In order to investigate an effect of non-protein nitrogen (NPN) on the energy metabolism of chicks, hatched Single Comb White Leghorn male chicks were fed for the first 8 days on a commercial chick mash, followed by 6 days on protein-free diet and the subsequent 6 days on the protein-free diets and protein diets containing 10.59% of crude protein supplemented with 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5% of urea, respectively. When birds were fed on protein-free diets during 6 days of experimental feeding period, protein and lipid retentions were in negative balance. Protein loss was least in birds fed 1.0% of urea and lipid loss decreased in the order of increasing level of urea in the diets. The rate (MEn/GE) of metabolizable energy (MEn) to the gross energy (GE) tended to decrease in birds fed urea and the rate (ER/MEn) of energy retention (GR) to the MEn were -19.5∼-22.0%. The MEn intake and heat production (FIP) per metabolic body size (㎏^(0.75)) was lowered in the order of the increasing level of urea in diets, and ER her ㎏^(0.75) of birds fed 1.0 and 1.5% of urea was increased. Birds fed protein diets containing urea deposited more protein and less lipids compared to those containing no urea. The MEn/GE of protein diets supplemented with the urea were higher and the ER or ER/MFn were lower than those without supplementation. The MGn intake per ㎏^(0.75) of birds fed protein diet containing 1.5% of urea was increased and the ER was lowered in birds fed diets contained urea, and the HP was increased in the order of the increasing levels of urea in the diets.

In domestic industry, more than 95% of high temperature and pressure control valves are being imported and particularly, all of the AOV actuators for nuclear power plants are being imported. There is, therefore, an urgent need to localize them. As a part of the effort for localization, System Design and Development (SDD) designed and manufactured main components of Q Class control valve for nuclear power plants such as body, yoke, bonnet, and actuator based on ASME code. In this study, seismic qualification was performed for the AOV actuator to validate integrity. The fundamental frequency of the equipment was identified through analysis and operating basis earthquake (OBE) and safe shutdown earthquake (SSE) test was performed according to the requirements of IEEE 344 (1987) and 382 (1996).

Under localization developing for the control valve of the safety grade Q Class 1 which is established in the atomic power plant followed ASME Code and important parts (Body, Yoke, Bonner, Actuator) design and produced. In order to verify this analyzed the earthquake stress of AOV. AOV the above of 33㎐ occurred from first mode, the earthquake stress occurred from inside the yield strength of the material.

Domestic Enforcement Regulation of the Atomic Energy Act requires the Equipment Qualification (EQ) of safety-related equipment in nuclear power plants to be included at Periodic Safety Review (PSR). The purpose of this study is to verify the integrity of AOV (Air Operated Valve) actuator by equipment qualification, which will be followed by the localization of the AOV and its actuator. The AOV actuator, whose model number is SDD-VA-1, was developed based on the requirements of the relevant ASME and ASNI Codes. The procedure for the equipment qualification was established based on the EQ Rule (10CFR50.49), Reg. Guide 1.89, IEEE 323(1983) and IEEE 382(1972). Detailed test procedure was based on that of Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) and the EQTR of a referenced valve was used.

Generally, active suspension system is divided with low band active suspension system and full active suspension system. This active suspension system is reported system which is satisfied with ride and handling by control of the vehicle motions( bounce, pitch and roll). Presently, a study of active suspension system is also within the country proceeding actively, Therefore, this paper describes the test results of gain variation using sky-hook control theory suggested by Karnopp.<br/>
