The major characteristics of the developed corn hybrids were compared at each different planting time; 1st time(April 28) and 2nd time(August 20), respectively. Among traits surveyed, stem height showed highly at 1st time than 2nd, while ear height, stem diameter and ear length were similar at two times. Sugar content of the used hybrids showed highly at 2nd planting time than 1st. Pericarp thickness was also high at 2nd planting time. Especially, among hybrids CNU99 was the highest in stem height and ear length, CNU11 and CNU56 were high in sugar content, and CNU51 and CNU124 were thiner than other hybrids in pericarp thickness. Accordingly, these hybrids will be planted and recognized in 2nd yield trial for superior corn hybrid selection.

This study was carried out to compare the productivity and to evaluate the stability for the introduced sweet corn hybrids; Sunnychocolat, 7168Y and Gammiok as a check hybrids. The used materials were planted at Anseong and Daejeon by randomized block design with 3 replications on 21 April, 2013. In productivity of the used hybrid corns, plant and ear height showed comparatively stable as a 183.5 ㎝ to 226.5 ㎝ and 45.8 ㎝ to 80.9 ㎝, respectively. In yield per 10a, number of ears was higher in Sunnychocolat than check, while Gammiok was very poor in kernel setting length and marketability. Beside, stability of the used hybrids also showed highly in the introduced hybrids than check in the ratio of ear to plant height, tolerance to environmental stress and low lodging. As results above, we thought that these introduced hybrids will be well adapted in domestic cultivation and growth habit as like other hybrid corns.
찰옥수수 연구 - XV. 국내 유전자원을 이용한 찰옥수수 교잡종의 주요 작물학적 특성

This study was carried out to identify the characteristics of 37 corn hybrids, which composed with 18 yellow colored kernel, 9 purple colored kernel, 8 white colored kernel. Days to silking of three colored waxy corn hybrids ranged from 61 to 73 days after sowing as midium-late ecotype. Ear length of hybrids ranged from 10.3 to 22.7 cm, and among them a total 22 waxy corn hybrids including CNU038 showed over 20 cm in ear length. The fresh weight per ear ranged from 58 to 289 g as the 32.9% of large coefficient of variance. In there results, we found yellow colored waxy corn hybrids showed relatively longer in ear length and heavier in fresh weight per ear compare to other colored waxy corn hybrids. In correlation relationships, plant height, ear height, stem diameter, ear length and ear weight showed positive correlation between themselves, while tip filling ratio did negative correlation with silking stage, plant height, ear length, ear weight and kernel thickness. Also, 100 kernel weight did positive correlation between traits related to ear and kernel.

Protein content of waxy corn hybrids ranged from 9.3 to 17.1%, and amylopectin content ranged from 83.9 to 94.5%. Three waxy corn hybrids including CNU043 showed less than 10 percent in protein content, and seven waxy corn hybrids including CNU052 were higher than 94% at the amylopectin content. At the amylogram test the ranges of the pasting temperature, peak viscosity, hot viscosity, cool viscosity, breakdown, setback, and consistency were 71.6~77.5℃, 58~210 RVU, 36.1~114.2 RVU, 47~145 RVU, 21.4~97.8 RVU, -66.4~-9.6 RVU, and 11.1~36.3 RVU, respectively.

This study was carried out to find a botanical and antioxidant characteristics in CNU rice lines developed in the crop Genetics & Breeding Lab. At (CNU) the CNU lines including CNU-Hinhchal, were planted one plant per hill by hand by 30 ㎝×15 ㎝ density at CNU paddy rice farm on May 11, 2011. Clum length of Shinsunchalbyeo as check among used line was longest than others, while that of CNU-114 was shortest among lines. For the number of tillers per plant, CNU-Hinhchal was higher as 20 than other lines but CNU-112 and Shinsunchalbyeo were lowest as 12. The number of spikelets per plant was highest in CNU-Hinhchal as 1,800 but that of Milyang 225 was lowest among the used lines.
