신 사구체 질환에서 Nephrin, Glomerular Epithelial Cell Protein-1 (GLEPP1) 및 WT-1 발현에 관한 연구

Glomerular epithelial cell protein-1 (GLEPP1) and WT-1 expressed in mature visceral glomerular epithelial cell (VGEC) is required for maintenance of the mature status of VGEC. Nephrin protein is located at the filtration slit and regarded as a molecular component of the slit diaphragm. Alterations of these proteins in proteinuric diseases are not clearly defined. Methods : We investigated the expression of GLEPP1, WT-1 and nephrin in 28 renal biopsies diagnosed with minimal change nephropathy (n=10), focal glomerulosclerosis (n=10) and membranous nephritis (n=8) by immunohistochemical staining. Normal control biopsies were obtained from six nephrectomy specimens. Results : The patients consisted of 15 males and 13 females. The mean age was 40.7 years. Nephrotic range proteinuria (≥3.5 g/day) was noted in 15 (54%) patients. GLEPP1 and nephrin expression were significantly decreased in patients as compared with those of the controls (p<0.05). The mean number of WT-1 expressing cells per glomerulus was also significantly decreased in patients as compared with those of the controls (p<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the number of WT-1 expressing cells among the disease groups. Conclusions : These results suggest that the loss of biological markers of mature VGEC may play an important role in the pathogenesis of proteinuria.

Spinal anesthesia employing 0.5% plain bupivacaine was administered to 40 patients scheduled for lower limb or perineum surgery at kyungpook National University Hospital. Two different volumes(3 and 4 ml) and 2 different injection sites (lumbar interspaces L2/3 and L3/4) were used and their effects were compared. The patients were divided into four groups of 10; group A received 3 ml of bupivacaine at L3/4, group B 3ml at L2/3, group C 4 ml at L3/4 and group D 4 ml at L2/3. The results were as follows. No significant differenct were found between the 4 groups of patients in relation to age, height, weight and length of surgery. The time for maximal sensory spread was 18.0±7.15 and 18.5±7.84 minutes in groups B, and C(p<0.05) and 20.0±7.84 minutes in group D(p<0.01) which showed a significant increase compared with 11.0±5.6 minutes in group A. Singificant differences(p<0.05) in maximal sensory spread levels were observed between groups A, B(T_9) and group C, D(T_7) No significant differences were found among the four groups in relation to the time of maximal motor blockade. Complete motor block was observed in all groups 20 minutes after spinal injection. Changes in blood pressure and pulse rate showed a significant(p<0.05) decrease in 10∼15 minutes, and a very significant(p<0.01) decrease 20∼30 minutes after spinal injection. Four patients experienced hypotension or bradycardia and two patients developed nausea or vomiting, but none of the patients developed a postspinal headache or micturition difficulty.

금붕어 콩팥의 오줌 유통속도 및 산소소비량에 관한 연구

Studies of the Flow-rate of urine along the renal tubule from the gold fish were done. A drop of mineral oil stained with sudan Ⅲ was injected into a single renal tubule by means of micropipette with a tip diameter of about 2 u. Oxygen consumption of renal tissue taken from either cephalic portion or caudal portion of the kidney was measured with warburg manometric apparatus. The results were summarized as follows: 1. A drop of mineral oil injected into the renal tubule moved toward collecting duct with a speed ranging from 10.98μ/min to 157μ/min. 2. Flow rate in isolated single tubules was higher than that of non-isolated tubule. 3. Flow rate was found to be higher in the tubules where flagella movement was active. 4. Droplets of mineral oil injected into the tubular cells were secreted actively into tubular lumen. 5. Oxygen consumption of the kidney slices were found to be increased as concentration of NaCl increased i, e, oxygen consumption was highest in hypertonic solution and lowest in hypotonic solution.

Adoption of English in Korean: Formal Properties

본 논문은 한국어 화자들(speakers)이 영어표현을 차용(Code-mixing)할 때 나타나는 형식상의(formal) 특성을 기술하고, 이를 지배하는 원리를 밝힘으로써, 한국어에서의 영어차용을 이론적 관점에서 체계적으로 설명하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 다음과 같은 주장을 제시한다. 첫째, 한국어에 차용되는 영어표현은 구(phrase)가 아니라 단어(word)로 차용된다. 둘째, 기능범주(functional category)에 속하는 표현은 차용될 수 없고 어휘범주(lexical category)에 속하는 표현들만 차용된다. 셋째, 형식상의 제약은 화자의 이중언어성(bilinguality)에 따라 영향을 받을 수 있다. 이론적인 측면에서 본 논문은 기능범주의 존재를 뒷받침하고, 또한 연어연구에 있어서 단일언어 사용자의 언어능력(monolongual's competence)뿐만 아니라 이중언어사용자의 언어능력(bilingual's competence)도 기술하는 것이 필요하다는 것을 보여 준다.

What is the characteristics of the 29 sheets and the 31 sheets in the variety editions of the biography of Jang-pung-wun-jeon. To find out the answer of this question, the narrative functions of variation were dealt with next several view points; relationship with novel and readers, interest of the military discourses, recognition of Buddhism and that of the real world. The 29 sheets, which has many eliminations and changes in the contents comparing to the 31 sheets, shows the following characteristics. First, the 29 sheets aims at the communication with readers, regarding to the precise expressions, shortening of reading time, and conversation with readers. Second, the 29 sheets is the one which reduces the importance and the interest of the military discourses, regarding to the elimination of the occasions of wars, weakening the expectancy of the heroes, and perceptional weakening of a war. Third, the 29 sheets is the one that weakens the belief in Buddhism, regarding to the character's personality without recognizing miracles in Buddhism. Forth, the 29 sheets reflects the reality which does not recognize the troubles in the society seriously, regarding to the weakening of the character's political conflicts, strengthening of the emperor's power and the weakening of the fear of a war. Therefore, we can certify the facts that the relationship and the meanings of the 29 sheets and the 31 sheets are different each other, even though they both were published in Seoul area, I am assure that these kinds of characteristics will be the bases to illuminate the changes of the readers' preference in Seoul area.
