Smart earthwork technology integrates advanced technologies such as IoT, big data, and ICT into earthworks, aiming to improve productivity and maximize safety. In particular, compaction measurement in earthworks is a critical factor directly impacting construction quality and productivity. However, compaction measurements are still performed using analog methods, such as PBT (Plate Bearing Test) and Field Density Test. These traditional methods face limitations, including prolonged measurement times, document-based data collection, and point-based measurement, resulting in low productivity and an inability to monitor real-time compaction data or maintain comprehensive historical records. Among compaction measurement methods, the DCPT (Dynamic Cone Penetration Test) has been actively researched due to its simplicity and faster testing speed, making it a potential replacement for traditional methods. Recently, IoT-based DCP equipment has been developed, offering advantages such as reduced testing time, single-operator usability, cost efficiency, mobile-based data management, and real-time data monitoring. In this study, a web-based system was developed to visualize IoT-based DCPT data in real time. The visualization system includes features for displaying location-based data, interpolating point-based compaction data to visualize surface-wide compaction information across earthwork sites, and generating reports. This system is expected to enable precise assessment of compaction and efficient process management in earthwork sites, significantly enhancing overall productivity and construction quality.

Dissolved oxygen (DO) is an essential variable to accomodate the aerobic environment for the removal of organics, nitrogen, and phosphorus in a biological nutrient removal process. The proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller has been commonly used to control DO in a wastewater treatment plant due to simplicity and robustness. However, it is difficult to tune gains of the controller and it can not reflect uncertainties, nonlinearities, and time-varying parameters sufficiently. Especially, DO dynamics in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) highly varies because of batch operation and the SBR process has little buffer capacity for surplus aeration in the secondary aeration period. The PID controller shows the poor control performance for DO in the secondary aeration period and great maximum overshoot, oscillations, and root mean square error. The autoregressive with exogenous input (ARX) controller of the first order of inputs shows the good performance, but a little unstability due to the control law of minimum variance in the latter period of the first aeration, in which DO dynamics highly varies. The ARX of the second order of inputs shows the better control performance, stability, and softening the control actions. By applying an adaptive control strategy of the dual set-point in the control of DO, the reduced air flow and enhanced denitrification could be obtained.

Background/Aims: A recent clinical trial demonstrated that triple anti-platelet therapy resulted in significantly larger minimal luminal diameter and lower restenosis rate compared with conventional therapy after bare-metal stent (BMS) implantation. However, it is uncertain that this result will be repeated after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation, especially with low-dose cilostazol therapy. Thus, we performed a prospective, randomized study to evaluate the effectiveness of long-term triple therapy with low-dose cilostazol after DES implantation. Methods: We analyzed 109 patients (132 lesion) prospectively, who underwent successful coronary DES implantation. The patients were divided into two groups according to combined anti-platelet regimen: triple combination of aspirin, clopidogrel, and low-dose cilostazol (50 mg/bid) (Group I, n=56) or dual combination of aspirin and clopidogrel (Group II, n=53) for 6 months. The minimal luminal diameter and binary restenosis rate were compared at 6-month follow-up by coronary angiogram. The rates of stent thrombosis, major adverse cardiac events (MACE), and bleeding complication were also analyzed. Results: The baseline clinical and angiographic characteristics were not different between the two groups. Angiographic follow-up was performed in 80 patients (109 lesions, 74%). The minimal luminal diameter at 6 month was 2.25±0.63 mm in group I and 2.30±0.56 mm in group II (p=0.742). Restenosis occurred in 4 patients (7.2%) in group I and 3 patients (5.6%) in group II (p=0.611). There were no differences in the rates of stent thrombosis, MACE, or bleeding complications between the two groups. Conclusions: Long-term triple anti-platelet therapy with low-dose cilostazol after DES implantation was not effective in obtaining larger minimal luminal diameter or reducing restenosis rate, but it was used safely without increasing bleeding complication.(Korean J Med 74:368-375, 2008)

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of female participants in mixed-gender futsal clubs and to identify the limitations they face in such environments. For this purpose, eight female members who have been continuously participating in mixed-gender futsal clubs for more than one year were selected as research participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and relevant document collection, and thematic analysis was conducted based on the gathered data. The main findings are as follows. First, female participants experienced the formation of a cooperative club culture, improvement in skills through interactions with male participants, and the reinforcement of achievement and motivation for continued participation. Second, the study identified the specific challenges female participants face within mixed-gender futsal activities. These challenges included excessive paternalism and hidden discrimination, decreased interest due to physical limitations and skill gaps, and the influence of social biases and prejudiced views towards women in sports.
ILM 구현을 위한 Database 기반의 Archiving System 구축

IT 환경이 급속도로 발전해 가고 있다. 기업 내에서 생성 및 보관되는 데이터의 양은 시간이 흐름에 따라 급격히 증가하고 있으며, 기업의 의사결정에 중요한 데이터의 가치는 변화를 거듭한다. 데이터의 증가는 곧 그것을 관리하는 비용의 증가를 불러오고, 방대한 데이터 속에서 진정한 정보의 가치를 창출하는 것이 어려운 상황에 직면해 있다. 이러한 기업의 비즈니스 프로세스에 맞춰 효과적인 ILM(Information Lifecycle Management)의 구현은 반드시 필요하다. 본 연구는 데이터의 가치를 보다 효과적이며 비용 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 ILM 의 구현을 위해 Database 기반의 Archiving System 구축 방법론을 제시하고 이를 바탕으로 실제 ILM 이 구현된 기업의 구축 효과 및 성능 평가를 통해 그 타당성에 대하여 연구하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다.
