        김명호,유문집,이성철,박진영,유석주,박희곤 단국대학교 1996 論文集 Vol.30 No.-

The purpose of operative treatment in thoracolumbar spine fractures is anatomical reduction and stabilization of the fractures and thus promote neurological recovery and early rehabilitation. To achieve these goals, complete preoperative assessment and recognition of the fracture pattern is necessary in addition to good surgical technique. The authors analyzed 27 cases of thoracolumbar spine fractures operated from Jun. 1994 to Dec.1995 at the Department of orthopaedic surgery, Dan-kook University Hospital. All cases were analysed according to McAfee classification. In deciding the appropriate surgical approach, fracture pat-tern, stability and neurologic status were considered. The result were as follows; 1. Unstable burst fracture, 11 cases, was the most frequent type. 2. 1st lumbar fracture was the most common level in this series. 3. Fall down, 15 cases out of 27, was the most common cause on thoracolumbar spine fracture. 4. Anterior approach was performed in 8 cases and posterior approach was performed in 19cases. 5. Good results were obtained through firm fixation and early rehabilitabion.

Study Design : Spine fusion with fixation procedure is associated with substantial operative blood loss, which frequently necessitates transfusion. The authors evaluated the safety and efficacy of intraoperative autotransfusion using Cell Saver during spinal surgery. Summary of Literature Review : It has been reported that the contraindications to the use of intraoperative autologous transfusion are malignancy, infection, and gross wound contamination. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of intraoperative autotransfusion using Cell Saver during spine surgery. Material and Methods : We retrospectively reviewed 62 patients who had operation for lumbosacral spinal stenosis and hypotensive anesthesia. Among them, Group Ⅰwhich received autotrans fusion using Cell Savers included 26 patients with fusion of 2 segments, and Group Ⅱ as control group included 13 patients. Group Ⅲ which received autotransfusion using Cell Savers included 17 patients with function of 3 segments, and Group Ⅳ as control group included 6 patients. We analyzed the amount of intraoperative blood salvage using a Cell Saver, the amount of total homologous transfusion amount, intraoperative blood loss, the amount of postoperative drainage amount and perioperative changes of hemoglobin, hematocrit and platelet count. Results : There was no statistical significance between Cell-Saver group and control group in amount of total homologous transfusion and intraoperative(except in 2 segment of fusion using cell saver: 86.5% increased) & postoperative blood loss(p>0.05). The circulatory balance(amount of intraoperative blood salvage using a Cell Saver plus amount of total homologous transfusion minus amount of total blood loss) was statistical significance between Cell-Saver group and Control group. The Cell-Saver group had positive balance and Control group had negative balance. There were no statistical differance in the evolusion of hemoglobin, hematoocrit and platelet count between Cell-Saver group and Control group(p>0.05). There was no transfusion reaction and thromboembolic disease in all group. Conclusion : In retrospective study, Cell Savers was safe and immediate availability in orthopedic surgery such as spinal surgery. It was effective methods for storing a sufficient volume of blood for spine surgery without affecting the patient's postoperative hemodynamic ststes, too. It was possible to operation without intraoperative homologous blood transfusion in 2 or 3 segment fusion. We may need further study.

        S. H. SHIN, T. W. KIM, M. S. KWON, S. G. GO, K. J. PARK. Analysis of the angular momentum on the lower extremity by change of starting block angles. Korean Journal of Sport Biomechanics, Vol. 14, No. 3, pp. 165-175, 2004. The aim of this study is to show the effect of starting block angle on the starting motion of sprinters using a crouching start. After installing starting blocks on forced platform, and having four highly comparative sprinters use the starting blocks, I analyzed the angular momentum of a crouching start. From the results of the analysis, the following conclusions could be drawn: There were differences of angular momentum both in body's X, Y, and Z axes and in the thighs' X axes, but not in the pelvis and lower legs. As to the general change of block angle, we noticed that an angular momentum for each segments was higher at an angle of 50 to 55 degrees.

Necrotizing Soft-Tissue Infections: A Retrospective Review of Predictive Factors for Limb Loss

        Hee-Gon Park,Jong-Heon Yang,Byung-Hoon Park,Hyung-Suk Yi 대한정형외과학회 2022 Clinics in Orthopedic Surgery Vol.14 No.2

Background: Emergent diagnosis and treatment are important for the survival of patients with necrotizing soft-tissue infections (NSTIs). Death is the most catastrophic outcome, but limb loss is also one of the most important complications that can have a significant impact on the rest of the patient’s life. The purpose of this study was to identify predictive factors for limb loss caused by NSTIs. Methods: The data of patients at our center who were diagnosed with NSTIs from May 2003 to January 2019 were analyzed retrospectively. The inclusion criteria were patients with a definite diagnosis of NSTI involving the upper or lower limb. A total of 49 patient records were analyzed in terms of demography, laboratory data, microbiological causes, treatment, and final outcome. Laboratory Risk Indicator for Necrotizing Fasciitis (LRINEC) scores at initial admission were also collected as laboratory data. Final outcomes were classified into survival with limb salvage and survival with limb loss. Results: The limb loss rate was 20.4% (10/49) in our study. On comparison between the limb salvage group and the limb loss group, independent risk factors of limb loss were as follows: presence of hypotension at admission (odds ratio [OR], 8.2; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.7–38.3; p = 0.008); LRINEC score ≥ 9 (OR, 5.8; 95% CI, 1.3–25.6; p = 0.012), and glucose level > 300 mg/dL (OR, 4.5; 95% CI, 0.9–21.9; p = 0.041). Various microbiological organisms were isolated; the most prevalent specimen was streptococci (32.6%), followed by staphylococci (26.5%). Poor outcomes including limb loss and mortality had no correlation with microbiological organisms. Conclusions: For patients with NSTIs, the presence of hypotension at admission, a high glucose level (> 300 mg/dL), and a high LRINEC score (> 9) were independent risk factors for limb loss.

Implementation of Gesture Interface for Projected Surfaces

        ( Yong-suk Park ),( Se-ho Park ),( Tae-gon Kim ),( Jong-moon Chung ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.1

Image projectors can turn any surface into a display. Integrating a surface projection with a user interface transforms it into an interactive display with many possible applications. Hand gesture interfaces are often used with projector-camera systems. Hand detection through color image processing is affected by the surrounding environment. The lack of illumination and color details greatly influences the detection process and drops the recognition success rate. In addition, there can be interference from the projection system itself due to image projection. In order to overcome these problems, a gesture interface based on depth images is proposed for projected surfaces. In this paper, a depth camera is used for hand recognition and for effectively extracting the area of the hand from the scene. A hand detection and finger tracking method based on depth images is proposed. Based on the proposed method, a touch interface for the projected surface is implemented and evaluated.

      • Damage on Wheat Growth and Yield by Sharp Eyespot (Rhizoctonia Cerealis) in Wheat Fields

        Jong-Chul Park,Eun-Suk Lee,Hak-Sin Kim,Chun-Sik Kang,Chul-Soo Park,Jung-Jun Lee,Jun-Hee Lee,Young Guen-Cheong,Tae-Il Park,Tae-Soo Kim,Ki-Jong Kim,Jung-Gon Kim 한국작물학회 2010 한국작물학회 학술발표대회 논문집 Vol.2010 No.04

In April 2009 two wheat cropping fields, Jeonju and Gimje in Jeonbuk Province, showed yellowish leaves and dead tillers in stem bases with sharp lens-shaped darken lesions. The disease incidence in wheat cultivar Jopummil ranged from 2.2 to 43.5%, with a mean incidence of 28.5%. The different incidence was related the seeding date. Earlier seeding (15th October) fields showed severe incidence as 25.5 to 43.5% while late seeding around the end of October weakened incidence in the cultivar. Based on morphology and pathogenic characteristics, the fungus was identified as Rhizoctonia cerealis that causes sharp eyespot in wheat. The disease severely affected growth and yield including culm length, spike length, number of kernel. The average culm length of the infected cv. Jopummil was 66 cm while that of healthy plant was 74 cm. The number of kernel and tiller per unit area was decreased only in the case of more than 13% incidence, but the length of heads was not significantly different compared with that of the healthy plants.

      • Characteristics of composite membranes containing ionic liquid and acid for anhydrous high temperature PEFCs

The ionic liquid-based sulfonated hydrocarbon composite membranes was prepared for use in anhydrous high temperature-polymer electrolyte fuel cells (HT-PEFCs). Ionic liquid behaves like water in the composite membranes under anhydrous condition. However the composite membranes show a low conductivity and high gas permeability as the content of ionic liquid increases due to its high viscosity and content of ionic liquid, respectively. Hence, in order to enhance the proton conductivity and to reduce the gas permeability of the composite membranes with low content of ionic liquids, the acid containing a common ion of ionic liquid was added to the composite membranes. The characterization of composite membranes was carried out using small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and impedance spectroscopy. As a result, the composite membranes containing acid showed higher proton conductivity than those with no acid under the un-humidified condition due to a decrease in viscosity. In addition, the proton conductivity of composite membranes increased with increasing mole concentration of acid.

A New Waxy Wheat Cultivar "Shinmichall" with Stress Tolerance

        Hwa Young Heo,Chul Soo Park,Moon Suk Kang,Hyung Ho Park,Chun Kee Lee,Hong Sik Kim,Bon Chul Goo,Jong Chul Park,Kwang Geun Park,Young Keun Cheong,Jung Gon Kim 한국육종학회 2007 한국육종학회지 Vol.39 No.3

“Shinmichal1”, a waxy red winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA. It was derived from the cross “Alchan”/“Chal2”during 1997. “Alchan” is a soft red winter wheat with high yield and good noodle quality. “Chal2” is a waxy wheat line crossed by “Kanto107” (Wx-A1b and Wx-B1b) and “BaiHuo” (Wx-D1b). “Shinmichal1” was evaluated as “Suwon306” in Advanced Yield Trial Test in 2002. It was tested in the regional yield trial test between 2003 and 2006. “Shinmichal1” is an awned, semi dwarf and soft red winter wheat, similar to “Uri” (check cultivar). The Heading and maturing date of “Shinmichal1” were similar to “Uri”. Culm and spike length of “Shinmichal1“ were 79 cm and 7.8 cm. “Shinmichal1“ had greater test weight (802 g) and lower 1,000-grain weight (31.8 g) than “Uri” (782 g and 35.2 g, respectively). It has resistance to winter hardiness, wet-soil tolerance, lodging tolerance and moderate post-harvest sprouting damage. “Shinmichal1” had higher flour yield (66.2%), ash (0.73%), protein (10.9%) and SDS sedimentation volume (40.7 ml) than “Uri” (64.7%, 0.53%, 9.3%, and 32.5 ml, respectively) and similar flour color to “Uri”. “Shinmichal1” had higher dough extensibility and lower dough strength than “Uri”. It is 5.2% of amylose content and had typical waxy starch pasting properties. Average yield of “Shnmichal1” in the regional adaptation yield trial was 5.24 MT ha-1 in upland and 5.58 MT ha-1 in paddy field, which was 3% and 8% lower than those of “Uri” (5.39 MT ha-1 and 6.09 MT ha-1, respectively). “Shinmichal1” would be suitable for the area above the daily minimum temperature of -10℃ in January in Korean peninsula.
