      • Effect of Antrodia camphorata polysaccharides on letrozole-induced polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) model rats

        To investigate the effect of ACP on letrozole-induced PCOS rats. All rats were divided into normal groups, PCOS group, metformin group and ACP group. The body weight (BW) was recorded every three days, and the final body weight as well as ovarian weight were recorded. Serum levels of TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C and E2, T, FSH and LH were measured by ELISA assay, and the LH/FSH ratio was calculated. The results showed that ACP decreased the BW and the ratio of ovarian to BW. Compared with the normal group, the serum levels of T, LH, LH/FSH, TG, TC, LDL-C increased, and the levels of FSH, E2, HDL-C decreased in PCOS group. ACP effectively improves the serum levels of FSH, LH/FSH, TG, TC, LDL-C and other related factors. The results of H&E staining of ovarian tissues showed that the ACP group showed different degrees of improvement in the reduced number of corpus luteum, thinning of granulosa cell layer, follicular capsular dilatation and follicular atresia. ACP not only reduces BW and the ratio of ovarian to BW, but also it can elevate the level of FSH and reduce LH/FSH, TG, TC and HDL-C levels. Furthermore, ACP can protect ovarian tissue to some extent.

      • Protective effect of centaureidin-3,5-O-biglucoside (C3G) on 5-fluorouracil(5-FU)-induced mucositis in BALB/c mice

        To explore the effect of C3G on intestinal mucosal injury in 5-FU induced BALB/c mice. Mice were randomly divided into normal, model and C3G groups. After the last administration, mice were anesthetized, and calculated the thymus and spleen indexes. The ileum was used to stain with H&E observation. Serum levels of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α were determined by ELISA kits. Compared with the normal group, the model group had diarrhea, body weight and thymus and spleen index decreased significantly, intestinal villus epithelial cells fell off, crypt structure was destroyed, and inflammatory cell infiltration was observed. The body weight, thymus and spleen indexes of the treatment group and the prevention group decreased less, and the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were significantly decreased, and the level of IL-10 was significantly increased relative to the model group. The intestinal villi structure was relatively complete, and a small amount of crypt structure was destroyed, with a small amount of inflammatory cell infiltration, which reduced the mucosal damage. The administration of C3G could protect intestinal mucosa from 5-FU-induced injury.

        품사 연구에 있어서의 ‘의미’의 역할 - 개별언어적 접근과 통언어적 접근 간의 차이를 중심으로 -

        This paper focused on the concept and role of “meaning” (or so called “semantic categories,” “semantic criteria,” etc.) in parts of speech studies. From this study, we find no significant difference between individual linguistical studies and cross-linguistical studies, since the“meaning” of words is understood in an abstractive and conceptual sense . However, since building a parts of speech system in individual linguistical discussions is to identify the grammatical characteristics of words, there is a limit to reflecting grammatical characteristics from “meaning” rather than from “form,” “function,” or “distribution.” On the other hand, it is difficult to apply the approach used in individual linguistical discussions to cross-linguistical discussions. In a cross-linguistic discussion, “meaning” can reflect the universality between languages. Therefore, we can use “meaning” to establish the correspondence between several languages. In this paper, the concept and role of “meaning” in parts of speech research was reorganized, and in particular, the problem of mixing the concept and role of “meaning” in individual linguistical and cross-linguistical discussions was presented and discussed . Hopefully, this will provide basic data for related future discussions.

        Amino acid, fatty acid, and carbohydrate metabolomic profiles with ginsenoside-induced insecticidal efficacy against Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee)

        Background: Previous studies have shown the insecticidal efficacy of ginsenosides. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the metabolic mechanism related to the inhibitory effect of panaxadiol saponins (PDSs) against the Asian corn borer Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee). Methods: Third instar larvae of O. furnacalis were fed normal diets with different concentrations of PDSs for 4 days. The consumption index, relative growth rate, approximate digestibility, and conversion of ingested and digested food were recorded. A targeted gas chromatographye-mass spectrometry assay was performed to detect the profiles of amino acids, fatty acids, and carbohydrates in larvae of O. furnacalis. In addition, the activity of detoxification-related enzymes was determined. Results and Conclusions: PDSs decreased the consumption index, relative growth rate, approximate digestibility, and conversion of ingested and digested food in the 3rd instar larvae of O. furnacalis in a dose-dependent manner. PDSs decreased 15 free amino acids, 16 free fatty acids, and 5 carbohydrates and increased the levels of palmitoleic acid, palmitic acid, and 9-octadecenoic acid in the 3rd instar larvae. The activity of detoxification-related enzymes, such as acetylcholinesterase, glutathione S-transferase, cytochrome P450, carboxylesterase, trehalase, acid phosphatase, and alkaline phosphatase, was reduced in a dose-dependent manner in the 3rd instar larvae exposed to PDSs. These data confirmed the inhibitory effect of PDSs against growth, food utilization, and detoxification in the 3rd instar larvae of O. furnacalis and the potential for using PDSs as an efficient tool for insect pest management for O. furnacalis larvae.

        현대 한국어 경어법에 대한 사회언어학적 고찰 : 중국어 및 일본어 경어법과의 비교를 통하여

        경어는 예(禮)를 매우 중요시하는 한국 사회, 그리고 한국과 거리가 가까운 중국 및 일본 사회에서 모두 중요한 언어 형식이다. 한국어 경어 연구에 있어 한 언어에만 초점을 두어 연구를 진행 하는 것도 중요하지만 다양한 언어 체계를 가진 언어들과의 대조ㆍ비교를 통해 논의하는 것이 한국어 경어법의 특성을 적절히 파악하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것이라 본다. 따라서 본고는 한국어 경어법을 다루는 데 중ㆍ일의 경어법과의 비교를 통해 논의하였다. 경어법은 표준화법의 제정이 어려울 만큼 세대별, 성별, 지위별 등 다양한 사회언어학적 변인에 의해 서로 다르게 적용되고 있다. 따라서 경어법에 대해서 사회언어학적인 접근은 반드시 행해져야 할 일이다. 본고는 한ㆍ중ㆍ일 3개 국어의 경어법에 관한 기존 개념 및 유형을 정리하여 비교분석하는 기반 아래, 주로 사회언어학적 측면에서 경어법을 검토하였다. 사회적 측면에서 보면, 인간관계는 ‘횡적관계’와 ‘종적관계’로 나눌 수 있다. ‘횡적관계’는 ‘친(親)’과 ‘소(疎)’, ‘내(內)’와 ‘외(外)’의 관계이며 ‘종적관계’는 ‘상(上)’과 ‘하(下)’의 관계를 가리킨다. 일반적으로 경어 표현 형식을 선택하는 데 횡적관계와 종적관계 모두 고려해야 하나 횡적관계를 보다 중요시하는 언어도 있는가 하면, 종적관계를 보다 중요시하는 언어도 있다. 따라서 사회언어학적 측면에서 경어를 분석하는 데 ‘절대경어’와 ‘상대경어’의 개념을 같이 도입할 필요가 있다. 절대경어의 사용 기준이 화제 인물을 손위로 생각하는지 손아래로 생각하는지에 의해 결정되는 것이다. 한편, 상대경어는 화제 인물과 화자와의 관계뿐만 아니라, 청자와 화제 인물, 화자와 청자, 또는 화자ㆍ청자ㆍ화제 인물의 삼자관계가 모두 연관되는 경어 형식이다. 본고의 분석을 통해 알 수 있듯이, 일본어는 대화 참여자 간의 횡적관계를 보다 중요시하는 상대경어의 성격을 더 강하게 띤다. 중국어는 일본어와 같이 횡적관계를 중요시하지만 그와 동시에 종적관계, 즉 상하관계도 중요시하여 이 두 가지 관계간의 경계가 모호하다. 이에 비해, 한국어는 횡적관계보다는 종적관계를 보다 월등히 중요시하는 절대경어의 성격을 띤다. 그렇다고 한국어가 상대경어의 성격을 띠지 않는 것은 아니며 단지 상대경어보다 절대경어의 특성을 더 강하게 나타낸다고 할 수 있다. The honorific expression is a very important language form in Korean and it is also exists in Chinese and Japanese languages, as netiquette is regarded as an essential element in the social lives of the two cultures. The Study on Honorific which focused on only one language is quite important. But by comparing Korean to other languages, we can grasp the property of Korean Honorific more properly. Thus, in this paper I compared Korean honorific with Chinese and Japanese. The honorific expressions are used in different ways according to different age, gender, status, etc. among the speaker, the hearer, and the subject of conversation. So studies on honorific need to be proceeded from the sociolinguistic standpoint. In this paper I first compared the concepts and types of honorifics in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese and then mainly focus on the sociolinguistical aspect. Seeing from social aspect, the human relation can be divided into 'horizontal relationship' and 'vertical relationship'. The horizontal relationship depends on the degree of intimacy relation, and the vertical relationship depends on the relation of status. Generally, when people use the honorific expressions, 'horizontal relationship' and 'vertical relationship' should be considered both. But some languages lay more stress on horizontal relationship, and some others lay more stress on vertical relationship. Here, I instituted the concept of 'absolute honorific' and 'relative honorific' to analysis how the honorifics reflect the social relationships between the speaker, the hearer, and the subject of conversation. By the analysis of this paper, we know that Japanese lays more emphasis on horizontal relationship between conversation participants. Chinese also focuses on horizontal relationship, but sometimes concentrates on vertical relationship, and the boundary between two relationships is ambiguous. On the other hand, Korean pays more attention to the vertical relationship. It doesn't mean that Korean conversation participants do not pay attention to horizontal relationships, it just means that the character of vertical one is more emphasizing in Korean language.

        GASEOUS EMISSIONS AND PARTICLE MICROSTRUCTURE CHARACTERISTICS OF PODE/DIESEL BLEND FUEL

        Polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers (PODE) has good application prospects as an alternative to diesel fuel with a great potential to achieve clean combustion on diesel engines. In current study, the effects of PODE/diesel blends with PODE volume fraction at 10 %, 20 % and 30 % on performance and emission characteristics are investigated on a common-rail diesel engine under different engine loads. The particle size distribution and microstructure characteristics of the combustion particles are also analized. Results show that the PODE/diesel blends have shorter ignition delay, higher in-cylinder maximum burst pressure and advanced heat release. The brake thermal efficiency increases slightly with the increment of PODE blending ratio. There is a simultaneous improvement in CO, HC and soot emissions when fueling blend fuels. A more obvious shifting tendency toward the direction of small particle size can be found in number concentration, mass density and mass cumulative distribution of particles with increment of PODE. The microstructure of the blend fuels combustion particles is mainly in the form of agglomerates. Compared with diesel fuel, combustion particles of blend fuels have bigger layer spacing and microcrystalline curvature as well as smaller crystallite size, also the box dimension of the particles and the degree of agglomeration increase.

        Plant derived cationic dye as an effective corrosion inhibitor for 7075 aluminum alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution

        The inhibition of the corrosion of 7075 aluminum alloy in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution by 5,6-dihydro-9,10-dimethoxybenzo[g]-1,3-benzodioxolo[5,6-a]quinolizinium (berberine) has been studied using electrochemicalimpedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization, scanning electrochemicalmicroscopy (SECM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Inhibition efficiency was found toincrease with increasing concentration of berberine. The adsorption of the berberine on the 7075aluminum alloy surface obeyed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The adsorbed film on 7075aluminum alloy surface containing inhibitor was confirmed by the SEM, and SECM. The results obtainedshowed that the berberine could serve as an effective inhibitor of the corrosion of 7075 aluminum alloyin 3.5% NaCl.

        Gingko biloba fruit extract as an eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor for J55 steel in CO2 saturated 3.5% NaCl solution

        The inhibition of the corrosion of J55 steel in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution saturated with CO2 by the fruit extract of Gingko biloba (GFE) has been studied using mass spectrometry (MS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization, contact angle measurements, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Inhibition efficiency was found to increase with increasing concentration of the extract. The adsorption of the extract on the J55 steel surface obeyed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The adsorbed film on J55 steel surface containing inhibitor was confirmed by the contact angle, and SEM results. The results obtained showed that the GFE could serve as an effective inhibitor of the corrosion of J55 steel in 3.5% NaCl saturated with CO2.

        The preparation of alginate–AgNPs composite fiber with green approach and its antibacterial activity

        Antibacterial alginate fibers containing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been prepared in this work. Firstly, AgNPs colloid solution was obtained employing alginate as stabilizing agent and glucose as reducing agent. Then, sodium alginate powder was directly added to the above solution and the resultant sodium alginate–AgNPs spinning dope was spun to prepare alginate–AgNPs composite fibers. The fibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and thermal gravimetric analysis (TG). Mechanical properties of the fibers were also measured. The antimicrobial properties were investigated by Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and the results indicated that the composite fibers showed strong antibacterial activity.
