The noise intensities were measured and its attenuations were investigated from various kinds of automobiles on heavy traffic road under the following conditions; 1. Measuring points were taken 7.5m and 15m from sound source. 2. The small, medium and large size of automobiles were chosen as sampling automobiles. 3. Noise intensities were measured from various kinds of automobiles with the speed of 40km/h below, 65km/h below, 80km/h below and 80km/h upper respectively. 4. The kinds of engine of automobiles were chosen both of gasoline and diesel engine. With the above conditions the varying of noise intensities were measured and with its results the attenuations of noise were calculated accordance with the frequency bands.
Change in Alpha-fetoprotein Levels in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients on Tenofovir Therapy

Aims: Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) has been widely used as a biomarkerfor hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, AFP levels may elevatein chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients who are candidates for oralnucleos(t)ide analogue (NA) therapy. The response of AFP levels totenofovir therapy is largely unknown. The aim of this study was toinvestigate factors related with AFP elevation and effects of tenofoviron AFP changes in CHB patients.Methods: The serial changes in AFP levels were analyzed in a retrospectivecohort of 262 naive CHB patients who received oversix-months of treatment with tenofovir.Results: Among the 262 patients, 71 showed high pre-treatment AFPvalues ( > 10 ng/dl), with mean and SD being 145.7 and 302.6ng/dl, respectively. When baseline parameters were statistically evaluatedin relation to the AFP value, albumin were significantly lower (p < 0.001) and prothrombin time, bilirubin and aspartate aminotransferase(AST) levels were significantly higher in the high AFP group( p = 0.002, 0.001 and 0.008, respectively). Post-treatment AFP wassignificantly reduced in both the high AFP (mean, 4.1 to 2.9 ng/dl[p < 0.001〕) and low AFP group (mean, 147.6 to 7.0 ng/dl [p <0.001〕). Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that normalization of AFP occurredin 62 patients (88.6%) during follow-up, with a mean normalizedtime of 9.1 months. There were 7 patients of newly diagnosedHCC during follow-up. Post-treatment AFP was significantly reduced(mean, 53.7 to 7.0 ng/dl [p < 0.043〕).Conclusions: In candidates for NA therapy, elevated AFP levels areassociated with more advanced stage of CHB. Tenofovir has shownefficacy in reducing AFP levels, even in newly diagnosed HCC patients.

The elastic compliance and stiffness constants for hexagonal polycrystalline materials with sheet and fiber texture are calculated in Reuss-Voigt-Hill approximation by averaging corresponding properties of the single cystal weighted with the crystallites orientation distribution function(ODF). They depend only on the first five coefficients in the series expansion of ODF for sheet texture and two for fiber texture. Based on the ODF coefficients obtained by neutron diffraction, anisotropy of Young's modulus was estimated for Zircaloy-4 sheet and tube samples as well as a Zircaloy-2 rod sample.
Stabilization of Compact Protein Structures by Macrocyclic Hosts Cucurbit[n]urils in the Gas Phase

Characterization of intact protein structures in the gas phase using electrospray ionization combined with ion mobility mass spectrometry has become an important tool of research. However, the biophysical properties that govern the structures of protein ions in the gas phase remain to be understood. Here, we investigated the impact of host-guest complexation of ubiquitin (Ubq) with macrocyclic host molecules, cucurbit[n]urils (CB[n]s, n = 6, 7), on its structure in the gas phase. We found that CB[n] complexation induces the formation of compact Ubq ions. Both CB[6] and CB[7] exhibited similar effects despite differences in their binding properties in solution. In addition, CB[n] attachment prevented Ubq from unfolding by collisional activation. Based on the experimental results, we suggest that CB[n]s prevent unfolding of Ubq during transfer to the gas phase to promote the formation of compact protein ions. Furthermore, interaction with positively charged residues per se is suggested to be the most important factor for the host-guest complexation effect.

기체-마이크론폰 광음향 cell을 2개의 chamber와 연결관으로 구성된 Helmholtz resonator 형태로 설계, 제작하였다. 변조 주파수에 따른 탄소 검정(carbon black)분말 시료의 광음향 신호의 진폭과 위상 변화를 측정하였다. 측정된 주파수 특성은 다중 공진 현상이 일어나는 extended Helmholtz resonator모델에 근접함을 알 수 있었다. 공진 주파수는 입사 광원의 종류와 세기에 무관하였으나, 매질 기체가 공기 대신 헬륨 가스인 경우나 마이크로폰 부피가 줄어든 경우 주파수는 높아지는 방향으로 이동함을 알 수 있었다. A gas-microphone photoacoutic cell was designed constructed in the form of a Helmholtz resonator consisting of two chambers connected by a long narrow tube. Amplitude and phase angle of the photoacoutic signal from carbon black powder were measured as a function of chopping frequency. The occurence of multiple resonances can be interpreted quantitatively by the extended Helmholtz resonator model. The acoustic resonances, which are independent of light sources, are moved to higher frequencies when the cell is filled with helium gas insted of air or when the volume of microphone chamber is decreased.
중성자회절을 이용한 Zircaloy 의 섬유 및 압정집합조직 해석

For the analysis of the fiber-and sheet-type texture of materials with hexagonal crystal system, two computer programs, TXFIBH and TXSHTH, were developed based on Bunge's series expansion method. The pole figures measured on Zircaloy-4 rod and sheet samples by neutron diffraction were analyzed to obtain the crystal orientation distribution functions and theoretical direct and inverse pole figures. Analytical errors were studied in terms of numbers of input pole figure and degrees of series expansion. Based on ODF, some discussions were made to understand the distinctive features of observed textures.
