곤쟁이 , Archaeomysis kokuboi 에 미치는 phenol 의 급성 및 만성독성

Acute and chronic toxicity of phenol on the mortality, long-term survival and respiration rates of the mysid, Archaeomysis kokuboi adult and juvenile were examined. This experiment was conducted by static bioassay procedure with the different salinity at 25℃. In lethal test, the test animals were exposed to 6 different phenol concentrations to determine LC_(50) and LT_(50) (median lethal concentration and time) values. The LC_(50) values with the exposure time for the mysid adult ranged from 31.31ppm to 1.49ppm phenol and for the mysid juvenile ranged from 6.90ppm to 0.26ppm in all experimental groups. Mortality was increased with the decrease of salinity. The 96hr-LC_(50) values at 16, 24 and 32‰ salinity for the mysid adult were 1.49, 2.71 and 4.53ppm phenol, while the values for the mysid juvenile were 0.26, 0.56 and 0.71ppm, respectively. The ratios of 96hr-LC_(50) values for the mysid adult to those for the mysid juvenile at 16, 24 and 32‰ salinity were 5.73, 4.84 and 6.38, respectively. The mysid juveniles were more sensitive to phenol than the mysid adults. Compared LT_(50) values for the mysid adult with those for the mysid juvenile, the LT_(50) values for the mysid adult ranged from 384.7 to 29.0 hours at 1.7∼12.7ppm phenol concentrations and for the mysid juvenile ranged from 132.2 to 18.7 hours at 0.5∼6.0ppm phenol concentrations. The lowest LT_(50) values for the mysid adult and juvenile were showed at the combination of the highest experimental concentration of phenol and the lowest experimental salinity. The mysid juveniles showed lower LT_(50) values than those of adults. The chronic effects of phenol on the mysid at the sublethal effective concentration of phenol were lower in the 32‰ salinity group than 16 or 24‰ salinity groups. Oxygen consumption rates of the mysid adult were decreased with the increase of phenol concentration and exposure time, and decreased significantly in lower salinity at the same concentration of phenol.
간 전이를 동반한 결장암 환자에서 한방치료의 효과 : 8년간의 추적조사를 통한 증례보고

Objectives : The aim of the present study is to derive further studies evaluating the effectiveness of oriental medical treatment on colon cancer patients. We present a case of a patient diagnosed with colon cancer with colon cancer with liver metastasis who has survived more than 8 years. Methods : We followed all of treatments and examination. We prescribed the patient to take HangAm-dan(HAD) three times a day for 5 years and 1 month from January, 2000 to February, 2005. Abdominal computed tomography(CT) was performed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and measuring concentration of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) in blood serum was also performed to monitor therapeutic response. Results : The patient was diagnosed with liver metastasis in September of 1999 but has survived for over 8 years since. Abdomen CT show no interval change. Conclusions : This case may give us a possibility that oriental medical treatment offers potential benefits for patients with colon cancer.
어태치먼트를 이용한 IMZ 임플랜트와 자연치의 연결시 고정유무의 연결형태에 따른 광탄성 응력분석에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to analyze the magnitude and distribution of stress using photoelastic model with the rigid connection using T-block attachment and non-rigid connection using key & keyway attachment. The vertical load of 16 Kg was applied on the central fossa of the tooth, the pontic and the implant, and the pattern and distribution under each condition was analyzed. The following results were obtained : 1. In case of vertical load on the central fossa of the implant, the stress was concentrated at the apex of the implant involving the mesial alveolar bone in both fixed partial denture with the rigid connection and that with the nonrigid connection and the stress concentration at the mesial cervical area of the implant was a little more in the nonrigid connection than in the rigid connection. 2. In case of vertical load on the central fossa of the pontic, the stress was concentrated at the apex of 2nd bicuspid in both 3 unit fixed partial denture with nonrigid connection and that with the rigid connection. The stress was more concentrated at the mesial alveolar bone of the implant, but the stress distribution at the natural teeth more favorable at the rigid connection than at the non-rigid connection in case of 4 unit fixed partial denture. 3. In case of vertical load of the central fossa of the 2nd bicuspid, much stress with 3 fringe order was observed at the apex of the 2nd bicuspid in the 3 unit fixed partial denture, but relatively even stress distribution was observed at the apex of the implant, the 1st and 2nd bicuspid, and the adjacent cuspid in the 4 unit fixed partial denture.
Natural Standard Methodology를 이용한 암 보완대체의학의 근거 및 권고수준에 대한 연구

Objective : We designed this study to analyse the Natural Standard methodology and apply the results to new study and evaluation methods. Methods : We investigated the main stream of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), the methodology of Natural Standard, guideline in CAM, and concrete 35 cancer-related herbs and dietary supplements in 98 ones. Results : There are 35 graded herbs and supplements associated with cancer in natural standard contents: 9 foods, 17 herbs, 7 amino acids, enzymes and vitamins, and 2 herbal mixture formulas. Most of them get a grade of C: unclear or conflicting scientific evidence. Conclusion : Natural Standard aims to provide high-quality, reliable information about CAM therapies to clinicians, patients, and healthcare institutions. The more demands for and use of CAM grows, the more the needs for related studies increases. According to this international and multidisciplinary collaborative effort, we have to develop how to study and evaluate the results. We need guidelines in association with the evidence and recommendations of CAM.
Al(III) 응집제에 의한 하수처리수 중의 유기물 성상 변화

Control degree and property changes of dissolved organic matter (DOM) were conducted by coagulation of chemical treatment for 2 sewage treatment plants with different technical methods. As the result, SUVA value of the second treated water (supernatant of the second settling pond after biological treatment) was increased and DOC was reduced in comparison with supplied raw water. And, SUVA value and DOC were reduced by coagulation after coagulation treatment of the second treated water. Properties of dissolved organic matter for 2 sewage treatment plants's DOC were divided. As the result, there was lots of hydrophilic component with hydrophilicity in case of plant A. In case of the second treated water, Plant A showed fulvic acid with little molecular weight was reduced among the hydrophobic component with hydrophobicity, but numic acide with lots of molecular weight was increased. However, in case of plant B, both fulvic acid with little molecular weight and humic acid with lots of molecular weight were increased among the hydrophobic components with hydrophilicity. Before the operation of phosphorus facility, properties of dissolved organic matter after biodegradation with effluent water showed hydrophilic components were reduced and hydrophobic components were increased. However, after coagulation treatment of the second treated water, hydrophilic components and hydrophobic components were outstandingly decreased or increased. During the biodegradation after coagulation treatment, hydrophilic components were significantly decreased and hydrophobic components were increased.
