Vol.16 No.6
본 논문에서는 분산문제 해결 시스템의 하나인 MIAT(Multiple Intelligent Agent Testbed)와 이 시스템의 계산 기본단위인 IA(Intelligent Agent)에 대해 연구하였다. In this thesis, a distributed problem solving system, called MIAT (Multiple Intelligent Agent Testbed), and IA(Intelligent Agent) of basic computational unit of this system are studied. The architecture of MIAT has 5-level hierarchical layer. IA includes the facilities of adaptability, and extensibility. A framework in the framework layer of MIAT handles messages among IAs, and schedules the IAs. This system is applied to logic circuit design. Simulated results are compared with other works. By increasing information of other IAs and problem environment, the number of communicated messages is less than that of communicated messages in distributed-processing system. Comparing with Yang & Huhns[12], furthermore, the number of controlled tasks is also reduced because in our model the planner updates the meta-knowledge when subtasks are dedued.

본 논문에서는 이산사건 시스템을 규정하는 DEVS(Discrete Event Systems Specification)형식론에 기초한 분산문제해결 프레임워크를 제안한다. Distributed Problem Solving(DPS) is an area of distributed artificial intelligence. In a DPS system, a problem is solved by a team of cooperating intelligent agents. Each intelligent agent has only partial data and knowledge of the problem and the problem solving environment. A DPS system is a discrete event system. During problem solving, an intelligent agent randomly receives and processes messages from outside and other intelligent agents; it also unpredictably activates knowledge sources in itself. This paper proposes a DPS framework based on the DEVS formalism. The formalism specifies discrete event systems in a hierarchical, modular manner. The framework consists of two components, SOLVING-AGENT and MANAGING-AGENT, SOLVING-AGENT maintains several problem-solving plans. It can solve many problems concurrently. MANAGING-AGENT keeps the capability and load factor of SOLVING-AGENTs. Also it distributes messages to SOLVING-AGENTs. For verifying the proposed framework, an example system with three intelligent agents was examined. It concurrently solves given problems. Also, computing loads are evenly distributed to each SOLVING-AGENT.

A simulator is proposed in this paper for predicting the RF signal level after propagating over sea and land surfaces. Various sea and land types and transmit/receive antenna patterns, as well as the locus of the transmit antenna, are considered for this simulator. At first, microwave reflection characteristics of various sea surfaces have been computed, based on an empirical formula which is developed in this study for the relation between the sea surface roughness and wind speed. Then, microwave reflections from land surfaces such as forests, agricultural areas, and bare surfaces, are computed using the first-order vector radiative transfer theory. Finally, the signal paths over sea and land surfaces are found using the ray tracing technique and the digital elevation model, and the signal level received by a receiving antenna is computed by the using the reflection coefficients of sea and land surfaces and the signal paths.
