Comprehensive and high‐resolution typing of swine leukocyte antigen DQA from genomic DNA and determination of 25 new SLA class II haplotypes

        Le, M. T.,Choi, H.,Choi, M.&#x2010,K.,Nguyen, D. T.,Kim, J.&#x2010,H.,Seo, H. G.,Cha, S.&#x2010,Y.,Seo, K.,Chun, T.,Schook, L. B.,Park, C. Munksgaard 2012 Tissue antigens Vol.80 No.6

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We previously reported the development of genomic‐DNA‐based high‐resolution genotyping methods for SLA‐DQB1 and DRB1. Here, we report the successful typing of SLA‐DQA using similar methodological principles. We designed a method for comprehensive genotyping of SLA‐DQA using intronic sequence information of SLA‐DQA exon 2 that we had obtained from 12 animals with different SLA‐DQB1 genotypes. We expanded our typing to 76 selected animals with diverse DQB1 and DRB1 genotypes, 140 random animals from 7 pig breeds, and 3 wild boars. This resulted in the identification of 17 DQA alleles with 49 genotypes. Two new alleles were identified from wild boars. Combine with SLA‐DQB1, and DRB1 typing results, we identified 34 SLA class II haplotypes including 25 that were previously unreported.</P>

      • Influences of the Irradiation of Intense Pulsed Ion Beam (IPIB) on the Surface of Ni₃Al Base Alloy IC6

        X. Y. Le,S. Yan,W. J. Zhao,B. H. Han,Y. G. Wang,J. M. Xue,H. T. Zhang 한국진공학회(ASCT) 2002 Journal of Korean Vacuum Science & Technology Vol.6 No.2

In this paper, we treated the Ni₃Al based alloy samples with intense pulsed ion beams (IPIB) at the beam parameters of 250KV acceleration voltage, 100 - 200 A/㎤ current density and 60 ㎱ pulse duration. We simulated the thermal-mechanical process near the surface of Ni₃Al based alloy with our STEIPIB codes. The surface morphology and the cross-section microstructures of samples were observed with SEM, the composition of the sample surface layer was determined by X-ray Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (XEDS) and the microstructure on the surface was observed by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). The results show that heating rate increases with the current density of IPIB and cooling rate reached highest value less than 150 A/㎤. The irradiation of IPIB induced the segregation of Mo and adequate beam parameter can improve anti-oxidation property of IC6 alloy. Some craters come from extraneous debris and liquid droplets, and some maybe due to the melting of the intersection region of interphase. Increasing the pulse number enlarges average size of craters and decreases number density of craters.

A calculation on the Metal - Film Mixing by Intense Pulse Ion Beam (IPIB)

        X. Y. Le,S. Yan,W. J. Zhao,Y. G. Wang,J. M. Xue 한국진공학회(ASCT) 2003 Applied Science and Convergence Technology Vol.12 No.S1

In this paper, we studied, by numerical calculation, a system, which was composed of metal-film and metal-substrate irradiated by IPIB with beam ion energy 250 keV, current density 10 to 250 A/㎠. While the IPIB irradiation was going on, an induced effect named mixing occurred. In this case, metal-film and part of metal-substrate melted and mixed. The mixing state was kept as it was in melting phase due to the fast cooling rate. Our works were simulating the heating and cooling process via our STEIPIB program and tried to find proper parameters for a specific filmsubstrate system, 500 ㎚ titanium film coated on aluminum, to get best mixing results. The parameters calculated for such Ti-Al system were compared with the experimental results and were in good accordance to the experimental results.

        Interacting Superparamagnetism in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 Nanoparticles

        Le Van Hong,D. H. Manh,Ha M. Nguyen,N. X. Phuc,Y. D. Yao 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.52 No.5

ThemagneticorderofLa0:7Sr0:3MnO3nanoparticles(NPs)fabricatedinaSPEXD800milwas systematicalystudied. TheLa0:7Sr0:3MnO3 nanocrystalsgrowfromthemiledconstituentoxides during the miling proceses. The magnetization data obtained by using a SQUID magnetometer show the NPs as a superparamagnet in terms of anhysteretic curves near rom temperature. Un- overlaping of the scaled M(Hext;T)=Ms vs. Hext=T plots and the dc susceptibility obeying the Curie-Weis behavior rather than the Curie law at high temperatures provide evidence that the NPs are interacting superparamagnetic ensembles. A mean-eld corection to the Langevin func- tion L([Hext+M]=kBT) worked wel for the magnetic ordering of the NPs. By means of the Langevinting,thediameteroftheNPwasestimatedtobelowerthan15nm,dependingonthe miling time. The saturation magnetization of NPs varied from 48.5 em/g to 19 emu/g, with the highervaluecorespondingtoalargerparticlesize. Acore-shelstructureoftheNPwasadopted, with the NP having the core-shel magneticaly-eective mas density.

      • Reliability Lifespan Prediction of MEMS Vertical Probe Using Various Interconnection Structures

        X. L. Le(르콴러),D. T. Vuong(병득팅),M. Y. Kim(김민영),S. H. Choa(좌성훈) Korean Society for Precision Engineering 2021 한국정밀공학회 학술발표대회 논문집 Vol.2021 No.11월

In semiconductor manufacturing, wafer testing is a mandatory process to ensure yield good electrical connections on the wafer before packaging. The probe card is a specially designed device for testing electrical connection and performance on the wafer. Probe card need 500,000 to one million touchdowns on the wafer. There are many models to estimate the fatigue life of probes through the actual test. However, these methods are costly and ineffective due to the difficulty in setting the measuring system and the variable geometry of the probes. Using numerical analysis, we offer a method of estimate the fatigue life of various probes including NiCo and AgCu. This model is based on maximum von-Mises stress generated during probe and wafer contact with stress-life (S-N) data. The lifespan analysis of probe contacted with specially shaped interconnection structures such as solder ball, TSV (Through Silicon via), copper pillar bump for wafer level packaging was performed. We found that the NiCo probe has the longest lifespan when in contact with a solder ball, and the worst was when in contact with TSV. This analysis will offer a reference for the fatigue life estimation of the probe during probe card design.

Associations between income and survival in cholangiocarcinoma: A comprehensive subtype-based analysis

        Calvin X. Geng,Anuragh R. Gudur,Jagannath Kadiyala,Daniel S. Strand,Vanessa M. Shami,Andrew Y. Wang,Alexander Podboy,Tri M. Le,Matthew Reilley,Victor Zaydfudim,Ross C. D. Buerlein 한국간담췌외과학회 2024 Annals of hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery Vol.28 No.2

Backgrounds/Aims: Socioeconomic determinants of health are incompletely characterized in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). We assessed how socioeconomic status influences initial treatment decisions and survival outcomes in patients with CCA, additionally performing multiple sub-analyses based on anatomic location of the primary tumor. Methods: Observational study using the 2018 submission of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER)-18 Database. In total, 5,476 patients from 2004−2015 with a CCA were separated based on median household income (MHI) into low income (< 25th percentile of MHI) and high income (> 25th percentile of MHI) groups. Seventy-three percent of patients had complete follow up data, and were included in survival analyses. Survival and treatment outcomes were calculated using R-studio. Results: When all cases of CCA were included, the high-income group was more likely than the low-income to receive surgery, chemotherapy, and local tumor destruction modalities. Initial treatment modality based on income differed significantly between tumor locations. Patients of lower income had higher overall and cancer-specific mortality at 2 and 5 years. Non-cancer mortality was similar between the groups. Survival differences identified in the overall cohort were maintained in the intrahepatic CCA subgroup. No differences between income groups were noted in cancer-specific or overall mortality for perihilar tumors, with variable differences in the distal cohort. Conclusions: Lower income was associated with higher rates of cancer-specific mortality and lower rates of surgical resection in CCA. There were significant differences in treatment selection and outcomes between intrahepatic, perihilar, and distal tumors. Population- based strategies aimed at identifying possible etiologies for these disparities are paramount to improving patient outcomes.

Temperature dependence of the dielectric function of monolayer MoS2

        V.L. Le,T.J. Kim,H.G. Park,H.T. Nguyen,X.A. Nguyen,Y. D. Kim 한국물리학회 2019 Current Applied Physics Vol.19 No.2

An analytic expression of the dielectric function of monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) ε = ε1 + iε2 is presented for energies from 1.4 to 6.0 eV and temperatures from 35 to 350 K. The dielectric function parametric model is used to express ε as a sum of polynomials, which naturally includes asymmetry of critical-point lineshapes. The temperature dependence is achieved by fitting model parameters. In this way, the dielectric function of MoS2 for arbitrary temperature can be calculated. We observed the fundamental absorption peak, which occurs at the K point of the Brillouin zone. These results are expected to be useful in designing and understanding applied-device technologies based on monolayer MoS2.
