This paper is a study on the performance characterastics of a lithium bromide water absorption refrigeration system. The equation of the coefficient of performance is derived for a single stage cycle and the value calculated, when the evaporator temperature is at 40 F and the efficiency of the liquid heat exchanger 0.75, under the assumption that the condensate in the condenser and the vapor in the evaporator are saturated. Through the calculated performance curves, the factors which influence the performance characterics are discussed. It showed the coefficient of performance is affected by the condenser temperature and the absorber temperature rather than the generator temperature, and only the water cooling systems are available when flat-plate collectors are used as the energy source of the lithium bromide water cyclye.

In this paper, we have described the performance improvement of surveillance radar to prevent damage or malfunction of surveillance radar RF head unit due to the strong reflections caused by artificial obstacles at close range. We have proposed a technique to improve the performance of the RF head unit as a solution to overcome the limitations of the operating system and improve radar performance. We have verified the effectiveness of the improvement by comparing the before and after results applied to actual system.
H.264/AVC를 위한 파이프라인 이진 산술 부호화기 설계

CABAC(Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding) among various entropy coding schemes which are used to improve compression efficiency in H.264/AVC has a high hardware complexity and the fast calculation is difficult because data dependancy exists in the bit-serial process. In this paper, the proposed architecture efficiently composes the renormalization process of binary arithmetic encoder which is an important part of CABAC used in H.264/AVC. At every clock cycle, the input symbol is encoded regardless of the iteration of the renormalization process for every input symbol. Also, the proposed architecture can deal with the bitsOutstanding up to 127 which is adopted to handle the carry generation problem and encode input symbol without stall. The proposed architecture with three-stage pipeline has been synthesized using the 0.18um Dongbu-Anam standard cell library and can be operated at 290㎒. H.264/AVC에서 압축 효율을 향상시키기 위해 사용된 엔트로피 코딩(entropy coding)중에 CABAC(Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding)은 하드웨어 복잡도가 높고 비트 시리얼 과정에서 데이터 의존도(data dependancy)가 존재하기 때문에 빠른 연산이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC에 사용되는 CABAC의 핵심부분인 이진 산술 부호화기(binary arithmetic encoder)의 정규화 과정을 효율적으로 구성하여 각 입력 심벌 정규화 과정의 반복횟수에 관계없이 매 클럭에 입력 심벌이 부호화 되도록 하였다. 또한 제한된 하드웨어로 인해 발생하는 캐리 발생 문제를 처리하기 위해 채택된 bitsOutstanding을 127까지 처리할 수 있으며 동시에 입력 심벌을 지연(stall) 없이 부호화 할 수 있다. 3단 파이프라인으로 구성된 구조는 동부 아남 0.18㎛ 표준 셀 라이브러리를 사용하여 합성한 결과 최대 290㎒로 동작한다.

Phytophthora capsici Leonian causes root rot and stem blight in pepper (Capsicum spp.) and is a serious threat to pepper production because of its ability to infect every root, stem, and leaf at any developmental stage. Recently, pepper F1cultivars resistant to Phytophthora root rot have been commercially released in Korea. However, despite many studies, the inheritance of resistance remains controversial due to differences in experimental methods, including pepper materials, pathogen isolates, inoculation conditions, and evaluation methods. Our aim was to determine the inheritance of Phytophthora root rot resistance by using three different F2 populations derived from crosses between ‘CM334’ (a resistant male parent) and three Korean landraces, ‘Subicho’ ‘Daehwacho’ and ‘Chilsungcho’ (susceptible female parents), and inoculating them with three different pathogen densities (1 x 104, 1 x 105, and 1 x 106 zoospores/ml). The distribution patterns were varied, depending upon female parental susceptibility as well as inoculum densities. For example, as the inoculum density increased, pepper survival rates decreased. In all of the inheritance analyses, one common dominant resistant gene was participated in resistance to Phytophthora root rot. In addition, we found that a complementary gene, together with the major dominant gene, was necessary for resistance at a high (106) inoculum density, based on a 9:7 (R:S) segregation ratio. This study will be helpful in developing molecular markers linked to genes that are resistant to Phytophthora root rot.

Through the numerical analysis of the effect of velocity, pressure, flow rate, loading capacity, frictional force and humidity in lubricating membrane and incompressible flow and the results of the lubricating characteristics which control the life and performance of machine, the following results can be summarized. 1. In slip flow as in continuous flow, if the height number of contact surface roughness is more than enough, secondary flow(Y₂), frictional force(τ?), loading capacity(Q₂) that are due to the Stoke's Roughness are proportional to the square of height number n. 2. Stoke's Roughness has the effect of increasing the loading capacity and the fluid flow resistance. 3. Stoke's Roughness has the effect of increasing the pressure variety corresponding to the roughness in the incompressible fluid.
