Design and Implementation of Geo-Social Information based Personalized Warning Notification System

In case of a emergency situation or a natural disaster, a warning notification system is an essential tool to notify at-risk people in advance and provide them useful information to survive the event. Although some systems have been proposed such as emergency alert system using android, SMS, or P2P overlay network, these works mainly focus on a reliable message distribution methods. In this paper, we proposed a novel design and implementation of a personalized warning notification system to help inform not only the at-risk people but also their family and friends about the coming disaster as well as escape plan and survival information. The system consists of three main modules: the user selection module, the knowledge based message generator, and message distribution modules. The user selection module collects the list of people involved in the event and sorts them based on their level of involvement (their location, working position and social relationships). The knowledge based message generator provides each person with a personalized message that is concise and contains only the necessary information for the particular person based on their working position and their involvement in the event. The message distribution module will then find a best path for sending the personalized messages based on trustiness of locations since network failures may exist in a disaster event. Additionally, the system also have a comprehensive database and an interactive web interface for both user and system administrator. For evaluation, the system was implemented and demonstrated successfully with a building on fire scenario.
]ANET 환경에서의 Low-overhead 를 위한 Lookup 기법

This paper proposes a novel cluster-based lookup service in mobile ad hoc networks. By applying a selfadaptive multi-hop clustering, we avoid the empty region problem of grid system and omit the need of GPS device. The novelty of the proposed scheme is in its exploitation of hashing function for location querying to achieve low communication overhead. By varying different simulation parameters, we show that the proposed scheme is scalable and adaptive to many networks scenarios. Experiment results demonstrate that our scheme reduces the communication overhead significantly.
Concatenated coding and hybrid automatic repeat request for wiretap channels

In this study, the authors propose an equivocation scheme for wiretap channels, which is composed of bit-extension mapping, coset coding and hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ). The inner bit-extension code and outer coset code are used for equivocation of a wiretapper channel, whereas the HARQ scheme is to mitigate noisy errors in a main legitimate channel. These concatenated codes and HARQ are effective and practical for various channel conditions. The average equivocation and the probability of causing imperfect secrecy are analysed for finite codeword lengths. As a function of channel conditions, they investigate the block error rate at the legitimate receiver and the information leakage to the wiretapper. From simulation results, they further determine the minimum requirements of code design for some target values of the residual' block error rate and information leakage at maximum retransmission.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Host immune response remains an obstacle in cell-replacement therapy for treating type I diabetes. Long-term systemic immunosuppression results in suboptimal efficacy and adverse reactions. Thus, “cell-particle hybrids” of pancreatic islets and tissue-adhesive, polydopamine-coated, FK506-loaded biodegradable microspheres (PD-FK506-MS) were developed to locally modulate the immune response at the transplantation site. Coating of FK506-MS with PD enabled the rapid formation of stable cell-particle hybrids without significant changes in islet viability and functionality. Extremely low quantities of FK506 (approximately 600 ng per recipient) sustainably released from cell-particle hybrids effectively prolonged survival of xenogeneic islet graft. Interestingly, FK506 exhibited extended bioavailability in the grafts but was undetectable in systemic circulation and other tissues. Moreover, mRNA expression of inflammatory cytokines was significantly inhibited in the PD-FK506-MS-containing grafts but not in lymphoid organs. This study presents a promising platform that facilitates the translation of local immunomodulation towards an effective strategy with improved safety profiles for treating type I diabetes.</P>
미래 네트워크 제공을 위한 기계 학습 기반 스마트 서비스 추상화 계층 설계

Recently, SDN and NFV technology have been developed actively and provide enormous flexibility of network provisioning. The future network services would generally involve many different types of services such as hologram games, social network live streaming videos and cloud-computing services, which have dynamic service requirements. To provision networks for future services dynamically and efficiently, SDN/NFV orchestrators must clearly understand the service requirements. Currently, network provisioning relies heavily on QoS parameters such as bandwidth, delay, jitter and throughput, and those parameters are necessary to describe the network requirements of a service. However it is often difficult for users to understand and use them proficiently. Therefore, in order to maintain interoperability and homogeneity, it is required to have a service abstraction layer between users and orchestrators. The service abstraction layer analyzes ambiguous user’s requirements for the desired services, and this layer generates corresponding refined services requirements. In this paper, we present our initial effort to design a Smart Service Abstraction Layer (SmSAL) for future network architecture, which takes advantage of machine learning method to analyze ambiguous and abstracted user-friendly input parameters and generate corresponding network parameters of the desired service for better network provisioning. As an initial proof-of-concept implementation for providing viability of the proposed idea, we implemented SmSAL with a decision tree model created by learning process with previous service requests in order to generate network parameters related to various audio and video services, and showed that the parameters are generated successfully.
Design of Fuzzy-PID Controller for Path Tracking of Mobile Robot with Differential Drive

In this paper, a design of a fuzzy-PID controller for path tracking of a mobile robot with differential drive is proposed. The fuzzy-PID controller consists of a PID controller and a fuzzy controller with two inputs and three outputs. When the system response has the error and the error rate, the fuzzy controller can tune the parameters of the PID controller. The model based on Lagrange dynamic approach for a robot with differential drive is described. The fuzzy-PID controller and the classical PID controller are compared by simulation. The path tracking of a mobile robot with differential drive was tested using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show that the fuzzy-PID controller has a better performance than the classical PID controller. The proposed controller has better convergence rate in comparison with the classical PID controller for a mobile robot with any arbitrary initial state. It has the advantages of rapid respond, high stability, tracking accuracy and good anti-interference, so the fuzzy-PID controller is the appropriate choice for path tracking control of mobile robots with differential drive.
An Autonomous Control of Fuzzy-PD Controller for Quadcopter

The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) modeling and control have been recently actively studied. A quadcopter has nonlinear characteristics to which classical control methods are not adequate for its stabilization control. The nonlinearity of fuzzy control is a good characteristic suitable for such quadcopter system control. This paper presents a model of the quadcopter which is expressed with Newton-Euler equations. It also describes both a classical PID controller and a fuzzy system that adjusts the PD controller gains, for stabilizing a quadcopter and controlling its attitude. It is quite a new trial to apply fuzzy control to quadcopter control although there have been various fuzzy control applications in the literature. The designed system has been tested and analyzed in terms of their performance. The experiments showed that the Fuzzy-PD controller outperforms the classical PD control
