Total Knee Arthroplasty is a surgery of replacing a knee joint with artificial implants. The objectives of the surgery is to restore and correct the lower limb mechanical axis and alleviate pain in the knee joint. Various robotic systems have been proposed to accomplish high accuracy of the alignment of the lower limb mechanical axis and therefore precise cutting of the femur and tibia. These robotic systems for TKA have drawbacks such as increased surgery time and limitation of surgeon’s direct intervention. These drawbacks mainly arises from using the end mill for the cut and adopting an automated scheme of the process. We propose a novel surgical robotic platform that is able to effectively guide the surgeons during TKA. The robotic platform accurately locates the planes of cut and positions the cutting jig. Surgeons use the oscillating saw which they have been using in the conventional surgery, thus the user experiences the familiar force feedback when making the cut, while greatly reducing the load of human resources and surgery time.

The purpose of A/C system in the vehicle is to have a driver comfortable by adjusting temperature and humidity. To increase this A/C system efficiency, it is good way to increase compressor’s performance. But, if compressor"s performance is increased with noise, it will not be good design. The purpose of this study is, by optimizing Rear Head’s refrigerant path, to increase compressor’s performance and decrease noise value in the vehicle. In this paper, to satisfy compressor’s performance and noise we conducted CFD analysis, performance test, pulsation test, bulk noise test and real car noise test. Through these experiments, we could design optimization discharge system of scroll compressor.
홀로그래픽 리소그래피와 UV 성형을 이용한 나노 구조물 제작

The one-dimensional gratings and two-dimensional crossed gratings on 4 inch silicon wafer in subwavelength scale have been fabricated by holographic lithography system, which was constructed using He-Cd laser (λ=441.6㎚). For the good surface relief profile, the holographic lithography process was modulated with the exposure energy and developing time. After measuring the surface profiles of nano-structures, master structures on photoresist have been used to fabricate metallic nano-stampers using electroforming process for UV molding.
광통신 용 VCSEL Array 상에 Microlens Array를 집적하기 위한 UV 성형 공정기술 개발

UV molding is a process for integrating micro/nano polymeric optical components on optoelectronic modules. In the present study, a microlens array for vertical cavity surface emitting laser(VCSEL) to fiber coupling was designed, integrated and tested. At the design stage, design variables ware optimized to maximize the coupling efficiency, and tolerance analysis was carried out. At the integration stage, the UV transparent mold was fabricated and the microlens array on VCSEL array was integrated by UV molding process. Finally the coupling efficiency of VCSEL to fiber was measured and analyzed.

Specially, Designing hydraulic system in low flux optimization view point determine a transfer efficiency and a, low flux design is needed to optimize hydraulic system concept and use low volume capacity pump.

We developed an underwater robot with tilting thrusters and designed the selective switching controller for stable hovering motion. 6-DOF motion dynamics were divided into two 3-DOF subsystems according to tilting angle, and two PD controllers for each 3-DOF subsystems were designed. Selection logic switched between sub-controllers depending on the error of robot motion in real-time. The selection strategy has a major influence on the state trajectories under selective switching control. This paper compares with three selection strategies which have criterion of maximum value, average, and norm of errors. The characteristics of each strategy are analyzed from simulation results. This work can lay the base for optimal selection strategy.
