet particulate matter (UVPM, fluorescent particulate matter (FPM) and solanesol was sharply decreased, and vapor phase components of ETS, such as nicotines 3-ethenylpyidine were modelately decreased by time elapse. Even the use of anion generation air cleaner, the decreasing rate of carbon dioxide concentration was similar with control, and the decreasing rate of carbon monoxide was slower than that of control. Our results indicated that the use of anion generting air cleaner had an effect on reduction of solid and vapor components from ETs, but it had no effect on gaseous components of ETS.
