        폭발합성법에 의한 Ti5Si3 계 금속간화합물의 합성

        Synthesis of an intermetallic compound based on Ti_5Si₃ by an explosive compaction of elemental powders was studied. The main experimental variable was the detonation velocity, and it was found that the relative density of the compacted compound increased with the detonation velocity. To enhance the density of the compound further, however, it was deemed necessary to consider variables such as the can, powder and the backup tube. From an X-ray diffraction analysis of the explosion-compacted compound it was confirmed that formation of the Ti_5Si₃ phase was complete. Apart from the needs to further improve the density and crack resistance of the compacted alloy, the present work indicates that the explosion synthesis has a potential to be developed as a consolidation method for Ti_5Si₃ intermetallic compounds.

        This writer tries to examine the current situation regarding the sermon criticism of Korean churches and propose a few things to establish the foundation of biblical preaching in Korean churches through this paper. In fact, the word, sermon criticism is being used very rarely not only in the Korean churches but also in the Western churches. And it can not be easily found in the western homiletic world as far as books or papers regarding the sermon criticism are concerned. In the midst of this current situation, Korean churches begin to have a great interest in a sermon criticism.But the sermon criticism based on the wrong theology might be cause for wrong preaching and a great danger to impede wholesome words. On the other hand, the interest regarding the right sermon criticism based on biblical theology will play a far bigger part in making the pulpit as the word of truth. For this purpose, I will take a look at the history of sermon criticism in Korean churches. Then secondly, I would like to analyze the contents of the sermon criticism and evaluate its validity. Finally, I try to make five suggestions in order to make right sermon criticism settled in Korean churches. First, the biblical homiletic theology should be in a triangular position for the right sermon criticism of the pulpit of Korean churches. Second, for the balanced criticism, preachers and their sermon must be studied simultaneously. Third, sublation of criticism with a critic's viewpoint to his heart's content and a hermeneutical critique attitude toward analyzing the sermon with respect of preachers’intention must be provided. Fourth, the same interest not only in the preachers’body of sermon but also in the delivery of sermon must be needed as well. Fifth, a sermon must be comprehended under the live worship circumstance on account of a sermon being dynamic in the background of every service. The word of God through preaching is not an object of a critique but the object of obedience. But preaching can be developed by the creative criticism. I hope that the pulpit experiences the holy change in every sermon in accordance with sermon criticism positioning as a constructive academic field, and with the sermon of Korean churches putting down new roots in the Bible drastically, and permeating into auditors’lives accurately.

        Using the Korean Translation of Disney’s Mulan to Learn About Cross-Cultural Awareness

        This paper is an attempt to learn about cross-cultural issues using the Korean dubbed and subtitled translation of Disney’s Mulan. The concept of ‘Cultural Re-saturation’ is introduced as a form of domestication chosen as a translational solution when the target culture (TC) audience knows more about the source text (ST) context than the source culture (SC) audience. Mulan is created under distinct circumstances: although based on the Ballad of Mulan, a Chinese cultural legacy, it was scripted and made by the American animation studio, Walt Disney Pictures. The original English dialogue of the film, the dubbed version and the subtitles of the official Korean DVD of Mulan were analyzed to present a model for the study of cross-cultural awareness through translation. The resulting Korean target text (TT) tends to carry a lot more cultural nuances than the original American source text, as the text is adapted to suit an audience more informed of the cultural context. Defining this phenomenon as Cultural Re-saturation, this paper attempts to portray the prevalence of this tactic within the official translations of Mulan and aims to provide a means for gaining an enhanced cross-cultural understanding of the complexity and subtlety of culture and language.

        일반화된 신호 압신법에 기반한 향상된 차분전력분석 방법

        차분전력공격(Differential Power Analysis, DPA)의 효율성은 수집신호 정렬도를 비롯한 다양한 잡음에 많은 영향을 받는다. 최근에 Ryoo등은 잡음 신호를 극복하여 DPA의 분석성능 향상을 가져오는 효과적인 신호처리기법을 소개했다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 제안된 신호처리기법이 적용되지 않은 경우를 보이고, 이에 대한 해결방안으로 차분파형모델(Differential Trace Model, DTM)을 제안한다. 또한 제안된 DTM이 DPA 분석에 적합한가에 대해 이론적으로 증명하고 실험을 통해 검증한다. Differential Power Analysis is fully affected by various noises including temporal misalignment. Recently, Ryoo et al have introduced an efficient preprocessor method leading to improvements in DPA by removing the noise signals. This paper experimentally proves that the existing preprocessor method is not applied to all processor. To overcome this defect, we propose a Differential Trace Model(DTM). Also, we theoretically prove and experimentally confirm that the proposed DTM suites DPA.

      • Selective Cytotoxic Activity of Valinomycin against HT-29 Human Colon Carcinoma Cells <i>via</i> Down-Regulation of GRP78

        <P>Glucose deprivation is a fundamental feature of poorly vascularized solid tumors and leads to activation of the molecular chaperone GRP78, which is associated with the unfolded protein response (UPR), a stress-signaling pathway, in tumor cells. We recently isolated an active compound, M126, that inhibits transcription from a GRP78 promoter reporter construct. M126 was identified as valinomycin by various spectroscopic methods. We found that valinomycin prevents UPR-induced protein expression, such as GRP78 and GRP94. The GRPs-inhibitory action of valinomycin severe hypoglycemic and results in selective cell death of the stressed cancer cells. Our findings demonstrate that GRP78 may be an excellent target for the use of cancer chemotherapy in the treatment of solid tumors.</P>

        Involvement of NRF2 Signaling in Doxorubicin Resistance of Cancer Stem Cell-Enriched Colonospheres

        Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are a subset of tumor cells, which are characterized by resistance against chemotherapy and environmental stress, and are known to cause tumor relapse after therapy. A number of molecular mechanisms underlie the chemoresistance of CSCs, including high expression levels of drug efflux transporters. We investigated the role of the antioxidant transcription factor NF-E2-related factor 2 (NRF2) in chemoresistance development, using a CSC-enriched colonosphere system. HCT116 colonospheres were more resistant to doxorubicin-induced cell death and expressed higher levels of drug efflux transporters such as P-glycoprotein (Pgp) and breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP) compared to HCT116 monolayers. Notably, levels of NRF2 and expression of its target genes were substantially elevated in colonospheres, and these increases were linked to doxorubicin resistance. When NRF2 expression was silenced in colonospheres, Pgp and BCRP expression was downregulated, and doxorubicin resistance was diminished. Collectively, these results indicate that NRF2 activation contributes to chemoresistance acquisition in CSC-enriched colonospheres through the upregulation of drug efflux transporters.

      • Structure–Property Correlation in Luminescent Indolo[3,2-<i>b</i>]indole (IDID) Derivatives: Unraveling the Mechanism of High Efficiency Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence (TADF)

        <P>A series of indolo[3,2-b]indole (IDID) derivatives are designed as a novel structural platform for thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters. Intramolecular charge transfer (ICT)-type molecules consisting of IDID donor (D) and various acceptor (A) moieties are synthesized and characterized in the protocol of the systematical striicture-property correlation IDID derivatives exhibit high efficiency, prompt fluorescence as well as TADF with emission ranges tuned by the chemical structure of the acceptor, units. Interestingly, almost all of the IDID derivatives show an identical energy level of the lowest triplet excited state (T-1) attributed to the locally excited triplet state of the IDID backbone ((LEID)-L-3), while that of their lowest singlet excited state (S-1) is largely tuned by varying the acceptor units. Thus, we demonstrate the underlying mechanism in terms of the molecular engineering. Among the compounds, Tria-phIDID and BP-phIDID generate efficient delayed fluorescence based on the small energy gap between the lowest singlet and triplet excited states (Delta E-ST) and mediation of the (LEID)-L-3 state. Organic light-emitting diodes with these Tria-phIDID and BP-phIDID as a dopant in the emitting layer show highly efficient electroluminescence with maximum external quantum efficiencies of 20.8% and 13.9%, respectively.</P>
