        유류오염 지하수 정화를 위한 양수처리법 적용시 지하수위 변화 및 수처리장치의 효율평가

        This study was performed to evaluate the applicability of pump and treat technology as well as to identify the changes of groundwater level by continuous pumping at the petroleum contaminated site. A total of 9 monitoring wells were installed at the site and the contaminant concentrations, TPH, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene, of groundwater were measured. With the results of the groundwater monitoring, a total of 9 wells were set up for pumping contaminated groundwater in 3 locations. The waste water treatment facility with a capacity of $10m^3/hr$ was installed in the site and operated for about 1 year. The concentrations of the contaminated groundwater from the 3 pumping wells were exceeded groundwater regulation for benzene and TPH. However, the effluent concentration of benzene and TPH was under the regulation showing the maximum level of 0.011 mg/L and 1.2 mg/L during the operation periods. Groundwater levels were decreased by continuous pumping and those were not recovered during the operation period. Groundwater levels of PW-1,2, PW-3,4,5,6 and PW-7,8,9 were decreased about 5 m, 0.7 m, 2 m, respectively. The hydraulic conductivity (K) of the region of PW-1,2, PW-3,4,5,6 and PW-7,8,9 was estimated to be $6.143{\times}10^{-5}cm/sec$, $2.675{\times}10^{-5}cm/sec$, $1.198{\times}10^{-4}cm/sec$. Groundwater level was seemed to be affected not by hydraulic conductivity but by morphological effect. These results show that the pump and treat technology has high applicability for the restoration of petroleum contaminated groundwater but needs continuous monitoring to prevent rapid groundwater drawdown.

        Microcystis aeruginosa ( 남조류 ) 의 물꽃 형성에 미치는 환경요인의 교차상관분석

        To elucidate how the environmental factors affect water-bloom of Microcystis aeruginosa population, abundance of phytoplankton and nine environmental factors were measured in a small, eutrophic reservoir from March to August, 1993. The data were transformed into stationary data by ARIMA model and the cross correlation coefficients among time series were calculated. Anoxic zone developed after March while thermal stratification did after April. Soluble reactive phosphorus(SRP) concentration was drastically increased since May and M. aeruginosa appeared in June and dominated in July. As the result of cross correlation analysis, abundance of M. aeruginosa lagged behind the increase of SRP concentration which coincided with the development of anoxic zone, which in turn lagged behind the increase of bottom water temperature. Ammonium ion concentration also led to abundance of M. aeruginosa. Moreover, abundance of M. aeruginosa coincided with water column stability which lagged behind surface water temperature. Increase of water temperature would develop anoxic condition and tncrease water column stability. Under anoxic condition, SRP and NH_4^+ would be released from sediment and facilitate growth of M. aeruginosa population. Besides, high water column stability would facilitate buoyancy of this species.

        Effect of Carburization on the Microstructure and Laser Weldability of 316L Stainless Steel

        This study aims to investigate the influence of the carburizing layer on the microstructure of laser-welded joints in 316L stainless steel, aiming to enhance the properties of stainless steel components through the incorporation of carburization. Through a comprehensive experimental approach, including nanoindentation and Vickers hardness measurements, the microstructural analysis of the laser-welded specimens was conducted. The nanoindentation results reveal a significant increase in hardness, with the carburizing layer exhibiting a remarkable 215% improvement compared to the base material. In order to effectively harness the wear resistance for various applications, the examination of macroscopic characteristics in laser-welded joints reveals the necessity of regulating heat input and minimizing defects to attain welds of superior quality. Additionally, the phase transformation behavior of stainless steel during welding was found to be altered due to dilution in the fusion zone and the presence of high carbon content in the heat-affected zone of the carburizing layer. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the microstructural changes induced by carburization and its implications for the welding performance and mechanical properties of stainless steel.

        구절초의 추출조건에 따른 Linarin 함량과 In Vitro 생리활성 변화

        본 연구에서는 구절초를 대상으로 물과 에탄올을 이용하여 확보한 각각의 추출물에 대하여 추출 수율, 폴리페놀 함량, 플라보노이드 함량, linarin 함량, ABTS 라디칼 소거능과 DPPH 라디칼 소거능, α-glucosidase 저해 활성, lipase 저해 활성을 측정하였다. 구절초는 70°C, 50% 주정 추출조건에서 추출 수율과 총플라보노이드 함량, linarin 함량, ABTS 라디칼 소거능과 DPPH 라디칼 소거능, α-glucosidase 저해 활성, lipase 저해 활성이 가장 높았다. 또한, linarin 함량이 구절초 추출물의 생리활성과 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 구절초 추출물은 linarin 함량이 증가함에 따라 항산화, 탄수화물 및 지방 흡수 지연 활성을 가지는 것으로 생각한다. 본 연구를 통하여 구절초의 추출조건에 따른 생리활성을 확인함으로써 향후 구절초를 이용한 건강기능식품의 소재 등으로 이용 가능할 것으로 생각한다. This study was designed to determine optimal extraction conditions of Chrysanthemum zawadskii (CZ) with high yield of bioactive compounds (linarin, polyphenols, and flavonoids) and improved in vitro activities. Ethanol extracts were examined at different concentrations (0, 30, 50, 70, and 95%) and temperatures (50 and 70°C). The recommended extraction conditions were 50% ethanol at 70°C for 4 h, which gave the highest yield of linarin, polyphenols, and flavonoids. This extract appeared to have the greatest ABTS and DPPH radical scavenging activities (87.81% and 51.42% at 500 μg/mL, respectively) and α-glucosidase (74.59%) and pancreatic lipase inhibitory activities (90.44%). As contents of linarin increased, antioxidative activity, inhibitory effects of carbohydrates and lipid absorption of CZ extracts increased as well. From these results, CZ extracts can be used in functional food industries.
