      • Calibration of measured head-related transfer function database

        Some causes and those effects on measurement error of head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) were analyzed. Among different causes of error on HRTF measurement, change of exact location of a listener and corresponding position change of eartips are the most important. The measurement error caused by change of position of a listener and eartips makes notable discontinuities of HRTF in space-frequency domain. For reducing discontinuity of measured HRTF, a method of using moving average and bilinear interpolation was proposed. By introducing a proposed method, detailed spectra which consist of notches and peaks are remained but smoothness of variation of HRTF with respect to change of polar angle is compensated. After applying a proposed calibration method to HRTF with discontinuities, resultant of spectra is well-matched to those of exactly measured HRTF, and the matching-improvement is about 4dB in terms of spectral distortion.

        Memory Die Clustering and Matching for Optimal Voltage Window in Semiconductor

        <P>In this paper, we propose a method to optimize the product performance instantly by utilizing the internal voltage trimming circuit for Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) memory. Specifically, we first define the verification wafer as the internal voltage characteristics using the clustering technique. Second, the optimized voltage conditions are applied to a normal wafer being matched with a verification wafer. The proposed method makes the ability to apply a different voltage trimming condition for each dies internal voltage circuit depending on their characteristics, thereby improving the characteristics of the individual dies and reducing the fail bit count (FBC) further. The experimental results on the real-application case show that our proposed method reduces the FBC by 1%-5%, which contributes yield enhancement and quality improvement of DRAM memory by raising the efficiency of the redundancy cell repair in the repair process.</P>

      • A Text Mining Analysis of Patents and Papers in the Road and Transport Sector for the 4th Industrial Revolution

        This study examined the characteristics of research activities in the road sector via an analysis of patents and papers. For the text mining analysis, this study used keywords that contained the term “highway” and extracted data; 25,306 patents and 11,940 papers were used for the analysis. Along with a paper analysis, there is a 3P (paper, patent and patent) analysis method used to examine papers and patents. The 3P analysis method analyzes patent trends (time series, country, applicant, institution, and so on), original technology patents, the latest technology trends in the field of interest, and research trends by examining and evaluating key patent rights and their technology and utilization values. More specifically, analyzing patents owned by companies and papers published based on data obtained from text mining, allows researchers to compare intellectual property competitiveness by institution and identify a competitor’s research trends. Based on the results, commercialized tech areas and global research activity trends can be identified to establish a technology strategy. In this regard, this study used keywords only related to “highway” and acquired the following analysis results: To begin with, some of the most noteworthy research and development areas in the road and transport sector recently included “traction hybrid battery,” “information navigation date,” and “navigation determination.” This suggests great implications. Thus far, the road and transport section has traditionally researched “Construction of Roads, Railways, or Bridges” in Section E (Fixed Constructions) of the International Patent Classification and supporting works such as the installation of supports for the road or the construction of platforms, snow fences or similar arrangements. This study, however, found that lately, a lot of research is being conducted on systems such as transport control systems, transport safety, transport control radars or similar systems, sonar or Light Detection and ranging system, and anti-collision systems. In addition, as smart toll collection increasingly becomes available, a lot of research in the field of physics is being undertaken on transmission methods for measures, control signals or similar signs, and ticket dispensers or devices to collect tolls and admission fees. In conclusion, based on the above findings, this study was able to identify that more research in the road and transport sector is being conducted on smart toll collection and tech convergence such as physics and systems than traditional civil engineering as today’s world is heading towards the 4th Industrial Revolution.

        Aortic Annulus Detection Based on Deep Learning for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Using Cardiac Computed Tomography

        Background: To propose a deep learning architecture for automatically detecting the complex structure of the aortic annulus plane using cardiac computed tomography (CT) for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed consecutive patients who underwent TAVR between January 2017 and July 2020 at a tertiary medical center. Annulus Detection Permuted AdaIN network (ADPANet) based on a three-dimensional (3D) U-net architecture was developed to detect and localize the aortic annulus plane using cardiac CT. Patients (N = 72) who underwent TAVR between January 2017 and July 2020 at a tertiary medical center were enrolled. Ground truth using a limited dataset was delineated manually by three cardiac radiologists. Training, tuning, and testing sets (70:10:20) were used to build the deep learning model. The performance of ADPANet for detecting the aortic annulus plane was analyzed using the root mean square error (RMSE) and dice similarity coefficient (DSC). Results: In this study, the total dataset consisted of 72 selected scans from patients who underwent TAVR. The RMSE and DSC values for the aortic annulus plane using ADPANet were 55.078 ± 35.794 and 0.496 ± 0.217, respectively. Conclusion: Our deep learning framework was feasible to detect the 3D complex structure of the aortic annulus plane using cardiac CT for TAVR. The performance of our algorithms was higher than other convolutional neural networks.

        가로경관개선이 지가에 미치는 영향요인분석

        Overhead transmission lines placed in a disorder manner in urban areas can cause serious damage to human and material resources when disaster occurs. If the overhead transmission lines will be placed underground, we can secure a safer and more pleasant side walk, improve the urban landscape, and provide a stable power supply. Moreover, we assume that overhead transmission lines affect both the price of land and decisions to measure economic value of affected real estate. However, for insufficient cost, placing power transmission lines underground is not promoted. We assume the fundamental reason for the lack of projects is that there are few studies that have measured the economic benefit of such projects and how they affect local residents. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to research and analyze changes in land prices before and after a project to place transmission lines underground through time series, and to measure how the project influences economic values of land. We chose Deasungro district region, Chuncheon city, Gang Won province, as the subject study area to analyze price differences between the project area and areas of the surroundings in 2010, when the project ended, and experimentally analyze how the project affected price changes through the Hedonic price model. As a result of our study, we found a positive correlation between the project to place transmission lines underground and the price of the land where the project took place. Augmented public benefits from the underground lines have influenced the price of the land. At the same time, the coefficient of regression of the project decreased between 2010 and 2015. Meanwhile, the coefficient of regression of Land Use Condition1 and Land Use Condition2 increased respectively. These results mean that improving public benefits by burying transmission lines affected the prices of the target areas through the land use conditions. Thus, we assume that changes in land values are not because of the value of the project itself, but because those values reflect the characteristics of residential and commercial areas. Recently, evaluation of the value of urban landscapes and safe areas for walking has come into the picture. This study is intended to prove how the underground line project influences the price of the project area, and to discover a new factor impacting prices of land. However, because of a short period for collecting study data, we focus on a cross-section study, and cannot consider the actual prices of the subject areas.

        전통시장 상권크기에 따른 매출 영향요인 분석 : 아케이드 설치여부를 중심으로

        1996년 유통산업의 개방에 따른 대형점포 급증과 교통 및 인터넷의 발달 등 소비패턴의 변화가 빠르게 일어나고 있다. 코로나19로 인해 소비패턴 및 라이프스타일 변화속도는 더욱 가속화될 전망이다. 이에 따라 전통시장 매출은 2005년 32조에서 2018년 23.9조로 감소했다. 정부는 2004년 「재래시장 육성을 위한 특별법」을 제정, 2009년「전통시장 및 상점가 육성을 위한 특별법」으로 개정을 통해 전통시장 활성화를 위한 방문소비자 증가를 위해 시설현대화 및 경영현대화사업 등을 지원하고 있다. 특히 시설현대화 사업 중에서 막대한 비용을 들여 아케이드 설치를 지원하고 있다. 한편, 앞으로 도시계획은 도시공간을 사람들이 방문할 가치가 있는 매력적 공간으로 조성하는 것이 중요하다. 과연 아케이드 설치를 통해 전통시장을 폐쇄된 공간으로 조성하는 것이 전통시장을 매력적인 공간으로 만드는 방법인 것인지에 대해서 의문이 든다. 아케이드를 통한 전통시장의 공간의 개념을 논의하기 위해서는 아케이드가 전통시장 활성화에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 확인할 필요가 있다. 즉, 아케이드가 전통시장의 매출에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 분석해야 한다. 이에 이 연구에서는 전국 1,662개 전통시장에서 아케이드가 매출에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 아케이드는 전통시장의 매출에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것을 확인했다. 2) 지역상권형과 근린상권형과 같은 인접 상권을 대상으로 하는 전통시장의 아케이드는 매출에 부의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인됐다. Consumption patterns are rapidly changing according to the emergence of large market chains and the development of transportation and internet. The pace of changes in lifestyle is expected to accelerate further due to COVID-19. Therefore, traditional market sales decreased by about 8 trillion won in 2018 compared to 2005. The government has been providing gerneral support to the revitalization of traditional markets through facility modernization projects and management modernization projects. In particular, the arcade installation has been supported at a huge cost. However, it is wondered whether creating a traditional market as a closed space through arcade installation is encouraging in future urban planning. In order to discuss the concept of space through arcades, it is necessary to quantitatively analyze the effects of arcades on sales in traditional markets. Therefore, this study analyzed how arcades affect sales in 1,662 traditional markets nationwide. Results are as follows. 1) It was clarifyed that arcades have a negative effect on sales in the entire model of traditional markets. 2) It was confirmed that arcades have a negative effect on sales in traditional markets that target adjacent commercial districts.

        표적 수정이 가능한 사용자 개입 통합 관리 모의 시스템 개발

        탐색기의 센서 영상을 이용하여 최종 표적에 대한 선정을 수동 또는 자동으로 할 수 있는 표적 관리 모의 시스템을 개발하였다. 모의 시스템은 비행체 시스템과 지상 시스템으로 구성하였다. 비행체 시스템은 비행체의 운동역학과 센서 영상을 모의하고 지상 시스템은 표적 템플릿 모의와 지상 제어기를 모의를 수행한다. 비행체의 운동역학은 의사 6자유도를 기반으로 비례항법유도기법을 사용한다. 탐색기의 센서 영상은 알려진 적외선 영상 렌더링 기법을 이용하여 직접 개발하였으며 상용 프로그램과 비교하여 검증하였다. 지상 제어기는 사용자 편의를 위해 임무에 관련된 정보를 가능한 많이 전시할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스로 구성하였다. 최종적으로 표적 격추 임무 모의를 통해 요구하는 성능에 만족함을 확인하였다. We designed a target management integration system that enables us to select the final target manually or automatically from seeker’s sensor image. The integrated system was developed separately for the air vehicle system and the ground system. The air vehicle system simulates the motion dynamics and the sensor image of the air vehicle, and the ground system is composed of the target template image module and the ground control center module. The flight maneuver of the air vehicle is based on pseudo 6-degree of freedom motion equation and the proportional navigation guidance. The sensor image module was developed using the known infrared(IR) image rendering method, and was verified by comparing the rendered image to that of a commercial software. The ground control center module includes an user interface that can display as much information to meet user needs. Finally, we verified the integrated system with simulated impact target mission of the air vehicle, by confirming the final target change and the shot down result of the user’s intervention.
