      • The Effects of 12 Weeks Regular Aerobic Exercise on Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor and Inflammatory Factors in Juvenile Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

        <P> [Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12 weeks regular aerobic exercise on brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and inflammatory factors in juvenile obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Obesity and T2DM, typically common among adults, have recently become more prevalent in the Korean juvenile population, affecting not only their lipid profiles and oxidant stress levels, but also their BDNF and inflammatory factor levels. [Subjects] This study enrolled 26 juveniles (boys = 15, girls = 9) who were assigned to a control group (CG, n = 11), obesity group (OG, n = 8), or T2DM group (TG, n = 7). [Methods] The outcome of a 40–60-minute aerobic exercise session that took place three times per week for 12 weeks at a maximum oxygen intake (VO<SUB>2max</SUB>) of 50~60% was investigated. [Results] The exercise resulted in a significant reduction in the resting serum BDNF and TrkB levels (baseline) among juveniles in the OG and TG as compared to those in the CG. Additionally, the 12 weeks of regular aerobic exercise led to significant reductions in body weight, body fat percentage, and body mass index in the OG and a significant increase of VO<SUB>2max</SUB> in the OG and TG. However, no significant differences in serum NGF or inflammatory factors were found among the three groups. There was a significant increase in resting serum BDNF levels following the 12 weeks regular exercise only in the OG. [Conclusion] While 12 weeks of regular aerobic exercise had a positive effect on body composition, and increased BDNF levels of juveniles in the OG, it did not affect the inflammatory factor levels and had no effect on the TG.</P>

        단체급식 영양사의 계란 요리에 대한 인식도에 따른 이용실태와 활용증대 방안

        Purpose: This study aims to provide important methods to increase egg usage eggs in communal food services, based on the knowledge and awareness of the dietician. Methods: A survey on 200 dieticians in various aspects, such as egg purchase, utility, importance of egg dishes and allergy awareness was conducted. Result: Dieticians' highest consideration in purchasing eggs were cost (41.5%) and food safety certification (41.0%); the 88.6% of purchases were general egg. The most inconvenient issues in the purchase were inability to confirm freshness (42.0%), frequent breakage (23.5%) and inconvenience in shell disposal (18.5%). During the process of cooking, cracking egg shells (49.5%) and disposal of shells (14.0%) were marked as the major inconveniences. When questioned on intention to purchase liquid and powder eggs to overcome the shell disposal inconvenience, 64% answered no, with distrust in food safety (44.5%) being the major concern. The frequency of using eggs as the main ingredient was 1~2 times per week, with 49.0%. Food service customers favored rolled omelet (36.7%) and steamed egg (20.6%), and the most used utensil was the frying pan (56.5%). When important factors in egg dishes, namely diverse menu, taste, nutrition, consumer satisfaction and allergic reaction were surveyed, most answered that all 5 factors were important. Conclusion: For increasing egg dish inclusions in communal food service, the safety assurance, increase in liquid and processed egg use, and supply of cooking utilities are necessary.

      • Effectiveness of Bleomycin microneedle treatment for recalcitrant wart

        Background: Wart is common skin disease caused by the HPV infection. Most treatment involving physicaldestruction of the infected cells has been used, such as cryotherapy. But intense pain, failure or recurrences may be substantial problems.Intralesional bleomycin has been used in the treatment of viral warts. It has been suggested that bleomycin induces cytotoxic or virucidal actions, breakages in the DNA strand and produce superoxide free radicals. Objectives: We performed pilot study to apply bleomycin coated microneedle into wart lesion to evaluate the treatment efficacy. Methods: Ten patients with warts were applied bleomycin microneedle at interval of 2 weeks. Treatment efficacy was assessed by Physician``s Global Assessment (PGA) and Patient``s Global Assessment (PaGA), and mean percentage of size reduction. Results: The mean treatments duration was 14.6 weeks.The mean PGA and PaGA were 1.4 and 2.0, respectively. All of them revealed apparently improved lesion more than 80% size reduction compared to the base line. No adverse reaction or pain, bleeding and discomforts were observed. One patient with two warts applied cryotherapy and microneedle, respectively. The effectiveness of bleomycin microneedle was similar to conventional cryotherapy. Conclusion: Bleomycin microneedle might be suggested as a new treatment modality for the patients who have unable to tolerate painful treatment. Further study with larger number of patients and comparison with conventional treatment is mandatory.

      • MHEMT를 이용한 DC ∼ 45 GHz CPW 광대역 분산 증폭기 설계 및 제작

        In this paper, CPW wideband distributed amplifier was designed and fabricated using 0.1 $\mum$ InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs Metamorphic HEMT(High Electron Mobility Transistor). The DC characteristics of MHEMT are 442 mA/mm of drain current density, 409 mS/mm of maximum transconductance. The current gain cut-off frequency(fT) is 140 GHz and the maximum oscillation frequency(fmax) is 447 GHz. The distributed amplifier was designed using 0.1 $\mum$ MHEMT and CPW technology. We designed the structure of CPW curve, tee and cross to analyze the discontinuity characteristics of the CPW line. The MIMIC circuit patterns were optimized electromagnetic field through momentum. The designed distributed amplifier was fabricated using our MIMIC standard process. The measured results show S21 gain of above 6 dB from DC to 45 GHz. Input reflection coefficient S11 of -10 dB, and output reflection coefficient S22 of -7 dB at 45 GHz, respectively. The chip size of the fabricated CPW distributed amplifier is 2.0 mm$\times$l.2 mm. 본 논문에서는 0.1 $\mum$ InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs Metamorphic HEMT (High Electron Mobility Transistor)를 이용하여 DC~45 GHz 대역의 광대역 MIMIC(Millimeter-wave Monolithic Integrated Circuit) 분산 증폭기를 설계 및 제작하였다. MIMIC 증폭기의 제작을 위해 Metamorphic HEMT(MHEMT)를 설계 및 제작하였으며, 제작된 MHEMT는 드레인 전류 밀도 442 mA/mm, 최대 전달컨덕턴스(Gm)는 409 mS/mm를 얻었다. RF 특성으로 fT는 140 GHz fmax는 447 GHz의 양호한 성능을 나타내었다. 광대역 MIMIC 분산 증폭기의 설계를 위해 MHEMT의 소신호 모델과 CPW 라이브러리를 구축하였으며, 이를 이용하여 MIMIC 분산 증폭기를 설계하였다. 설계된 분산 증폭기는 본 연구에서 개발된 MHEMT MIMIC 공정을 이용하여 제작하였으며, MIMIC 분산 증폭기의 측정결과, DC ~ 45 GHz대역에서 6 dB 이상의 S21 이득을 얻었으며, 입력반사 계수는 45 GHz에서 -10 dB, 출력반사계수는 -7 dB의 특성을 나타내었다. 제작된 분산 증폭기의 칩 크기는 2.0 mm$\times$l.2 mm다.
