Background Development of genetically modified crops has rapidly increased in last few years. The most widely grown GM crops express genes that confer herbicide tolerance and insect resistance. Detection system of GM crops is important for safety evaluation before its consumption. Objective The purpose of this research is to detect GM crops, especially PAT, in food-samples. Results The bar gene (PAT protein, herbicide resistant) was cloned in pGEX-4T-1 and expressed by E. coli. The high-affinity PAT-specific single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) aptamers were obtained from a random DNA library. MOE docking study was performed to identify the potential binding region of the selected aptamers on PAT. Aptamer-linked immobilized sorbent assay (ALISA) method was used to detect PAT. Conclusion We screened aptamer against PAT for developing an efficient detection method. The selected PAT specific aptamers, HRPA-05 and HRPA-07, showed the distinct target binding behaviors, and detected PAT protein by aptamer-linked immobilized sorbent assay method with high efficiency and selectivity.

The purpose of this study is to identify with visual data whether interest in eSports affects the poster's information search. Scan path and hit map were collected using eye tracker and eye tracking program. As a result, 1) In the case of interest, the event was the first to notice, and in the case of non-interested was the first to see the title. 2) The amount of information collected by interested persons was greater. 3) In the case of interest, the most attention stayed on the event, and in the case of non-interested, the most attention stayed on the title. If additional research on eSports is conducted, various approaches can be used as marketing materials that can be applied to poster design production.

OLEDs of the bilayer structure with ITO/NPB/Alq3/LiF/Al were fabricated by vacuum thermal evaporation. I-V-L(current-voltage-luminance) and charge mobility could be measured with TEL(transient electroluminescence) as the temperature was varied from 300K to 50 K. Current, current density and EL were decreased as the temperature was decreased.

A 4 years old, mixed male dog with a history of traffic accident was presented to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with tachypnea and respiratory distress. Physical examination showed that the dog was auscultated crackles sounds, dysynchronous abdominal breathing pattern, hemoptysis, hematuria, urodynia and right and left scleral congestion. Blood and blood chemical examination revealed that WBC, AST and ALT was highly elevated. Parenchymal pulmonary fluid and closed pneumothorax were observed by thoracic radiography. This case was diagnosed as pulmonary contusion. Intravenous fluid and oxygen was administered and also dexamethasone(1mg/kg, Ⅳ), furosemide(2mg/kg, Ⅳ), (ampicillin, 20mg/kg, Ⅳ) and meloxicam(0.2mg/kg, PO) were intravenously injected for 5 days. Abnormal clinical signs were disappeared after treatment.

A 3-month-old, 3.85kg female Jin-do dog with chief complaint of bloody diarrhea and depression was referred to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Chungnam National University. In fecal examination, trophozoites of giardia were observed and It was diagnosed as canine giardiasis. For treatment, metronidazole was administered orally for 5 days at a dose of 22mg/kg q12h. Diarrhea was not observed on 3 days after medication and most of clinical signs were disappeared on 7 days after medication with metronidazole. General conditions and activitivities became good on 13 days after medication. In addition, cysts or trophozoites of giardia were not detected any more in fecal examination using floating method with zinc sulphate solution. The present patient was a case of canine giardiasis that showed favorable response to metronidazole.

Purpose: To investigate the clinical results of vitrectomy alone as the primary treatment for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RD) in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). Methods: The medical records of patients with AD treated for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RD) were retrospectivelyreviewed. We investigated the characteristics of retinal breaks and detachments, applied surgical methods, and results. Results: Twenty eyes of 14 patients with AD who presented with rhegmatogenous RD and treated by vitrectomy were includedin this analysis. Sixteen eyes (80%) were treated with vitrectomy, either alone or in combination with cataract surgery,and the retina was successfully attached to 94% of the eyes. There were four cases in which vitrectomy was combined withencircling. Reoperation was needed in half of the eyes that received vitrectomy with encircling, which presented nearly totaldetachment, severe proliferative vitreoretinopathy, and pseudophakia. Conclusions: Vitrectomy alone, in combination with cataract surgery, may be sufficient to treat rhegmatogenous RD in patientswith AD. Additional encircling or buckling should still be considered in complicated cases.

<P>A novel Gram-staining-negative, facultatively anaerobic, motile and rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain LHW37<SUP>T</SUP>, was isolated from a dead ark clam collected on the south coast of Korea. The novel strain grew optimally at 37 °C, at pH 7.0-8.0 and with 2 % (w/v) NaCl. The predominant cellular fatty acids were C18 : 1ω7<I>c</I> and summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω7<I>c</I> and/or iso-C15 : 0 2-OH). The major isoprenoid quinone was ubiquinone-8 (Q-8) and the predominant polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylglycerol. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that the novel strain was most closely related to <I>Neptunomonas japonica</I> JAMM 0745<SUP>T</SUP> (97.1 % sequence similarity). The genomic DNA G+C content of strain LHW37<SUP>T</SUP> was 48.2 mol%. The DNA-DNA relatedness values recorded in hybridization experiments between the novel strain and its closest known relative were ≤18 %. Based on the phenotypic, genotypic and phylogenetic data, strain LHW37<SUP>T</SUP> represents a novel species belonging to the genus <I>Neptunomonas</I> for which the name <I>Neptunomonas concharum</I> sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is LHW37<SUP>T</SUP> ( = KACC 15543<SUP>T</SUP> = JCM 17730<SUP>T</SUP>). An emended description of the genus <I>Neptunomonas</I> is also provided.</P>

<P>Novel heterolayered nanocomposites consisting of interstratifiedMnO<SUB>2</SUB> and [Mn<SUB>1/3</SUB>Co<SUB>1/3</SUB>Ni<SUB>1/3</SUB>]O<SUB>2</SUB> nanosheets are synthesized by a layer-by-layer self-assemblybetween negatively charged metal oxide nanosheets and lithium cations.According to powder X-ray diffraction and micro-Raman analysis, allof the as-prepared Li<SUP>+</SUP>–<I>x</I>MnO<SUB>2</SUB>–(1–<I>x</I>)[Mn<SUB>1/3</SUB>Co<SUB>1/3</SUB>Ni<SUB>1/3</SUB>]O<SUB>2</SUB> nanocomposites with <I>x</I> = 1, 0.7, and 0.4 have a lamella structure with similarbasal spacing of ∼7.1 Å, indicating the formation of lithiumintercalation structure with cointercalated water bilayers. The nanoscalemixing of MnO<SUB>2</SUB> and [Mn<SUB>1/3</SUB>Co<SUB>1/3</SUB>Ni<SUB>1/3</SUB>]O<SUB>2</SUB> nanosheets is confirmed by energy-dispersivespectrometry–elemental mapping analysis. Upon a self-assemblywith Li<SUP>+</SUP> ions, there occur no marked changes in the octahedralsymmetry and mixed oxidation state of M<SUP>3+</SUP>/M<SUP>4+</SUP> ions (M = Mn, Co, and Ni) in the precursor metal oxide nanosheets.All of the as-prepared nanocomposites commonly experience a structuraltransformation from hydrated layered structure to dehydrated layeredstructure at 200 °C, which is followed by the second-phase transitionto cubic spinel structure at 600 °C. Despite distinct structuralchanges of the nanocomposites at elevated temperatures, their porousstacking structure is well-maintained up to 400 °C. The heat-treatmentat 400 °C leads to a significant improvement of the dischargecapacity of the present nanocomposites because of the dehydrationof as-prepared materials and the enhancement of crystallinity. Thedoping of [Mn<SUB>1/3</SUB>Co<SUB>1/3</SUB>Ni<SUB>1/3</SUB>]O<SUB>2</SUB> layers enables us not only to increase the discharge capacityof the Li–MnO<SUB>2</SUB> nanocomposite but also to preventthe phase transition of layered manganese oxide to spinel structureduring electrochemical cycling.
