        노래의 말하기 기능과 민요 전승의 방향 모색

        In Korea, the word for folk songs is minyo 民謠, which literally means 'the songs of the people.' As in many other countries, particularly in Korea the phenomenon of folk singing does not show a clear distinction between professional and amateur. Today, however, Korean folk songs would be divided into two kinds according to the singers : one is popular folk songs by professional singers which is commonly known as t'ongsok minyo 通俗民謠; and the other, local or regional folk songs by ordinary people known as hyangt'o minyo 鄕土民謠 or t'osok minyo 土俗民謠. The popular folk songs are known everywhere, to practically every one, and they are frequently recorded by professional singers, whereas the regional folk songs are felt to be specific to a limited geographical area and are sung by ordinary folk living there. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the function and transmission of Korean folk songs based on it's text. This paper deals with such topics as 1) Introduction, 2) The Function and Text of Minyo. 3) The Cultural Meaning of Minyo, 4) The Present State and Transmissions of Minyo, 5) Conclusion. On the basis of examining the text and function of minyo, it is concluded that the telling function of minyo text should be considered and encouraged in terms of the present socio-cultural context.

        A case of pulmonary tuberculosis associated with syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone in 39-year-old female is presented. Although proper treatment including the closed thoracotomy for her pneumthorax was preformed, generalized convulsion, mental deterioration and polyuria occurred. On laboratory examination, the hyponatremia in her serum and increased urinary excretion of sodium were noticed, accordingly the osmolality of urine was higher than that of plasmas. The syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone was diagnosed and treated with intravenovous hypertonic saline and water restriction for 35 days c satisfactory improvment.

      • Making the Steps Count: Adult Stair Use- Hindsight, Insight & Foresight

        The primary aim of the review is to present a balanced narrative of adult stair use. Healthy young and older adults can expect to reap multiple anthropometric, neuromuscular, physiological, and metabolic health benefits following adherence and accomplishment of stair use that is sustained over 2 to 12 weeks, at least 3 times a week, at a moderateto- vigorous intensity, either within exercise designs of continuous and sustained exercise, or within a timesaving, low volume, and high-intensity interval training set up. There are inherent risks of falls in stair use and participants should adhere to safety tips when navigating stairs in daily life as a form of commute or as intentional exercise. Additional steps for safety and inclusiveness to adult stair use exercise include customizing stair use to suit individual health, fitness, and the exercise context including those with special needs and medical conditions by working with medical practitioners.

        A driver's seat can be modeled with a suspension system of spring, mass and damper. To increase the capacity of anti-vibration, the natural frequency should be decreased as low as possible. In this paper, the method to decrease the natural frequency by the potential energy is introduced. In addition, the experiment is done on a small model to prove the theorem.

        INTERNAL CONFLICTS AND EXTERNAL CRISES : The Political Situation on Mainland China As Viewed from Taiwan

        The changes in Peking since early January 1976 have seemed to be dramatic. Chou En-jai died in January. Hua kuo-feng was suprisingly appointed first as acting premier, and then premier. The Tien An-men incident broke out on April 5. Teng hsiao-Ping fell down once again and lost all of his polotical power. Chu The deceased in July. And, finallt, Mao Tse-tung died on September 9. All the people around the world have been wondered. Why is Huo kua-feng? Where is the power struggle in Peking going? And What will be the impact of the internal changes on the Communist China's external relations? To all these puzzling questions, experts in China affairs all around the globe have made interpretations and predictions, but no one can give definite answers. This paper will deal with the points of view taken by the Chinese on Taiwan. Nonetheless, the author of this paper has no intention to stress that the Chinese experts on Taiwan are wiser than the foreigners to assess all the happenings on mainland China.

      • A method to improve protein subcellular localization prediction by integrating various biological data sources

        <P><B>Background</B></P><P>Protein subcellular localization is crucial information to elucidate protein functions. Owing to the need for large-scale genome analysis, computational method for efficiently predicting protein subcellular localization is highly required. Although many previous works have been done for this task, the problem is still challenging due to several reasons: the number of subcellular locations in practice is large; distribution of protein in locations is imbalanced, that is the number of protein in each location remarkably different; and there are many proteins located in multiple locations. Thus it is necessary to explore new features and appropriate classification methods to improve the prediction performance.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>In this paper we propose a new predicting method which combines two key ideas: 1) Information of neighbour proteins in a probabilistic gene network is integrated to enrich the prediction features. 2) Fuzzy k-NN, a classification method based on fuzzy set theory is applied to predict protein locating in multiple sites. Experiment was conducted on a dataset consisting of 22 locations from Budding yeast proteins and significant improvement was observed.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>Our results suggest that the neighbourhood information from functional gene networks is predictive to subcellular localization. The proposed method thus can be integrated and complementary to other available prediction methods.</P>

        Food Intake Behavior in Cancer Survivors in Comparison With Healthy General Population; From the Health Examination Center-based Cohort

        Background: This study aimed to investigate the food intake behavior of cancer survivors based on main sources of energy intake from different food groups in comparison with healthy individuals. Methods: Baseline survey data from the Health Examinee cohort, which recruited participants from 2014 to 2013 were applied. A total of 5,269 cancer survivors and 5,219 healthy subjects without comorbidities who were matched by age, sex, and enrollment center were included in the analysis. The proportion of energy intake for 17 food groups was devided into lower median and median or upper. OR and 95% CIs were determined to measure the difference of energy intake proportion in cancer survivors, five major types of cancer survivors versus healthy individuals. Results: Generally, the proportion of calories intake from sugars and sweets, meat and poultry, oils and fats, and beverage was lower in cancer survivors than in healthy individuals (OR = 0.83 [95% CI = 0.79-0.88], 0.75 [95% CI = 0.71-0.80], 0.84 [95% CI = 0.80-0.89], and 0.93 [95% CI = 0.88-0.99], respectively) with more prominently shown in breast, colon, and thyroid cancer individuals. In contrast, cancer survivors tended to intake calories from potatoes and starches, legume, seeds and nuts, vegetables, mushrooms, fruits, and seasonings more than healthy individuals (OR = 1.09 [95% CI = 1.03-1.16], 1.13 [95% CI = 1.06-1.19], 1.15 [95% CI = 1.09-1.22], 1.07 [95% CI = 1.01-1.13], 1.07 [95% CI = 1.02-1.14], 1.15 [95% CI = 1.08-1.21], and 1.17 [95% CI = 1.10-1.23], respectively) which were more prominent in gastric and breast cancer survivors. Conclusions: The dietary behavior measured by main sources of energy intake in cancer survivors was different from healthy individuals in terms of several food groups. Although there are nutrition guidelines for cancer survivors, because of the differences between Western population and Asian people in terms of food culture, the guidelines for balanced nutritious behavior should be established among Asian cancer survivors.         Dark current suppression of amorphous selenium based photosensors by the ZnO hole blocking layer

        To study the influence of defects in the hole blocking layer (HBL) on the dark current of amorphous selenium (a-Se) based photosensors, we prepared ZnO thin films by reactive sputter deposition (RSD) for the use as the HBL of the photosensors. The ZnO HBL layers prepared with different oxygen flow rates were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman scattering analysis and photoluminescence, indicating that the density of oxygen vacancies in the ZnO thin films is significantly affected by the oxygen flow rate. The deep level transient spectroscopy measurement reveals two hole trap levels present in the RSD deposited ZnO thin films; one is at 0.94 eV and the other at 0.24 eV above the valence band edge. The electrical performance of the a-Se photosensor is largely influenced by the amount of oxygen vacancies in the ZnO thin film. The a-Se photosensor with the ZnO HBL of the most oxygen vacancies has the lowest dark current and demonstrates the highest breakdown field.

        Photorealistic Ray-traced Visualization Approach for the Interactive Biomimetic Design of Insect Compound Eyes

        In this study, we propose a biomimetic optical structure design methodology for investigating microoptical mechanisms associated with the compound eyes of insects. With these compound eyes, insects can respond fast while maintaining a wide field of view. Also, considerable research attention has been focused on the insect compound eyes to utilize these benefits. However, their nano micro-structures are complex and challenging to demonstrate in real applications. An effectively integrated design methodology is required considering the manufacturing difficulty. We show that photorealistic ray-traced visualization is an effective method for designing the biomimetic of a micro-compound eye of an insect. We analyze the image formation mechanism and create a three-dimensional computer-aided design model. Then, a ray-trace visualization is applied to observe the optical image formation. Finally, the segmented images are stitched together to generate an image with a wide-angle; the image is assessed for quality. The high structural similarity index (SSIM) value (approximately 0.84 to 0.89) of the stitched image proves that the proposed MATLAB-based image stitching algorithm performs effectively and comparably to the commercial software. The results may be employed for the understanding, researching, and design of advanced optical systems based on biological eyes and for other industrial applications.
