Degree of Freedom and Time Reversal Symmetryof Supertask 문】제논 역설에 논리적 문제점이 있음을 지적하기 위해 만들어진 신제논류 역설에 등장하는 무한기계(infinite machine)의 초작업(supertask)과 관련된 논제는 크게 두 가지다. 하나는 초작업의 최종상태의 논리적 정당성이다. 다른 하나는 아킬레스의 경주가 초작업과 본질적으로 동등한가라는 점이다. 이전에 발표한 글에서 필자는 초작업의 최종상태가 양자역학의 이론적 체계 내에서 모순 없이 이해될 수 있음을 보인 바 있다. 이 글에서는 두 번째 문제를 다룬다. 즉, 초작업의 완수와 아킬레스의 경주는 서로 다른 자유도(degree of freedom)를 가지고 있어 이들 사이에 일대일 대응이 성립하지 않음을 보인다. 또한, 일반적으로 초작업에 대한 비결정적 진술은 시간에 의존하는 물리적 사건이 모두 만족시켜야 하는 물리학의 원리 중 하나인 시간역전 대칭성(time reversal symmetry)을 만족시키지 못함을 보인다. 이와 같은 논의를 바탕으로, 무한기계의 초작업을 논거로 제논 역설의 논리적 오류를 지적하는 신제논류 역설의 주장이 성립할 수 없음을 보이고, 또한 시간의 흐름을 포함하는 진술의 논리적 정당성을 판단하는 하나의 필요조건으로 시간역전 대칭성을 제시한다김종일**攀** 전북대학교 자연과학대학 과학학과 교수.攀攀
저해제와 화학 수식에 의한 초파리 myo-inositol-1-phosphate synthase 효소활성 억제양상 분석

Recombinant myo-inositol-1-phosphate synthase (MIPS) of Drosophila melanogaster expressed in E. coli was purified to apparent homogeneity by a single step of His-affinity column chromatography. Addition of the structural analogs of inositol-1-phosphate such as 2-deoxyglucose-6-phosphate and glucitol-6-phosphate caused to inhibition of the enzyme activity as a competitive manner. When the enzyme was chemically modified with phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride (PMSF), specifically reacted with serine residue on the enzyme, the activity was eliminated. Phenylglyoxal, which would modify guanidino group of arginine, did not affect the MIPS activity to a greater extent. This demonstrates that serine residues of enzyme would participate in a important function of the MIPS activity. The enzyme activity was inhibited by the modifier which chemically modified thiol group of cysteine. The ability to titrate the activity of MIPS with substoichiometric amounts of modification reagent and an essentially complete loss of enzyme activity on the addition of stoichiometric amount of these materials suggests that modification of amino acid residue is responsible for the loss of enzyme activity.
Diesel Engines에서 Cyclone 集塵이 Engine 性能에 미치는 影響

It is generally acknowledged that the amount of harmful substances in the exhaust gases of diesel engines are small compared with those of gasoline engines. On the other hand, as the exhaust gases of diesel engines contain large amount of soots or carbon particles, it is essential to reduce these amount of particles for air pollution. In this investigation the effect of cyclone for the reducing device of carbon particles in diesel engine exhaust gases was studied. A cyclone dust collector is a very simple construction without moving parts which separates fine solid particles from the turbulent rotational flow by means of the centurifugal force. The main factor of the velocity components which acts upon the pressure drop and the efficiency of the separation for the fine solid particles is a tangential velocity. In this paper, using an analytical formula of the tangential velocity which was derived from the Navier-Stokes equations, the effect of cyclone for the eliminator and the pressure drop was studied.

The solid state diffusion joining of ZrO₂to AISI 304 stainless steel produced using Cu interlayer was studied between 900℃ and 1050℃ for times ranging from 30 min to 120min. The joining was carried out in Argon atomospher with the materials in the shape of discs, maintained in contact under a pressure between 30㎫ and 100㎫. Reaction bond consisting of ZrO₂/Cu was dominated by the surface reaction with a undetectable very thin layer. On the metal side, Cu/stainless joining was dependent on the diffusion of Cr and Fe elements of stainless steel to Cu interlayer. Furthermore it was found that Cr and Fe elements in stainless steel were diffused to ZrO₂/Cu joint under the good bonding reaction. The maximum shear strength about 30㎫ was obtained in the couple bonded at 1000℃ for 60min under pressure 50㎫.

This research was undertaken to study the mineralogy, and the optimum conditions for uranium leaching and extraction from the Okchon system graphite ores in the Kumsan areas. A research has been needed to study the refining process for the effective leaching and extraction from uranium ores in the Kumsan area which has more uranium deposits than any other area. By the mineralogical study with the powder X-ray diffraction method, primary uranium minerals are uraninite, brannerite, coffinite etc. and secondary uranium minerals are uranocircite, niobium uranium oxide, carnotite, toberite etc. has developed in the studied area uranium ores. The volumetric ratio of the primary and the secondary uranium minerals are approximatly 1 : 5. In this experiment, the uranium-bearing graphite in the Kumsan area was milled with a jaw crusher and ballmill. This milled uranium-bearing graphite was leached by sulfuric acid and from this sulfuric acid-leaching solution, uranium was extracted by Amberlite LA-1 in kerosene. The results are as follows: (1) The optimum results in the leaching process are : acidity pH = 1.0, temperature : 25.0℃, particle size : -80+120 mesh, leaching time : 24 hours, pulp density : 50% solid (2) A good pH range for uranium extraction was between 0.8 and 1.3. (3) The uranium distribution coefficient increases in direct proportional to the concentration of the Amberlite LA-1 as extractive agent. (4) The optimum time at 200rpm was 15 minutes.

In this paper. we propose the trellis-coded spread spectrum communication system using a quadruple expanded signal set for mobile communications. In 1982. the trellis-coded modulation (TCM) method was developed by Ungervoeck for power and bandwidth efficient communication. In order to apply the spread spectrum to TCM. we will perform the quadruple signal set expantion and set partition. We investigte the performance of the trellis-coded spread spectrum communication system with quadruple signal set expantion at mobile communications. In this system. we can improve the coding fain in the spread spectrum.
