Trichoderma reesei Sch9 and Yak1 regulate vegetative growth, conidiation, and stress response and induced cellulase production

        Xinxing Lv,Weixin Zhang,Guanjun Chen,Weifeng Liu 한국미생물학회 2015 The journal of microbiology Vol.53 No.4

Protein kinases are key players in controlling many basiccellular processes in almost all the organisms via mediatingsignal transduction processes. In the present study, we characterizedthe cellulolytic Trichoderma reesei orthologs ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae Sch9 and Yak1 by sequence alignmentand functional analysis. The T. reesei Trsch9Δ andTryak1Δ mutant strains displayed a decreased growth rateon different carbon sources and produced less conidia. Theabsence of these two kinases also resulted in different butabnormal polarized apical growth as well as sensitivity tovarious stresses. In addition, disruption of the genes Trsch9 orTryak1 resulted in perturbation of cell wall integrity. Interestingly, while the induced production of cellulases was slightlycompromised in the Trsch9Δ strain, the extracellular productionof cellulases was significantly improved in the absenceof Yak1. The results indicate that TrSch9 and TrYak1play an important role in filamentous growth, stress responseand induced production of cellulases in T. reesei.

Topology design and analysis of compliant mechanisms with composite laminated plates

Xinxing Tong,Wenjie Ge,Yonghong Zhang,Zhenfei Zhao 대한기계학회 2019 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.33 No.2

To improve the small deformation and high stress level in hinge zones of compliant mechanisms with isotropic material, a topology optimization method of compliant mechanisms with composite laminated plates was proposed. Based on the anisotropy and designability of composite laminated plates, a topology optimization model of compliant mechanisms with composite laminated plates was built to maximize the deformable capability. Numerical examples of designing compliant inverters and grippers were investigated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The influence mechanism of layer sequences on topologic shapes, deformation and loading capability were also discussed. The results showed that the deformable capability and stress levels of compliant mechanisms with composite laminated plates were further improved by a reasonable configuration of layer sequences.

        GENERALIZED PRODUCT TOPOLOGY

Wu, Xinxing,Zhu, Peiyong Korean Mathematical Society 2013 대한수학회논문집 Vol.28 No.4

Similarly to Tychonoff product, we introduce the concept of generalized product topology which is different from the notion of product of generalized topologies in [$\acute{A}$. $Cs\acute{a}sz\acute{a}r$, Acta Math. Hungar. 123 (2009), 127-132] for generalized topology and obtain some properties about it. Besides, we prove that connectedness, ${\sigma}$-connectedness and ${\alpha}$-connectedness are all preserved under this product.

Scaling analysis of the pressure suppression containment test facility for the small pressurized water reactor

        Liu, Xinxing,Qi, Xiangjie,Zhang, Nan,Meng, Zhaoming,Sun, Zhongning Korean Nuclear Society 2021 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.53 No.3

The small PWR has been paid more and more attention due to its diversity of application and flexibility in the site selection. However, the large core power density, the small containment space and the rapid accident progress characteristics make it difficult to control the containment pressure like the traditional PWR during the LOCA. The pressure suppression system has been used by the BWR since the early design, which is a suitable technique that can be applied to the small PWR. Since the configuration and operating conditions are different from the BWR, the pressure suppression system should be redesigned for the small PWR. Conducting the experiments on the scale down test facility is a good choice to reproduce the prototypical phenomena in the test facility, which is both economical and reasonable. A systematic scaling method referring to the H2TS method was proposed to determine the geometrical and thermohydraulic parameters of the pressure suppression containment response test facility for the small PWR conceptual design. The containment and the pressure suppression system related thermohydraulic phenomena were analyzed with top-down and bottom-up scaling methods. A set of the scaling criteria were obtained, through which the main parameters of the test facility can be determined.

      • Degrees of Freedom for Complex MIMO Multiple-Way Relay Channel

        Xiao Chen,Yan Zhu,Xinxing Yin,Fangbiao Li,Zhi Xue 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.9 No.11

The amount of diversity or the number of degrees of freedom (DOF) can be increased by multiple antennas in wireless communication systems. In this paper, we study the DOF of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiple-way relay channel. There are two groups of source nodes and several one relay node which are equipped with multiple antennas in this kind of channel. Each source node in one group exchanges independent message with the source node in the other group via the relay node. We first show the upper bound on the total DOF for this channel. Then we extend it to the complex MIMO multiple-way relay channel and present the corresponding upped bound.

        임병걸,LI XINXING,성연호,이시우,김현준,송욱 대한통합의학회 2023 대한통합의학회지 Vol.11 No.2

Purpose : We aimed to evaluate the impact of a exercise with kinect-based mixed reality device (KMR) on physical function, upper extremity disability, fatigue, and quality of life in breast cancer survivors. We hypothesized that this exercise program would improve physical function, physical activity, fatigue, and quality of life. Methods : Thirty-nine breast cancer survivors were randomized to either the KMR exercise group (KE) or the home stretch group (HS). The KE participated in 8 weeks of exercise, exercising 3 times per week, while the HS performed 8 weeks of stretching exercises, also 3 times per week. Before and after the intervention period, participants underwent assessments of physical function, including body composition, chester step test (CST), and hand grip strength (HGS). Additionally, participants completed questionnaires including the international physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ), disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand (DASH) questionnaire, and functional assessment of cancer therapy-breast (FACT-B) questionnaire to measure their physical activity levels, upper extremity disability, and quality of life, respectively. Results : Overall, significant improvements were observed in several shoulder movements, body weight, and physical activity, with no significant interaction effects between groups and time. Furthermore, there was a significant group by time interaction for body weight, left flexion, right flexion, right abduction, and left adduction, as well as for upper extremity disability (K-DASH) and quality of life (FACT-B). Conclusion : In conclusion, the KMR exercise program was found to be effective at improving physical function, upper extremity disability, quality of life, and overall well-being in breast cancer survivors. The significant improvements observed in multiple measures and the significant group by time interactions for various outcomes highlight the potential benefits of this KMR exercise program in promoting a better quality of life for breast cancer survivors.

Effects of Pre- and Post-workout Energy Bar Supplementation on Blood Lactate and Fitness in Young Adults with CrossFit Training: A randomized crossover study

        임병걸,LI XINXING,송욱 대한통합의학회 2023 대한통합의학회지 Vol.11 No.4

Purpose : Energy bars are increasingly popular among active individuals, yet their timing and nutrient combinations' impact on exercise adaptation remains unclear. This study aims to address this knowledge gap by investigating whether the combination of pre- and post-workout supplementation can synergistically enhance fitness and alleviate fatigue in trained CrossFit participants. Investigate if combining pre- and post-workout supplements can enhance fitness and blood lactate management in trained CrossFit participants, potentially improving exercise performance for this group. Methods : In a randomized crossover study, 20 trained CrossFit individuals (11 males, 9 females) completed thrice-weekly 60-minute CrossFit sessions for 3 weeks, with a one-week washout period. Participants were randomly assigned to either a chocolate bar group (CH, 45 g, 225 ㎉) or an energy bar group (ES, 48 g, 238 ㎉, with protein, caffeine, taurine, and BCAAs). For one week, participants consumed two bars of their assigned supplement five minutes before and after workouts. After a washout period, they switched supplements. Blood lactate levels and a visual analog scale (VAS) were assessed before, immediately after, and 30 minutes post-workout. Fitness tests (hand grip, broad jump, sit-ups) were conducted at baseline and 30 minutes post-final workout. Data were analyzed using two-way repeated measures ANOVA (p<.05), 95 % confidence intervals, and magnitude inferences. Results : Hand grip strength (t=-5.60, p=.000), broad jump (t=-3.43, p=.003) and sit up (t=-3.94, p=.001) were significantly increased in the ES group. Compared to CH group, there was a significant time and group interactions for blood lactate level (F=5.51, p=.008) and VAS(F=31.67, p=.000) in the ES group. Conclusion : Pre- and post-workout energy bar supplementation may have a beneficial effect on blood lactate clearance and fitness in trained CrossFit individual. The combination of proprietary supplements taken may provide benefits for removing the blood lactate during high-intensity functional exercise.

Early Plasma Circulating Tumor DNA as a Potential Biomarker of Disease Recurrence in Non-metastatic Prostate Cancer

        Xiaochen Fei,Xinxing Du,Yiming Gong,Jiazhou Liu,Liancheng Fan,Jiayi Wang,Yanqing Wang,Yinjie Zhu,Jiahua Pan,Baijun Dong,Wei Xue 대한암학회 2023 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.55 No.3

Purpose In non-metastatic prostate cancer (nmPCa) setting, it is important to early identify the patients at risk of biochemical recurrence (BCR) for immediate postoperative intervention. Our study aimed to evaluate the potential clinical utility of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for predicting disease recurrence.Materials and Methods This real-world observational study evaluated 161 cases of nmPCa undergoing next-generation sequencing at our institution. A total of 139 ctDNA samples and 31 biopsied tumor tissue underwent genomic profiling. The study endpoint was BCR after radical prostatectomy. Relationships between the ctDNA status and the biochemical progression-free survival (bPFS) were analyzed by log-rank test and multivariate Cox regression. Results Of 161 enrolled patients, 19 (11.8%) harbored deleterious alterations in <i>NCOR2</i>, followed by <i>BRCA2</i> (3.7%), <i>ATR</i> (2.5%), and <i>CDK12</i> (2.5%). Of available pre-operative blood samples (n=139), ctDNA was detectable in 91 (65.5%). Until last follow-up, 56 of 68 patients (85.3%) with detectable ctDNA had achieved BCR, whereas only eight of 39 patients (20.5%) with undetectable ctDNA had achieved BCR. Patients who had undetectable ctDNA experienced significantly longer bPFS compared with those who had detectable ctDNA (not available vs. 8.2 months; hazard ratio, 0.14; p < 0.01). Pre-operative ctDNA status was a significant prognostic factor of disease recurrence. Conclusion Pre-operative ctDNA detection could identify patients at high risk of recurrence and has the potential to inform immediate postoperative interventions, but these approaches remain to be validated in prospective studies. ctDNA studies can provide insights into accurate monitoring and precise treatment rather than simply following routine clinical care.
