Purpose: Predicting the financial distress distribution of an enterprise is important to warn enterprises about their future. Predicting the possibility of financial distress helps companies have action plans to avoid the possibility of bankruptcy. In this study, the author conducted a forecast of the financial distress distribution of enterprises. Research design, data and methodology: The forecasting method is based on Logit and Discriminant analysis models. The data was collected from companies listed on Vietnam Stock Exchange from 2012 to 2020. In which there are both companies suffer from financial distress and non-financial distress. Results: The forecast analysis results show that the Logistic model has better predictability than the Discriminant analysis model. At the same time, the results also indicate three main factors affecting the financial distress of enterprises at all three research stages: (1) Liquidity, (2) Interest payment, and (3) firm size. In addition, at each stage, the impact of factors on financial distress differs. Conclusions: From the results of this study, the author also made several recommendations to help companies better control company operations to avoid falling into financial distress. Adjustments to current assets, debt, and company expansion considerations are the most important factors for companies.

A unified method for the fractional-order proportional-integral controller based on IMC scheme (IMC-FOPI) is proposed. The analytical tuning rules are derived for achieving the performance improvement in terms of both disturbance rejection and set-point tracking. Many illustrative examples are considered to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for both integer and fractional-order processes with time delays. In addition, the robust stability of fractional-order systems are also carried out in order to demonstrate that the proposed controller can hold well the robustness against perturbation uncertainty in the process models.
Surface Modification of Waste-Gypsum Fillers Using Stearic Acid in PVC/Waste-Gypsum Composites
( Vu Giang Nguyen ),( Jin Hwan Go ),( Myung Yul Kim ) 조선대학교 공학기술연구원 2013 공학기술논문지 Vol.6 No.3
The surface modification of waste-gypsum (WG) fillers was investigated by using stearic acid as surfactant. The maximum amount of stearic acid (SA) that linked to the surface of the fillers was determined around 1.8 wt.%. The formation of a calcium stearate layer on the surface of fillers was elucidated by FTIR analyses, X-ray diffraction spectra, and thermal analyses (TGA). Polymer composites based on poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and coated WG fillers were prepared by the different processing instruments such as extruder, injection molding and two-roll mills with various content of the WG fillers. The effect of the addition of uncoated and coated WG fillers on rheology, physico-mechanical properties and morphological development of composites was discussed. The presence of coated WG fillers in mixture strongly affected to the processing parameters such as the decrease of mixing time during processing and the lower melt-viscosity in comparison with uncoated WG fillers. The dispersibility of coated fillers is also better than that of uncoated filler resulting in the higher toughness and the stiffness of composites. Among these composites were investigated, PVC/coated WG composite reached the optimum properties in the ratio of 22.56 wt.% of coated WG fillers.
Parameter identification of a flexible cantilever beam with a moving hub

This paper presents a parameter identification of a flexible beam attached to a translating hub. A dynamic model of the beam-hub system is obtained by applying the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, in which dynamic coupling between the beam and the hub is shown. The continuous model is discretized for utilizing identification purposes by the Galerkin method. Then, the identification process is conducted in the frequency domain along with modal analysis to determine unknown parameters of the system, where a vision system is applied to record the transverse vibrations of the beam. Finally, the validity of the identified parameter is verified by comparison of the measured vibrations of defined points of the beam-hub system with the simulation results.

The performance of poly(DL-lactide-co-glicolide) (PLGA) nanoparticles without surfactant or emulsifiers was investigated by a dialysis method. The size of the PLGA nanoparticles prepared from dimethylacetamide (DMAc) as an intial solvent was smaller than that from acetone. The size of the PLGA nanoparticles from DMAc and acetone were 200.4 133.0 and 642.3 131.1 ㎚, respectively. the elects of initial solvent selected to dissolve the copolymer and the lactide:glycolide ratio were investigated. The PLGA nanoparticles were spherical as revealed by the results of scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy observations. from these results it was shown that PLGS nanoparticles could be fromed by the dialysis method without surfactant. The drug-loading contents and efficiency were also dependent on the lactide:glycolide ratio and initial feeding amount of the drug. A higher lactide ratio resulted in the higher drug loading and higher loading efficiency. However, a higher initial feeding amont of the drug resulted in higher drug loading and lower loading efficiency.

The effect of addition of gypsum on the rheology, physico-mechanical properties, thermal properties and morphology development of polymer composites based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and waste-gypsum with and without methylene-butadiene-styrene (MBS) has been studied. It was shown that the replacement of gypsum for methylene-butadiene-styrene (MBS) component in PVC/gypsum polymer composites enhanced the tensile strength and stiffness of composites, but gradually decreased its impact strength. The observation of morphology, the results of the physico-mechanical properties and thermal properties proved simultaneously that PVC/gypsum composite with the waste-gypsum content of 22.56 wt% reached the optimum results among five kinds of PVC/gypsum polymer composite materials investigated.
