By analyzing five in-depth case studies of suppliers in newly emerging Vietnam`s motorcycle industry, this paper explores the differences in patterns and processes of capability improvement of suppliers who participate in different kinds of supplier-assembler network with different structures (arm-length or embedded). The paper finds the correlation between the kinds of suppliers` capabilities improved and the structure of networks they participate in. While suppliers in arm-length networks can improve more upstream capabilities (structure design, process design), suppliers in embedded networks can improve more downstream capabilities (process design, process setup, process maintenance and delivery control). Two capability improvement patterns of firms in newly emerging economy are indicated. The first pattern is asymmetrical improvement, either upstream or downstream capabilities, by participating in either arm-length or embedded networks. This pattern obstructs the suppliers to meet the requirements of new buyers who come from different kinds of network. The second pattern is symmetrical improvement by joining both arm-length and embedded networks.

Skin burn is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in burn patients due to its susceptibility to infection. The disruption of the epidermal barrier, combined with the denaturation of proteins and lipids, provides a fertile environment that is rich in bacterial nutrients for microbial growth, making it significantly prone to infection. This study aimed to formulate a thermoresponsive hydrogel containing silver nanoparticles (300 ppm), oligo chitosan 2%, and curcumin (0.1%) in the polymer pluronic F127 matrix with a final concentration of 13% to effectively promote the healing of skin wounds. The prepared thermoresponsive hydrogel was investigated for its physical and chemical stability, gelation temperature, and chemical composition. In addition to in vitro antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus found in burn infections, in vivo burn healing and antibacterial activities were also investigated and compared with those of a commercial product using burn-induced infected wounds in mice. The formulation showed antibacterial activity with effective values for wound healing properties, as shown in vivo and by histopathological studies. This study also demonstrates that the thermoresponsive hydrogel was successful as an antibacterial and burned wound-healing transdermal drug delivery system.

In order to increase turbine efficiency while retaining structural integrity, modern jet engines need an effective cooling system. Pin-fin arrays play a significant role in the internal cooling system of the turbine blade. In examining the efficacy of cooling techniques using pin-fins, the other papers focus on pin-fin configurations. In contrast, the current study is a step toward optimizing cooling cascade endwalls for better maneuvering and reservation of vortices, which leads to more considerable heat transfer near the endwalls. This study examines the flow field and heat transfer of roughed endwall in the pin-fin channel, including varieties with flat endwall and extruded endwall. The heat transfer of the channel and pressure drop properties of the extruded endwall case are quantitatively assessed to contrast with those of the flat endwalls scenario for an intake Reynolds number range of 7400 to 36000. The leading and trailing surfaces of the channel are divided into five streamwise regions to understand better how well the pin-fins and endwalls transmit heat. The results show that the new endwall construction significantly increases the high heat transfer zones around the pin-fins compared to the flat endwall scenario. In the meantime, the heat transfer of the channel to the pin-fins is enhanced by the modified endwall configuration. The redesigned endwall outperformed the basic case regarding the HTEI, rising by 15.9%. It is found that the friction factor of the new design is increased due to the narrowing channel. However, due to their much higher heat transfer capacity, the HTEI of extruded endwall is up to 41.5% higher than the HTEI of the channel with flat endwalls. These results demonstrate that the heat transfer properties of pin-fins can be significantly improved by optimizing endwall design.
Aerodynamic Performance of an Annular Combustion Chamber Cooling with Swirler Design
Cong-Truong Dinh,Xuan-Truong Le,Trong-Nghia Hoang,Quang-Anh Pham 한국유체기계학회 2021 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.14 No.1
Gas turbines play a crucial role in the aviation industry as they are primary sources of power for most aircraft. The combustion chamber is one of the three essential part of jet engines, together with compressor and turbine. Energy is generated when fuel is burned in the combustor. In the primary zone, the recirculation flow is of great importance to aerodynamic performance. Swirlers, fitted in the dome around the fuel injector, can alter the behavior of the recirculation flow and thus, impact combustion performance. The vortex behind a swirler can be easily controlled by changing the swirl angle. In addition, changing the vortex angle leads to a difference in mixing between fuel and air. This paper investigates the effects of swirler design, based on the swirl angle, on aerodynamic performance of an annular combustion chamber in cooling condition using three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the SST turbulence model.
Travel Intention to Visit Tourism Destinations: A Perspective of Generation Z in Vietnam
NGUYEN, Viet Hoang,TRUONG, Thi Xuan Dao,PHAM, Huong Trang,TRAN, Duc Thanh,NGUYEN, Pham Hung Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.2
The purpose of this research is to investigate the impacts of gen-Z's perception of consumer-generated content on social media on their travel intention with the mediating role of travel motivation push and pull. An online questionnaire survey of a total of 369 samples was conducted with the participation of gen Z in the most important cities across Vietnam. The model was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS program 22 to investigate model relationships and all hypotheses are significant. The findings indicated that gen Z values the usefulness of social media and they use social media for knowledge-seeking (push factor), and this leads to their intention to visit a destination. SEM analysis also reveals that gen Z tends to use social media to find accessibility to any destinations and they are motivated highly with destinations that have clear and easy access, for example, no visa requirement or neighboring destinations. As the result, they have better intentions to visit these destinations. This research will help marketers, especially marketing specialists to gain a better understanding of gen Z, thus implement better marketing techniques to target gen Z.
Factors Affecting the Adoption of IFRS: The Case of Listed Companies on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange
TA, Trang Thu,PHAM, Cuong Duc,NGUYEN, Anh Huu,DOAN, Nga Thanh,DINH, Hang Thuy,DO, Giang Hoang,PHAM, Truong Hong Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.2
The study investigates the key factors that affect the adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) by companies listed on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) in Vietnam. The factors that are studied in this research include total debt-to-equity ratio, firm size, return-on-equity ratio, audit quality, foreign investment, and financial institution category. The authors have utilized quantitative and qualitative analyses in combination with a logistics regression model and other available analytical tools for conducting the research. All statistics processed in the paper were based on 379 audited financial statements issued in 2018. The results reveal that factors like firm size, return on equity (ROE), audit quality, foreign investment, and financial institution category positively affect the IFRS adoption of HOSE-listed companies, while total debt-to-equity ratio negatively impacts the adoption. The findings suggest Vietnamese law and policy-makers, when promoting the adoption of IFRS by listed companies, should focus more on five variables with positive influence and they can disregard the total debt-to-equity ratio that is insignificant as a factor affecting the adoption of IFRS. This implication could be applied for other firms in Vietnam and for enterprises in other countries, which are in the same stage of IFRS application.

Dinh‑Toi Chu,Van‑Huy Pham,Thien Chu‑Dinh,Truong Nhu Ngoc Vo,Duc Long Duong,Van Nhon Bui,Minh Son Tong,Thi Thu Phuong Nguyen,Quynh Anh Le,Khanh‑Hoang Nguyen 한국약제학회 2019 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.49 No.3
Mouthwash is one of the most commonly oral healthcare products for prevention and treatment of gum diseases. Dr. ECA is a disinfectant solution manufactured by a Vietnamese company and has been licensed for oral healthcare, but its effect on gingivitis is still unclear. To evaluate the effectiveness of this product in the treatment of gingivitis, we conducted a clinical study in 60 students diagnosed with gingivitis to compare the results of gingivitis treatment using Dr. ECA and a control mouthwash (a demonstrated anti-gingivitis product). The data showed that in the treated group, the rate of good Gingivitis Index (GI) before treatment was 46.67%, but after 2 and 4 weeks of using Dr. ECA that rate was increased to 96.67% and 100%, respectively. The percentage of patients with bleeding on probing was 63.33% but declined sharply after 2 weeks of treatment to 6.67%, and further reduced to 3.33% after 4 weeks of treatment. The treatment outcomes in were similar in the Dr. ECA treated group and control one with no statistically significant difference. Our results suggest that the electrolyte saline solution Dr. ECA is effective in treating gingivitis. Its effects are similar to other mouthwash products that had been approved and marketed.
