The dilute solution behavior[mainly the reduced viscosity(η_red)] of PVA/Borax/Gelatin in a solvent has been investigated. Viscosity of PVA/Borax solutions were increased than PVA and increased with increased of borax concentration. On the other hand, viscosity of PVA/Borax/Gelatin solutions were decreased than PVA and decreased with increased of gelatin concentration. These results show the dependence of viscosity[η] and viscosity average molecul-ar weight(Mv) on polymer concentration.

Surface composition and structure of PVA complexes (PVA/Gelatin/Borax) films were investigated with XPS and the bulk content was measured with ¹H-Neuclear Magnetic Resornance spectrometry (¹H-NMR). From this results, it is possible to calculate of carbon, oxgen, nitrogen, etc and showed hydroxyl and aminogroups. Crystallinities of PVA was measured by infrared and X-ray diffractometer. On the basis of the experimental results, the structure to the PVA complexes in various materials were estimated. PVA complexes have a uniform structure with flexible PVA chains in a mixed solvent of water.

The self-aggregation behavior and microscopic characteristics of the PEG-b-PCL copolymer self-aggregates, prepared by solvent evaporation method, were investigated by `H NMR, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and fluorescence spectroscopy. The PEG-PCL block copolymer formed nano-sized self-aggregates in an aqueous environment by intraand/or intermolecular association between hydrophobic PCL chains. Then, drug loading and its release behavior of clonazepam loaded PEG-b-PCL nanoparticles were investigated. The result revealed that hydrophobic-hydrophilic balances played a crucial role for drug loading and its release behaviors.

An active stick which supplies force feedback to the operator is developed in this study. A mathematical model of the active stick is derived, and compared with the experimental result. It turns out that the frictional torque due to the mechanical contacts of several parts of the stick is one of the major barriers to achieve high precision operation of the stick. The frictional effect of the stick is cancelled out by using a friction observer. The efficacy of the friction observer is verified through the numerical simulation. Because of the observer dynamics, there are some limitations in exact recovering the static friction and Stribeck effect. However, the friction observer follows the real friction on the average. It's anticipated that the application of the friction observer to the closed loop control of the active stick improves the performance of the displacement versus force characteristics, which will be proved experimentally in the further study.

PVA와 붕사 복합체의 표면성분과 구조를 규명하기 위해서 이의 복합체를 공기중에서 Film을 제조하여 XPS를 측정했고, 수용액 상태에서 ¹H-NMR을 측정했다. 이들의 분석결과 Film표면에 C,O,B의 성분을 밝혔고, B(OH)-group과 수산기의 강한 결합을 확인했다. This study was enforced to investigate the antidiabetic action of Stevia Ex. and stevioside on Alloxan diabetes. The blood sugar, blood urea nitrogen, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase and cholesterol level were measured in this study. The results were as follows; 1) Stevia Ex. and stevioside increased the blood sugar levels' slightly in normal rat, but they were not significant except stevioside 300㎎ group. 2) Stevia Ex. and stevioside restrained the blood sugar levels in proportion to the sample amount in Alloxan diabetes. Especially stevioside 300㎎ group showed very excellent antidiabetic effects. 3) Stevia Ex. and stevioside decreased the serum G.O.T. levelsincreased by Alloxan. 4) Serum total cholesterol levels were convereted near to the normal value by Stevia Ex. and stevioside in Alloxan diabetes. 5) But B.U.N. levels were not influenced by Stevia Ex. and stoviosdie in Alloxan diabetes.

Ductile Fracture of Dual Pase Steel begins with void nucleation, at Martensite-Ferrite interface or deformed Martensite particle. In this study void nucleation, void growth, void volume fraction and void coalescence at given strain were studied in dual phase steel. Therefore, by means of the heat treatment of low corbon steel the study deal with void nucleation and void growth for ferrite grain sizeof dual phase steel. Void nucleaton and void growth with increasing strain are shown depend upon the ferrit grain size. The number of voids and volume fraction of voids generary increase as ferrite grain size decrease. At the close to fracture the void coalescence in the direction of the applied tensile stress, but near the fracture surface they linked in direction transverse to the tensile axis.
