      • CMI와 THI에 의한 서울시내 개인택시 실내환경 근무 운전기사의 건강영향 평가 연구

        손종렬(Jong-Ryeul Sohn),변상훈(Sang-Hoon Byun),노영만(Young-Man Roh),김윤신(Yoon-Shin Kim) 한국실내환경학회 2005 한국실내환경학회지 Vol.1 No.2

This study was performed to investigate the health status of 600 owner-driver of taxi in Seoul City during from August 1, 2003 to February 28, 2004. The prevalence of subjective symptoms were surveyed by a general health questionnaires such as Todai Health Index (THI) and the Cornell Medical Index (CMI). In the THI health check table, prevalence of the complaints of mental subjective symptom by age was high in the items of fabrication (L), digestion (C), and aggressiveness (F) from 31 to 40 years old drivers and mental subjective symptom by age was high in all items except for tiredness (I), melancholia (N), and hypersensitivity (P) for the 60 years old drivers and showed in the items of melancholia (N) and hypersensitivity (P) for the 40 years old. From the complaints of mental and physical subjective symptoms about work satisfaction in the THI health check table, the strong dissatisfaction showed in the all items except for eye and skin trouble (B). All items except hypersensitivity (P) showed dissatisfaction in prevalence of complains of mental and physical subjective symptoms about work satisfaction in the CMI health check table. From the complains of mental and physical subjective symptoms on salary satisfaction in the THI health check table, the taxi driver who earn the salary of 1 million won showed statistically significant symptom of eye and skin trouble (B) and showed high tendency in all items except for respiratory (A) and digestion (C) systems. It is suggested that the appropriate health control for owner-driver of taxi should be applied to reduce the prevalence of complaints that showed mainly in the irregular working time and sleeping disorders.

THI에 의한 서울시 지하철 역사 근로자의 신체 및 심리적 증상에 관한 연구

        손종렬,김선철,변상훈,문경환,김영환 한국산업위생학회 2003 한국산업보건학회지 Vol.13 No.2

This paper reports an investigaion for the health status of subway workers in the 67 subway stations in the Seoul area during from September 15th to Nobimber 15th, 2002 . Prevalence of subuective complaints was surveyed of 400 subway workers applied by a general health questionnaire-the Todai Health index(THI). The basic tool employed in this present study was the THI which is modified Comell Medical Index(CMI) and was developed by Tokyo University Research Team in Japan, and had been used to evaluate manufacturing workers, iron workers and other workers by Kim(1979), Chung(1982), Lym(1987), Lee(1996) in Korea. The results were summarized as follows; 1. The physical and psychological complaints were much higher in the 20~29 age group than other age groups. 2. The physical and psychological complaints showed a high tendency of increased incidence in all items as length of service decreased, and the 3~5 years group was higher than less 1 year group with regard to the symptoms of Digestive(C), Aggressiveness(F), Nervousness(E). 3. The physical and psychological complaints showed much higher tendency in the station staff(S?S) group than other groups. 4. The physical and psychological complaints showed much higher tendency in the under station(Un.S) and upper station (Un.S) groups than other groups. 5. The responses of physical and psychological complaints by monthly pay showed much higher tendency in he income of 10.1~1.50 millions won group than other groups. 6. The responses of physical and psychological complaints by smoker or non-smoker showed much higher tendency in the smoker group than non-smoker group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the worker of subway studied was perceived as acceptable the importance of health status, and suggested that the goverment of related subway need to be effort to control the health of subway workers in environment of indoor.

Vol.18 No.6

This study evaluates the impact of aircraft noise on people's health using the Todai health index(THI). A questionnaire survey was conducted in the vicinity of Gimpo International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, from August 8th to September 9th, 2005. The survey area was divided into three groups based on different aircraft noise levels : area (1) for $80{\sim}85$ WECPNL, area (2) for $75{\sim}80$ WECPNL and area (3) for less than 75 WECPNL. In each area, approximately 200 respondents were sampled. Twelve scale scores of THI are converted to dichotomous variables based on scale scores of 90 percentile value or 10 percentile value in the control group. Logistic regression analysis taking twelve scores converted as the dependent variables and WECPNL(area), age, gender as the independent variables is conducted. Significant dose-response relationships are found in the scale of MOUT, DEPR, NERV, LIFE. Factor analysis was carried out and 2 factors are extracted. Those two factors might be called the 'somatic factor' and the 'mental factor'. The dose-response relationship between two factors and noise seems to be unclear. Unexpectedly the odds ratio of the menatl factor in area (2), where the noise exposure level is lower than that of the area (1), is the highest and the annoyance in this area is also higher than area (1).
