Association between enlarged iliopsoas bursa and hip lesions such as osteoarthritis of the hip or femoral headnecrosis is infrequently seen. Enlarged iliopsoas bursa with a rapidly destructive arthropathy is claimed to beseen only in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. In this paper, we report a patient with a rapidly destructivearthropathy accompanied by an enlarged iliopsoas bursa that has been misdiagnosed as an infection.
Temperature dependent development of Tetranychus. urticae Koch was studied on the leaf of eggplant at 17, 22, 27, 32 and 37℃, T. urticae showed a minimum mortality at 27℃ and it increased at higher or lower temperatures than 27℃. The hatchability was low at 17 and 37℃. The duration of development decreased with increasing temperatures i.e., 5.3d at 37℃ and 25.8d at 17℃. Linear regression analysis of temperature vs. rate of development yielded the higher r² ≥ 0.88 resulting in a good fit of the estimated line in the range of 17~37℃. Developmental zero temperature was 12.5℃ for the entire immature stage of female and 12.8℃ for that of male. Thermal constants were 80.5 and 74.7 degree days for those of female and male, respectively. Adult life span and oviposition period decreased with increasing temperatures. The number of eggs laid per female peaked at 141.0 eggs at 27℃, while that was a minimum 78.0 eggs at 37℃. Rate of hatchability, ratio of female, and R0 were increased up to 27℃, and than declined thereafter. Intrinsic rate of natural increase (Rm) increased with rising temperatures and showed a maximum 0.5652 at 37℃. Also, λ increased with increasing temperature. Doubling time (Dt) and generation time (T) decreased with increasing temperature.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the activity of the thigh muscle(rectus femoris, vastus medial/ lateralis, hamstring medial/lateralis) which are caused by the change cf lower extremity muscle activity to speed and inclination during forward and backward walking on the treadmill. Method: Twenty healthy young adults were recruited. The subjects were given a warm-up for 1 minute at the speed of 2.0km/h before exercise, and 2km/h to 4km/h from 10% to 4km/h in the frontal and backward walking. Result: In the present study, it was found that the muscle activity of the lateral broad and inward wide muscles increased when the treadmill was backward for 40 seconds without training. And the femur and the muscle were significantly different from 10% to 4km/h(p<.05). Conclusion: These findings suggest that in the treadmill, it is effective in increasing the leg strength in the backward walking than in the forward walking. And it was concluded that muscle activity increased at 4km/h when the speed was 2km/h when backward walking.
Concerning anterior cruciate ligament injuries, many authors reported varied types and results of treatment. The author summarized the general guide-line of operation, the principle of surgery, and the postoperative rehabilitation of anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
This proposal examines how Chosun government-general and Seoul department led and controlled the city Seoul through urban law and various public works projects under the rule of Japan. Under the Japan’s colonial rule, the city, Seoul was expanded and divided into districts according to city plan after 1936. The core plan was to build suburb residential area with consideration of land settlement. Directly, this plan had the purpose of controlling sprawl; however, it became the foundation of urban redevelopment for the future. Throughout this study, we examine how this policy changes the principles of plan and city image. We hypothesize that four elements would be similar and different (conflict) with each other at the same time. Four elements are 1) the image of modern city based on model of Western cities, 2) based on the model (style) of Japan city, 3) regional tradition, and 4) restriction by Japan government.<BR> The seoul department technicians(engineers) advertised the residential area, that has outside garden and low building-to-land ratio as the optimal(best) residential area. They campaigned that through land readjustment, those optimal residential area would be built and be reveals how those technicians(engineers) encountered, and dealt with the characteristics(reactions) of landord"s behaviors and tries to understand basic techniques of residential construction (architect) by businessmen(developers). In addtion, this study explains the appearance of Hanok in 1920s" and how this trend ecaluated and planned.
괴사성 근막염은 정형외과적 응급질환 중 하나로 조기 진단과 집중적인 치료가 매우 중요하다. 저자들은 환자가 병식이 없는 상태에서 직장암 천공 후 고관절의 단 외회전근을 경로로 2차적으로 발생한 대퇴부 괴사성 근막염 환자 1예를 보고하고자 한다. 직장 천공과 같이 드물지만 치명적일 수 있는 원인으로 괴사성 근막염이 유발될 수 있는 가능성에 대해 항상 경계하여야 할 것이다. Necrotizing fasciitis is one of the few true emergencies in orthopedic surgery that has a very high mortality rate unless recognized promptly and treated aggressively. The authors report a case of a patient with necrotizing fasciitis on the thigh that developed secondary to an unrecognized rectal cancer perforation through the short external rotator muscles. Clinicians should always be alert to the potential that rectal cancer perforations can cause necrotizing fasciitis in rare cases.
This experiment was carried out to develop an environmental friendly agriculture material (EFAM) using neem extract i.e. azadirachtin (0.5%), especially against Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) in eggplant. Neem product was found to be very effective against both nymph and adult of B. tabaci. Yield and economic value of eggplant treated with neem extract were higher than other EFAMs used. Effect of different concentration of Neem product was also investigated on population density of B. tabaci. The growth and yield of eggplants were highest in plants treated with 500 times concentrated solution of neem product. Economic analysis showed that the income increased by 13,545 thousand won/10a from the plots treated with 500 times concentrated solution of neem product over control. The results suggested that 500 times concentrated solution of EFAM (azadirachtin 0.5%) could be a good controlling agent of B. tabaci in eggplants.
