        대학 신입생의 대학전념에 영향을 미치는 요인 : 개인 간 차이와 개인 내 변화량의 비교

        This study aimed compare to factors affecting inter-individual differences in commitment to the university of university freshman on early stage of admission, and factors affecting intra-individual differences of commitment to the university after a semester. Gender, long-hour commute to school, economic conditions, emotional stability, support of surroundings, satisfaction about university choices, confidence in major career, expectations of university life, commitment to the university were measured among 303 university freshman in N university on 2019. Results of regression is as follows. First, when it comes to gender, long-hour commute to school, economic conditions no influenced inter- and intra-individual differences of commitment to the university. And it comes to expectations of university life largest positively influenced university commitment on early stage of admission. Second, it comes to confidence in freshman's major career largest positively influenced intra-individual differences of commitment to the university. This does exactly mean that the greater the reduction of confidence in freshman's major career, university commitment greater the decrease. Because intra-individual differences of confidence in freshman's major career is -.04, it can be seen that many freshman have reduce confidence in major career. Also, it found out that expectations of university life as largest positively influencing factor to university commitment on early stage of admission, rather it negatively affected intra-individual differences of university commitment. The following suggestions were made. University should provide vision and career experience activities for a major, club activities for human friendly and leisure sharing to freshman from the beginning of admission. Especially, university have to make an intensive care program for freshman of a highly expectations of university life on early stage of admission.

        An Analysis of the Effects of University Freshmen's Extracurricular Programs for the Public Value

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for the operation of the extracurricular program by examining whether it is effective for university life adjustment and student competency improvement accord-ing to the motivation to participate in the extracurricular program and the participation in the extracurricular program. Method: As for the data collection, a survey was conducted with freshmen in the natural science department of O University O located in in the metropolitan area. 1. To analyze as to whether the motivation for participation in the extracurricular program has an effect on the university life adjustment, the validity of the motivation to participate and the university life adaptation fac-tors was verified, then the inter-individual effect was verified. 2. Group statistics were analyzed to analyze as to whether the participation in the extracurricular program has an effect on the university freshmen's adaptation to the university life. 3. To verify the effect of participation in the extracurricular program and the student competency enhance-ment, the O University’s 5L Core Competency Diagnostic Tool(2021) was used, and the competency evaluation scores for the 4 competencies except for L3 were compared on an ex ante and ex post basis. Results: The motivation to participate in the extracurricular program for Research Question 1 was verified to have an effect on the university freshmen's adaptation to the university life, and consequently, it was apparent that motivation is more important before publicity or program improvement for the participation in extracurric-ular program. As a result of analysis as to whether to participate in the extracurricular program for Research Question 2 and the university life adjustment of freshmen, the participation in the extracurricular program was effective for all questions about university life adaptation. As a result of analyzing the effect of the extracurricular program for Research Question 3, it was apparent that the extracurricular program related to the auditory per-sonality competency L1, future learning competency L2, and job-based competency L3 was effective in enhancing the student competency, and it is considered that the extracurricular program related to the competency L5 needs to be improved for quality control to strengthen the student competency. Conclusion: This study was conducted with freshmen in the natural science department, and hence, there are limitations to generalizing to all university students. In the future studies, if factors such as segmentation by category and program learning efficacy are considered together, it will be possible to present a more specific way to activate the extracurricular program.

        A Study on Effects of Mentoring Education Program by Advisor onto Adaptation and Relationship of University Freshmen

        The identity of each university is threatened due to severe changes in the university entrance exam environment including a low birthrate and an increase in the drop-out rate by the students maladaptive to their majors. Accordingly, in this study, the effects of the mentoring program which was implemented during a semester targeting the university freshmen were examined and analyzed in order for the students to establish each identity as an adult and to enhance their adaptation ability to the university environment. Based from the results of the study, most of the freshmen showed very positive responses regarding some enhancement of the levels of the satisfaction with some academic courses, a help for the adaptation to the university life, a help for their understanding of each major course, some enhancement of their prides in the university, some enhancement of their interests in studying, some enhancement of the levels of closeness with each classmate and some enhancement of the learning atmosphere, etc. This study emphasized the formation of useful relationship between a mentoring program and the supervision to university freshmen. An advisor, as a mentor, will participate in the program as part of the curriculum to help freshmen adapt to the university environment. Therefore, this study is intended to suggest some baseline data for preparing for various kinds of policies on educational welfare and proposals on educational innovation in order for the future Korean university freshmen.

      • Analysis of Various Influences and Factors on Academic Persistence of Cyber University Students

        Since the establishment of cyber universities in South Korea in 2001, there have been high societal expectations for these new institutions of higher learning. However, as the dropout rate for cyber universities is higher than standard four-year universities, matters of quality control are increasingly becoming an issue. This study analyses the factors that influence the expansion and maintenance of student numbers in cyber universities. Of the four-year cyber universities that conferred bachelor's degrees in 2013 and 2014, 17 universities were selected in analyzing the factors influencing academic continuity of cyber university students. This study analyzed cyber universities’ offline study halls and study support facilities’ locations, the level of university recognition, the rate of expanding teacher facilities, scale of enrolled students, level of competitiveness for university entrance for freshmen students, cost of education per student, scholarships per student, and the proportion of lectures appointed to full-time faculty against the enrollment rate of new students, the proportion of standard high school graduates which indicates the academic continuity of the freshmen enrollment rate, and the enrollment rate of the entire student body and dropout rate. The results show that the level of competitiveness for university entrance for first year students and the proportion of lectures appointed to full-time faculty are factors with a positive effect, with the level of competitiveness for university entrance for first year students having the greatest influence. Such analysis results show that the factors related to the decision making when students select a university have a significant effect on cyber universities' enrollment and continued learning, suggesting that after enrollment, academic experience has a relatively small influence on continued learning. Therefore, there is a need for cyber universities to improve the quality of learning and teaching as well as increase the information available to students for students to choose cyber universities. There is a need for these two policy directions to be promoted simultaneously to improve the relevancy of programs offered by and demanded of cyber universities.

        장르 특성을 고려한 대학 신입생 자기소개서 교육 방안

        This study aimed to propose ways to improve students’ writing skills using a letter of self-introduction in writing education for university freshmen. Currently, education on self-introduction letters targets students of different grades considering the characteristics of the letters oriented toward seeking employment. However, it is also necessary to teach university freshmen how to write such letters, not only because of university freshmen’s need to learn about self-introduction letters but also the fact that they often must submit self-introduction letters. To understand the current status of education on self-introduction letters that university freshmen received in high school, the textbook Speech and Writing, one of the selective subjects, was reviewed. Also, the limitations of self-exploratory writing in creating writing content in university liberal arts education were examined. As a result, this author concluded that what university freshmen should note in writing self-introduction letters is not just themselves, the object of writing, but also the “reader,” the context of communication, and “introducing,” the purpose of writing such letters. Education on writing self-introduction letters for university freshmen should be aimed at not only self-exploration to examine their career path or jobs but also at enhancing the basic writing skills required of university students. To this end, this researcher notes the need to select educational content that can improve students’ abilities to consider the genre characteristics of self-introduction, analyze the “reader” and organize and express contents that meet the reader’s needs properly, and achieve the goal of communication by considering the context in which the “introduction” takes place. Because it is not the first time for university freshmen to learn about the situation of self-introduction, this study suggests a method of education that starts by allowing them to check their current status on their own, for instance, what type of concept they have about self-introduction letters or how they write one. In addition, this study proposes a method of education that allows them to experience reading various examples of self-introduction letters as a “real reader” and organize the impressions that the letters made on them so as to discover effective strategies to write a self-introduction letter and apply them to their own writing. 이 연구는 대학 신입생을 대상으로 한 글쓰기 교육에서 자기소개서를 활용해 학생들의 글쓰기 능력을 향상시키기 위한 방안을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다.취업 목적의 자기소개서 특성을 고려해 다양한 학년의 학생들을 대상으로 이루어지고 있는 현재 자기소개서 교육뿐만 아니라 대학 신입생의 특성을 반영한 자기소개서 교육이 필요하다.이는 대학 신입생들의 자기소개서에 대한 교육적 요구를 고려함과 동시에 대학 신입생들이 자기소개서를 실제 제출해야 하는 실제 상황이 많다는 점을 반영한 것이다. 여기서는 대학 신입생들이 고등학교 때 받았던 자기소개서 교육 현황을 파악하기위해 선택 교과인<화법과 작문>교과서를 검토하였다.대학 교양 교육 내에서 글쓰기내용 생성을 위한 자기 탐색적 글쓰기 방법이 가지는 한계 역시 살펴보았다.이를 통해 대학 신입생을 위한 자기소개서에서 주목해야 할 부분이 작문 대상인 자기 자신뿐만 아니라 의사소통의 상황맥락인 ‘독자’와 글쓰기 목적인 ‘소개하기’에 있음을 도출하였다. 대학 신입생 자기소개서 교육은 진로나 직업 탐색을 위한 자기 탐색뿐만 아니라 대학생에게 요구되는 기본적인 글쓰기 능력을 신장시켜 주는 것에 목적을 두어야 한다. 이를 위해 자기소개서의 장르 특성을 고려할 수 있는 능력,‘독자’에 대한 분석과 함께독자의 요구에 부합하는 내용을 적절히 구성하고 표현하는 능력,‘소개’가 이루어지는 상황맥락을 고려하고 의사소통 목적을 달성하는 능력을 길러주기 위한 교육 내용선정이 필요함을 제기하였다.대학 신입생들은 자기소개 상황을 처음 배우는 것이 아니므로 현재 자기소개서에 대한 어떤 개념을 가지고 있는지,어떻게 작성하고 있는지학생 스스로 자신의 현 상태를 확인하는 것에서 시작하는 교육 방안을 제안하였다.여기에 다양한 자기소개서 예를 ‘실제 독자’로서 읽는 경험을 통해 독자에게 어떤 인상을 주는지 정리해 봄으로써,자기소개서의 효과적인 전략들을 발견하고 자신의 글에적용할 수 있도록 교육할 것을 제시하였다.

        대학 신입생 가정의 학업지원이 문제해결역량에 미치는 영향 - 학생특성과 대학특성의 병렬다중매개모형

        This study aims to explore factors that affect on problem-solving competency of 150 university freshmen. family’s academic support of freshmen were set as an independent variable, university and student traits as mediators, and the problem-solving competency as a dependent variable. The parallel multiple mediation model was applied for analyzing direct and indirect effects. As a result, the family’s academic support directly affected on the problem-solving competency. As the student traits were mediated, full mediated effects were significant. University traits did not affect on the problem-solving. Meanwhile, the family’s academic support had influence on the problemsolving of freshmen without university traits. This study investigated the factors which affect the problem-solving competency of university freshmen. Then it is suggested that some considerations are needed for freshmen’s characteristics. Finally this study discussed in future studies for strengthen students’ problem-solving competency with university education.

        대학 신입생 가정의 학업지지와 공동체 의식 간 관계에 미치는 대학특성과 학생특성의 직렬매개효과

        본 연구의 목적은 대학 신입생의 공동체 의식 역량에 가정에서의 학업지지가 미치는 영향을 확인하고 이들의 관계를 매개하는 두 요인인 대학특성과 학생특성이 어떠한 간접효과가 있는지 탐색하는데 있다. 간접효과의 확인은 SPSS를 이용한 Baron과 Kenny(1986)의 단순 및 위계적 회귀분석과 Mplus를 이용한 직렬적 다중매개모형의 두 방법으로 하였고, 대학 신입생 150명의 응답 자료를 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 가정의 학업지지는 대학 신입생의 공동체 의식역량에 직접적인 영향이 있었다. 그러나 매개변수를 투입했을 때에는 직접 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 가정의 학업지지와 공동체 의식 간 관계는 학생특성에 의해 완전히 매개되었다. 또 대학특성은 학생특성에는 영향을 주었지만, 공동체 의식에는 영향을 주지 않았으며, 가정의 학업지지는 대학특성, 학생특성 모두에 영향을 주었다. 따라서 대학특성과 학생특성을 각각 투입했을 때는 학생특성만이 완전매개효과를 나타내었고, 두 매개변수를 모두 투입했을 때에도 가정의 학업지지에서 대학특성, 학생특성을 거쳐 공동체 의식에 영향을 주는 간접효과 즉, 완전매개효과가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 본 연구는 대학 신입생에게 대학특성의 영향이 유의하지 않았던 결과를 바탕으로 검사 시기, 비교과 프로그램과 교양 교육, 장학지원 등 신입생의 공동체 의식 강화를 위해 대학특성이 긍정적으로 향상되도록 고려해 볼 방안들을 논의하고 후속 연구를 위한 보완점을 제언하였다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of family’s academic support that affects the sense of community of university freshmen. It is also aimed to explore the indirect effects of university and student traits as mediators. For this, two types of analysis about indirect effect were implicated for 150 response data of freshmen: First, the simple linear and hierarchical multiple regression were carried out with Baron & Kenny(1986) procedures. Second, a serial multiple mediation model with Mplus 8.5 was applied. As a result, family’s academic support had a direct effect on the sense of community of university freshmen. However, when the mediators were put in the model, direct effect was disappeared. The relation on family’s academic support and the sense of community was fully mediated by student traits. Family’s academic support influenced both traits of university and student. university traits had an effect on student traits though, it did not influence on the sense of community. Finally only student traits showed a full mediated effect when university and student traits were input. Even both mediators were input simultaneously, the full mediated effect on sense of community through university and student traits was statistically significant. As a results of this study, it was discussed that some considerations are needed for freshmen such as appropriate diagnosis timing, developing the support programs with scholarships, extracurricular and general education. Then some complementary points were suggested for the future study.

        입학사정관제 전형 입학생의 대학적응 특성에 대한 이해: 4년제 여자대학교의 입학생 사례를 중심으로

        이 연구는 4년제 여자대학교의 입학사정관제 전형을 통하여 선발된 학생의 대학 적응 특성을 심도있게 탐색함으로써 이들에 대한 체계적이고 계열성 있는 지원의 기초를 다지는데 목적을 둔다. 이를 달성하고자 입학사정관제 전형을 통하여 입학한 학생 8명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시한 후, 근거이론 패러다임 모형에 근거하여 분석하였다. 그결과, 입학사정관제 전형 입학생들이 타 전형 출신학생들과 스스로 차이가 있음을 인식하는 현상을 핵심범주로 도출하였다. 둘째, 이러한 핵심범주를 토대로 가설적 정형화 단계를 거쳐 근거자료와 비교한 결과, ``선구자형``, ``불만표출형``, ``지원요구형`` 등을 입학사정관제 전형 입학생의 대학 적응 유형으로 제시하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 기초로 입학사정관제 전형 입학생들을 학교자원으로 활용할 수 있는 방안 등 이들의 대학 적응 지원과 관련하여 이론적·실천적으로 제언하였다. The purpose of this study is to make suggestions how to support freshmen`s adaptation to the university life, especially focusing on those whom admitted by the admissions officer(hereafter AO). To accomplish this purpose, authors searched characteristics which four-year-women university freshmen admitted by the AO adapt themselves to the university life through conducting in-depth interviews with 8 freshmen and analyzing them with the grounded theory paradigm model. The results show a core category, the perception of the freshmen admitted by the AO in several differences from other students admitted in different ways. Secondly, three types of the grounded theory of this research, ``the process of the adaptation to the university life of freshmen admitted by the AO`` were "pioneer type", "complainer type", and "support-demander type". Based on these results, this study may provide several practical and theoretical suggestions for the support strategies helping adaptation to university life including utilizing their human resources.

        지방대학 신입생들의 학업중단 영향요인간 구조적 관계 분석

        이 연구는 지방대학 신입생들을 대상으로 학업중단 영향요인간 구조적 관계를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이 연구를 위하여 학업중단에 영향을 미치는 내생변인으로 대학 만족도, 대학생활 적응도를 설정하였고, 가정생활ㆍ경제수준, 학 업적 자기효능감, 전공 적성 및 진로 부합도, 교수와의 상호작용성, 전공의 취업전망도를 외생변인으로 하는 연구 모델을 설정하였다. 지방소재 대학의 신입생 627명을 대상으로 설문자료를 수집하였으며, 연구 모델에 포함된 요인들의 상관 관계 매트릭스를 LISREL에 삽입하여 구조방정식 모델 분석을 수행하였다. 이 연구의 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 연구에서 제시된 구조방정식 모델의 전반적 적합도 검증 결과는 RMSEA=.058, RMR=.048, GFI=.894, AGFI=.868, CFI=.927, IFI=.927, CN=244.91 등으로 분석되어 모델의 적합도는 양호하였다. 둘째, 구조방정식 모델에서 관계성을 분석한 결과 지방대학 신입생들의 학업중단 의도에 대해 대학 만족도, 대학생활 적응도, 전공 적성 및 진로 부합도, 학업적 자기효능감, 교수와의 상호작용성이 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 대학 만족도에는 전공 적성 및 진로 부합도, 교수와의 상호작용성이, 대학생활 적응도에는 대학 만족도, 학업적 자기효능감, 교수와의 상호작용성이 유의미한 직접효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 결국 모델의 변인 간 직접ㆍ간접효과와 경로 관계를 분석한 결과 대학 만족도, 대학생활 적응도, 전공 적성 및 진로부합도, 교수와의 상호작용성이 학업중단의 영향요인 간 관계에서 핵심변인으로분석되었다. The study purpose was to identify what factors affect academic dropout intention of local university freshmen. A sample of 627 university freshmen participated in the research. According to the goodness-of-fit test results (RMSEA=.058, RMR=.048, GFI=.894, AGFI=.868, CFI=.927, IFI=.927, CN=244.91), the model turned out to be good enough to conduct the research. It was identified that university satisfaction, adaptability to university life, academic self-efficacy, major fitness/career relation, and professor-student interaction were significantly related to academic dropout intention. In terms of direct effect result, university satisfaction, academic self-efficacy and professor-student interaction had significant relationships with adaptability to university life. The study result also confirmed that university satisfaction was influenced by major fitness/career relation, professor-student interaction. Finally, university satisfaction, adaptability to university life, major fitness/career relation, and professor-student interaction were identified as key variable through their direct and indirect effect on academic dropout intention of local university freshmen.

        대학교 신입생을 위한 내러티브 기반 교육과정 개발: 기독교대학 교양교과를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to develop curriculum based on narrative for freshmen in university. The narrative includes one’s identity that integrates one’s past, present, and future. The theoretical basis and educational principle for this curriculum are the following three. First, identity formation is a developmental psychological task of university students, and narrative identity can be explored and formed through a narrative inquiry as curriculum. Second, self-narrative writing curriculum is required to support a holistic maturity of freshmen in university. The writing includes an ontological insight into one’s own life as an educational content. Third, a curriculum based on the mentoring community principle is needed for freshmen to form critical and inner-dependent meanings in university. Based on these principles, the educational purpose, content, method, and evaluation criteria have been designed. And Curriculum based on Narrative for Freshmen have been developed through the implementation, evaluation and improvement process. This curriculum will contribute to support a holistic maturity and adulthood design for freshmen in university. 본 연구의 목적은 대학교 신입생이 자기정체성 내러티브를 생성해내는 내러티브 기반 교육과정을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위한 이론적 근거 및 교육원리는 다음의 세 가지이다. 첫째, 대학생의 발달심리학적 과제인 정체성 형성을 위해 자신의 경험을 말하고 성찰하는 내러티브 탐구의 교육과정이 필요하다. 둘째, 대학교가 전인적으로 성숙한 인간을 형성하기 위해 자신의 삶에 대한 존재론적 통찰을 실제 교육내용으로 다루는 자기 내러티브 글쓰기 과정이 필요하다. 셋째, 비평적이고 내면 의존적인 성인기적 의미 형성을 위해 멘토링 공동체 원리에 기반한 교과가 필요하다. 본 연구는 위의 세 가지를 원리를 기반으로 교육목적, 교육내용 및 교육방법, 평가 기준을 설계하였고, 3회 차의 실행과 평가 및 개선과정을 거쳐 개발한 교양교과를 소개하였다. 본 교과는 전인적으로 건강하고 성숙한 성인의 삶은 물론 대학생활과 성인기 설계에 도움이 될 것이라 기대한다.
