Glial cells are activated in neuropathy and play a key role in hyperalgesia and allodynia. This study was performed to determine whether minocycline could attenuate heat hyperalgesia and mechanical allodynia, and how glial cell activation and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) were regulated by minocycline in a model of chronic constriction of sciatic nerve (CCI). When minocycline (50 mg/kg, oral) was daily administered from 1 day before to 9 days after ligation, heat hyperalgesia and mechanical allodynia were attenuated. Furthermore, when minocycline treatment was initiated 1 or 3 days after ligation, attenuation of the hypersensitive behavior was still robust. However, the effect of attenuation was less when minocycline was started from day 5. In order to elucidate the mechanism of pain attenuation by minocycline, we examined the changes of glia and NF-kappaB, and found that attenuated hyperalgesia and allodynia by minocycline was accompanied by reduced microglial activation. Furthermore, the number of NF-kappaB immunoreactive cells increased after CCI treatment and this increase was attenuated by minocycline. We also observed translocation of NF-kappaB into the nuclei of activated glial cells. These results suggest that minocycline inhibits activation of glial cells and NF-kappaB, thereby attenuating the development of behavioral hypersensitivity to stimuli.

This study focuses on fashion adoption behavior of adolescents. The impact of their clothing involvement factors and socio-demographic factors on their fashion adoption behavior was examined. Three core issues were identified for empirical test: 1) Elements of clothing involvement for adolescents; 2) Fashion adoption behavior of adolescents; 3) Impact of clothing involvement elements on fashion adoption behavior. The Likert Type questionnaires were used to measure clothing involvement and fashion adoption behavior. The data of 472 samples drawn from middle and high school students in Taegu Metropolitan City were analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA, Scheff□ test, t-test and regression analysis. Main results of the study are as follows. 1.Concept of the clothing involvement is composed of five dimensions: importance, fashion, self-expression, pleasure, and buying risk. 2.Socio-demographic factors do influence fashion adoption behavior. Average monthly pocket money, expenditures on clothes and household income are found to have statistically significant impacts on the adoption behavior. Female students are more fashion-oriented than male students. 3.The clothing involvement elements are found to have significant influences on fashion adoption behavior: fashion, importance and self-expression elements on fashion innovation; fashion, importance and pleasure elements on fashion information search. 3D spheroid cell culture is widely used for various biomedical applications such as drug screening, cell therapy, and tissue regeneration due to higher bio-similarity compared to conventional 2D culture. In this study, effective 3D cell culture dishes were designed by optimizing the structure and coating stability of hexanoyl glycol chitosan (HGC) materials with ultra-low attachment (ULA) characteristics, and their effectiveness was evaluated. Various HGCs with different substitution ratios were synthesized and their coating stability and 3D cell culture ability were compared. In addition, ULA mesh-pattern culture dishes capable of mass-production of 3D spheroids of various and uniform sizes were produced by utilizing meshes of various specifications. The HGC polymer with a substitution ratio of 36% or more showed high stability and spheroid formation ability as a ULA coating material, and the mesh-pattern culture dishes were very effective in mass-production of cell spheroids of uniform and controlled sizes.

전자교과서는 다양한 기술로 학습자와의 상호작용이 가능하며 학습자의 수준에 맞는 학습지원이 가능하다. 그러나 전자교과서에서의 노트 기능이 기존의 필기 방식의 노트보다 여러 장점과 기능의 활용 가능에도 불구하고 아직 미흡한 현실이다. 이에 본 논문은 스케치 기반(Sketch-based)의 레이아웃을 제공함으로서 사용자의 의도에 따른 동적(Dynamic) 노트를 제안하고 있다. 기존의 전자교과서에서 부수적인 기능으로의 간단한 메모가 아니라 사용자의 의도에 따른 내용과 구성이 가능한 노트의 지원이 필요하다. 그러므로 제안하는 시스템은 전자교과서에서 스케치 기반의 인터페이스를 제공하여 사용자가 원하는 내용과 레이아웃을 재구성할 수 있는 노트를 용이하게 저작할 수 있다.
