Degree of Freedom and Time Reversal Symmetryof Supertask 문】제논 역설에 논리적 문제점이 있음을 지적하기 위해 만들어진 신제논류 역설에 등장하는 무한기계(infinite machine)의 초작업(supertask)과 관련된 논제는 크게 두 가지다. 하나는 초작업의 최종상태의 논리적 정당성이다. 다른 하나는 아킬레스의 경주가 초작업과 본질적으로 동등한가라는 점이다. 이전에 발표한 글에서 필자는 초작업의 최종상태가 양자역학의 이론적 체계 내에서 모순 없이 이해될 수 있음을 보인 바 있다. 이 글에서는 두 번째 문제를 다룬다. 즉, 초작업의 완수와 아킬레스의 경주는 서로 다른 자유도(degree of freedom)를 가지고 있어 이들 사이에 일대일 대응이 성립하지 않음을 보인다. 또한, 일반적으로 초작업에 대한 비결정적 진술은 시간에 의존하는 물리적 사건이 모두 만족시켜야 하는 물리학의 원리 중 하나인 시간역전 대칭성(time reversal symmetry)을 만족시키지 못함을 보인다. 이와 같은 논의를 바탕으로, 무한기계의 초작업을 논거로 제논 역설의 논리적 오류를 지적하는 신제논류 역설의 주장이 성립할 수 없음을 보이고, 또한 시간의 흐름을 포함하는 진술의 논리적 정당성을 판단하는 하나의 필요조건으로 시간역전 대칭성을 제시한다김종일**攀** 전북대학교 자연과학대학 과학학과 교수.攀攀

The solid state diffusion joining of ZrO₂to AISI 304 stainless steel produced using Cu interlayer was studied between 900℃ and 1050℃ for times ranging from 30 min to 120min. The joining was carried out in Argon atomospher with the materials in the shape of discs, maintained in contact under a pressure between 30㎫ and 100㎫. Reaction bond consisting of ZrO₂/Cu was dominated by the surface reaction with a undetectable very thin layer. On the metal side, Cu/stainless joining was dependent on the diffusion of Cr and Fe elements of stainless steel to Cu interlayer. Furthermore it was found that Cr and Fe elements in stainless steel were diffused to ZrO₂/Cu joint under the good bonding reaction. The maximum shear strength about 30㎫ was obtained in the couple bonded at 1000℃ for 60min under pressure 50㎫.

A large number of variables such as height, width, shape, location, conductivity of materials, inlet temperature, exhaust flow rate, air temperature, humidity, wind velocity and direction, involved in determining the characteristics of a chimney in Ondol has an accurate, theoretical approach almost impossible. However, of these variables, the most important ones are the temperature and the flow rate of the flue gas. This paper deals with the effect of chimney length on thermal efficiency. An experimental investigation, using model experiment, was performed in order to find out and improve the thermal efficiency of Ondol. In the experiment, temperature of inlet and outlet, of the radiator besides temperature and gasvelocity at the air hole, chimney inlet and outlet, was studied in the case of long and short chimney respectively. The results show that the chimney length has hardly made an effect on the rising rate of stove outlet temperature (radiator inlet temperature), but deeply effects on the calorific loss through the beginning combustion period only.
Pool에서의 Flash Evaporation 현상에 관하여

Solar loops use water to heat a thermal storage tank containing water too. The cycle employs solar erergv to vaporize the water and the steam drives an engine. For these purpose, flash evaporation experiments in the pool were carried out. If temperature change, due co flash evaporation, is less than 5℃ (error ia less than 5%), the simiplification of Clapeyron equation is correct. An optimum flash-down and cross sectional area of heatstorage for a required steam flow rate were found for steady state conditions. It will be best to use the storage vessel in a shape of frustum cone. With the evaporation of water, the water level will fall. this new level will have a larger cross-sectional area requiring less flash down to reach the saine steam flow rate.

This paper was studied on the effect of the exhaust gas recirculation rate for the exhaust emission gas with various speed in the four cycle, one cylinder, water cooled, natural aspiration and direct injection type. The NOx emission increased with the high load and speed, but in using the EGR method, the emission rate was decreased, and soot emission is increased slowly at law load or at low speed and increased rapidly at high load and EGR rate, also the optimal range of EGR rate was 20 - 30%.
