제주도 김통정이야기의 당신화 및 전설로의 변용양상

김통정은 제주도에서 여․몽연합군에 대항해 끝까지 항전을 벌였던 삼별초의 우두머리로 역사적 인물이다. 하지만 제주도에서 그는 단순한 역사적 인물만이 아니라 지역민들의 신앙대상인 堂神으로 나타나기도 하고 민중영웅의 모습으로 전설의 주인공이 되어 나타나기도 한다. 따라서 김통정이야기는 역사적 사실로서의 이야기일 수 있고, 당굿에서 신격을 섬기는 당신화로서의 이야기일 수 있고, 민중의 의식을 담은 채 전설적 인물로 변용되어 비범한 행위를 하는 인물의 이야기가 되기도 한다.

Objectives : The three symptom clusters of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are reexperience, avoidance, and hyperarousal. Alcohol use disorders frequently co-occur with PTSD, and possible functional correlations are suspected. Scholarly evaluation of the differences between the symptoms of PTSD and those of alcohol problems may be useful in understanding the pathophysiology of the comorbidity. Methods : We recruited Vietnam veterans with PTSD (n=97) and without PTSD (n=132). The alcohol use disorder identification test (AUDIT), and clinician-administered PTSD scale (CAPS) were administered to participants. The PTSD group was divided into two categories: those with PTSD only (n=57) and those with concurrent alcohol-related problems (n=40). Results : The PTSD group showed higher AUDIT scores compared to the control group. In the PTSD group, participants with alcohol problems had a severer symptoms of recurrent dream and sleep disturbance symptoms compared to the PTSD only group. No significant differences were found in the three major symptom clusters of PTSD. Conclusion : These findings support the proposed existence of a functional correlation between PTSD and alcohol use disorder. Clinicians should carefully evaluate and treat comorbid alcohol use disorder in patients with PTSD.

무속신화에 나타난 장자형 인물의 존재양상과 성격

There are various groups of characters in shamanism mythology. The person who pays particular attention in this article is a character type of millionaire. A character type of millionaire is a villain who does evil on the basis of wealth and ends up in conflict with God, and appears in many different forms in the mythology. The 'punishment of millionaire' tale of Shamanism mythology is closely related to <legend of Jangja-pond>. There are two related aspects. The <legend of Jangja-pond> is a form of Shamanism mythology that appears as a part of the myth of shamanism, the same evil figure character as the millionaire of legend of Jangja-pond. A character type of millionaire in shamanism mythology has a wide variety of data and forms, and various processes according to punishment. Therefore, the punishment of millionaire appearing in <legend of Jangja-pond> was recognized as a specialization of a certain part of 'punishment of millionaire' tale of shamanism mythology. Based on this review of the data, I understood that there were three stages of variation when I grasped the first generation of mythology in consideration of the composition of world creation myth. The first stage is a form in which a creator, who appeared together with a god or a creator who assisted creation and ordination, was punished by the creator while providing the source of evil while deceiving or interfering with the creator. The next step is to challenge the gods as the human world becomes prosperous and the evil floods while the human world takes its place, and eventually the gods are destroyed by certain wicked people or mankind. Going one step further, the relationship between God and human being is clearly established, and it is the stage in which the wicked is devoted to the appearance of God by fearing that he will be punished by disease or death by God. 무속신화에는 다양한 인물군이 등장한다. 이 글에서 특히 주목하는 인물형은 장자형 인물이다. 장자형 인물은 부를 바탕으로 악한 행위를 일삼고 신과 대립하다가 결국 신에게 징치당하게 되는 악인형 인물로, 여러 무속신화에 다양한 모습으로 등장한다. <천지왕본풀이>의 수명장자, <이공본풀이>의 자인장자, <셍굿>의 천년두레천년장자, <성주굿>의 장재아비, <성인노리푸념>의 당주애비, <손님굿>의 김정승네 내외, <장자풀이>의 사마장자 등이 이에 해당한다. 이들 무속신화에 나타난 장자형 인물의 특징으로는 <장자못전설>의 장자와도 친연성이 뚜렷한 점, 일정 지역을 기반으로 악행으로 부를 축적해온 악인의 전형성을 보인다는 점, 표면적으로는 악행 때문으로 징치되나 그 이면에는 원초적인 신의 갈등이 반영되어 있다는 점, 불, 물, 꽃, 죽음 등 다양한 징치 양상이 나타나는 것 등을 알 수 있다. 한편 이런 무속신화의 장자 징치담은 <장자못전설>과 연계성이 뚜렷하다. 그 형태는 두 가지로, <장자못전설>이 무속신화에 한 부분으로 이입된 형과 <장자못전설>의 장자와는 차이를 보이나 악인형 인물 성격은 그대로 부합되는 자료형이다. 그 관계성에 있어서는 무속신화의 ‘장자 징치담’은 전체 서사 중 일부에 해당하는데 반해 <장자못전설>의 장자징치담은 서사의 전체에 해당하여 ‘장자 징치담’의 특정 부분이 특화되어 전설화된 것이 <장자못전설>일 것으로 파악했다. 아울러 무속신화의 장자형 인물은 형태도 다양하고 징치에 따른 여러 과정이 폭넓게 나타나 <장자못전설>의 장자 징치가 ‘장자 징치담’에 거꾸로 영향을 주었을 가능성은 없다고 보았다. 무속신화의 장자형 인물에 대한 자료 검토를 바탕으로 장자 징치담이 세 단계 변이가 진행되었을 것으로 이해했다. 첫 단계는 창조신을 돕던 부신(副神) 또는 창조신과 함께 창조작업을 하던 존재가 창조신을 속이고 악의 근원을 제공하다가 창조신에게 징벌을 받는 형태, 그 다음 단계로는 인간세상에 악이 범람하고 신에게 도전하다가 신에게 특정 악인 또는 인류가 징치를 당하는 단계, 한 단계 더 나아가 신과 인간의 관계가 정립되면서 악인이 신에 의해 징벌을 받을까 두려워 신을 위무하는 단계 등으로 전개되는 양상으로 파악했다. 우리 자료는 첫 단계의 것은 창세신화에 흔적이 부분적으로 남아있고, 두 번째와 세 번째 단계에 해당하는 자료가 중심이 된다고 하였다.

지형창조 거인설화의 성격과 본질

This paper mainly focus on supplement in research of the giant myth in topography creation. Until recently the creation of the universe and the topography myths were separately understood as god creating universe and giants in topography creation. However the example research made in other countries show that the giant myths are more in relation with the creation of the universe. Therefor there needs to be an interest in study of our myth and see any relations between the two. So this paper gathers passed on myths from all parts of the world and divide them into the type that coming into being world from the carcass and the type of universe orderly categories. However type that coming into being world from the carcass does not appear in our topography myth, therefor decided to extend the myth to the universe orderly <Jungbumyojokgoga> and <Reouhteoi> and seek for understanding. Especially 1) Is there any universe creation trace in our giant myth? 2) Is there any giant myth trace in our universe creation? based on these two questions and the traditional literature of <Cheonjiwangbonpuli>, <Seoulmundaehalmang> and <Okgue river's pearl rock>, when finding answers. Also the paper is detailed as following. First, the possibility of omission in the creation god's work of topographic creation. Second, the possibility of the giant of topography myth to be deformed and reduced during the transmission. Third, the possibility of drop out in the universe creation yet minimized topographic myth and the action to be more supporting than leading. 이 글은 우리의 지형창조 거인설화에 대해 연구가 부족했던 점들을 보완하고자 마련한 글이다. 지금까지 우리 거인설화 자료를 파악함에 있어 우주기원은 창세신의 창조작업에 의해 이루어지고 지형창조는 설문대할망이나 마고할미 등 별개의 거인신이 있어 그 작업을 완성하는 것으로 파악해왔다. 하지만 외국의 창조신화 사례를 보면 지형창조 거인설화가 우주기원신화의 한 부분으로 나타나고 있어 우리의 경우 또한 우주창조 작업과 연계되어 지형창조가 이루어졌을 가능성을 검토할 필요가 있다. 그래서 이 글에서는 세계 곳곳에서 전승되는 우주창조 작업과 연계 양상을 보이는 지형창조신화 자료들을 모아 사체화생형과 우주정돈형으로 구분 정리하였다. 이 중 사체화생형의 자료는 우리 지형창조신화에는 나타나지 않기에 <중부묘족고가>와 <러어터이> 등 우주정돈형의 자료를 바탕으로 우리 지형창조신화를 이해하는데 바탕으로 삼았다. 특히 1)우리의 우주창조 거인신에게 지형창조의 흔적을 찾을 수 있는가? 2)우리의 지형형성 거인신들에게 우주창조의 면모는 있는가? 하는 두 가지 의문을 중심으로 <천지왕본풀이>, <설문대할망>, <옥계천의 진주석> 등을 자료 양상을 따져 첫째, 창세신 스스로 우주창조 작업 일환으로 지형창조 행위까지 수행했으나 그 부분이 약화 또는 탈락되었을 가능성, 둘째, 설문대할망과 같은 거인 신격 스스로가 우주창조신의 역할까지를 수행했으나 후대로 전승되면서 변모되어 <설문대할망> 자료와 같이 지역적으로 한정시키고 지형형성에 초점을 맞추는 형태로 변형되었을 가능성, 셋째, 본래 우주창조작업을 총괄하던 창조신 부분은 탈락된 채 창세신을 돕는 부신적 성격의 존재에 의한 지형창조만 남았을 가능성이 있음을 구체적으로 제시하였다.

무속신화에 나타난 죽음 인도신, 저승차사의 인물 형상화 양상

이 글은 망자의 넋을 죽음의 세계로 인도하는 신인 저승차사의 인물 형상화 양상을 파악하고자 하는 글이다. 우리의 무속신화에서는 저승차사가 등장하는 자료가 아주 폭넓게 존재하며, 자료마다 인물 형상화 양상도 다양한 면모를 보인다. 우리 무속신화에서 저승차사가 중요하게 등장하는 무가로는 <차사본풀이> 계 자료, <맹감본풀이>계 자료, <성주무가>계 자료 등의 서사무가와 <시무굿> 을 비롯한 교술무가 자료, 희극적 성격을 지닌 <사재삼성> 등이 있어, 다양한 무가 장르에서 폭넓게 저승차사 인물형이 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있다. 저승차사 가 망자를 잡아가는 존재로서의 본질적인 기능을 수행하는 양상은 무가 장르별로 큰 차이가 없으 나 굿거리의 제차에 따라서 형상화되는 양상은 다소 차이를 보인다. 아울러 저승차사는 반드시 죽음의 세계인 저승이 아니더라도 지상계 인물을 천상계로 인도하는 경우에도 등장하는 모습을 찾아볼 수 있다. 무속신화 자료를 통해본 저승차사의 인물 형상화 양상은 가)죽음 인도신의 기능과 성격을 온전히 수행하는 존재로 형상화 나)뇌물을 받고 수명을 연장해주 는 식의 부정적 존재로 형상화, 다)무능하고 희화화된 존재로의 형상화 등 세 가지 형태로 나타나며, 이런 다양한 형상화의 가능 까닭은 죽음의 세계로 인도하 는 신격으로서 신앙시되는 한편 인간의 입장에서 죽음을 회피하고자 하는 의식 이 함께 반영되어 있다는 점, 죄인을 호송하는 유사 기능을 수행하는 존재인 ‘사령형 인물’이 여러 고전서사에 다양하게 분포하고 있어 그 성격상 서로 연계 되면서 통속적인 인물형에 대한 인식을 공유했기 때문으로 파악했다. This article is provided to determine the god figures symbolizing aspects of the death angel to guide the souls of the deceased into the world of death. The death angel appeared very wide presence, shaping every material aspect figures also show a variety of aspects in our shamanic mythology data. The data of death angel that appeared to the shamanic mythology is <Chasabonpuri> line data, <Maenggambonpuri> line data, <Sungjumuga> line data, gyosul shaman song such as including <Simugut>, shaman song of comic character such as <Sajaesamsung>. It can be seen that the death angel figure type appears widely in various shamanic mythology genre. Figures symbolizing the death angel through the aspect of the shamanic mythology data is appeared in three forms, such as by the presence of shaping. It is a)death delivery symbolizing the divine nature to exist and function perfectly to perform, b)symbolizing the presence of a negative type that receives a bribe to extend the life c)Incompetent and shaped by the presence of a travesty incompetence and a travesty. Shaping various possible cause of this is that the conscious to avoid death from the hand of a human being during religious position as a deity that led to the death of the world reflect together, in the presence of performing a similar function to escort the prisoner commander type the figures are variously distributed in several classic narrative was identified as due to its nature as linked to each other was shared awareness of the vulgar type of person.

‘선류몽’담의 거인설화적 성격

‘旋流夢’이란 어떤 이가 山頂에 올라가 小便을 누었는데, 그것이 흘러내려 온 장안이나 나라를 잠기게 하는 꿈을 꾼다고 하는 화소이다. 이런 ‘선류몽’담에 대해서는 지금까지 선학들에 의해 몇 차례 논급은 되었지만 그다지 주목을 받지는 못하였다. 김열규, 장덕순, 임동권 등에 의해 자료의 소개와 정리 및 간략한 해설 정도가 언급되었을 뿐이었다. 그런데 실상 이 선류몽은 그 자료가 지니는 의미가 단순하지 않다고 생각된다. 첫째, 선류몽은 비정상적인 상황에서 왕위를 계승하는 인물과 결부되어 그 당위성을 부여하는 것으로 나타난다는 점에서 건국신화보다는 못하지만 아주 중요한 신화적 성격을 지닌 자료로 판단되는 것이다. 둘째, 선류몽은 그 성격상 건국신화 이전의 신화 형태였을 것으로 추정되는 거인설화와 밀접한 모습을 보여주고 있어 그것의 후대적 변모양상 또는 잔존양상으로 파악될 수 있다는 점에서 중요하다.
