The first edition of ‘A Standardized Pathology Report for Gastric Cancer’ was initiated by the Gastrointestinal Pathology Study Group of the Korean Society of Pathologists and published 17 years ago. Since then, significant advances have been made in the pathologic diagnosis, molecular genetics, and management of gastric cancer (GC). To reflect those changes, a committee for publishing a second edition of the report was formed within the Gastrointestinal Pathology Study Group of the Korean Society of Pathologists. This second edition consists of two parts: standard data elements and conditional data elements. The standard data elements contain the basic pathologic findings and items necessary to predict the prognosis of GC patients, and they are adequate for routine surgical pathology service. Other diagnostic and prognostic factors relevant to adjuvant therapy, including molecular biomarkers, are classified as conditional data elements to allow each pathologist to selectively choose items appropriate to the environment in their institution. We trust that the standardized pathology report will be helpful for GC diagnosis and facilitate large-scale multidisciplinary collaborative studies.
High-Performance of 70 nm T-Gate InGaAs/InAlAs Metamorphic HEMTs on GaAs Substrate

We present a technology to fabricate 70-nm-gate-length InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs metamorphic high electron mobility transistors (MHEMTs). This technology uses a ZEP520/P(MMA-MAA)/PMMA tri-layer and double exposure with 50-kV electron-beam lithography. The fabricated 70-nm MHEMTs with a 70-m unit gate width and two ngers were characterized through DC, RF, and noise measurements. The maximum drain current density and extrinsic transconductance (gm) are 400 mA/mm and 1.02 S/mm, respectively. From the RF measurements, we obtained a current gain cutoff frequency (ft) of 320 GHz and a maximum oscillation frequency (fmax) of 430 GHz. The noise gure was less than 1.5 dB across the measured frequency range of 56 to 60 GHz.

본 연구는 대구-포항지역을 대상으로 주거지역, 전원지역 및 공업지역에서 측정된 대기중 부유분진의 농도에 영향을 미치는 각종 분진발생원의 기여도를 정량화하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 다변량해석법의 일환인 절대주성분분석법과 단계식 중회귀분석법을 적용하여 분진발생원을 규명하고 각 발생원별농도기여도를 추정하였다. 대구-포항지역에서 추정된 분진발생원중 주요한 원인은 토사(혹은 도로먼지)의 재비산, 연료연소, 자동차배기가스 및 대기중 이차생성입자들로 나타났으며 이들의 상대적 기여도는 측정지점별로 특징적인 상황을 대변하는 것으로 평가되었다. 본 연구의 결과 분진의 각 발생원별 농도기여도를 보다 정확히 추정하기 위해서는 무엇보다 각 발생원별 분진배출특성에 관한 상세한 자료의 확보가 중요한 과제임을 확인할 수 있었다. The purpose of this study is to quantitatively estimate the source contributions to the atmospheric suspended particulate matter(SPM) measured in urban residential, suburban, and industrial sites in Taegu-Pohang area. In this work, the techniques of principal component analysis(PCA) and stepwise multiple regression were employed to identify and quantify the major source classes influencing the ambient SPM. The mass contributions of the different source classes were estimated by the calculation of absolute principal component scores(APCS), and the subsequent stepwise regression of the SPM concentrations on the APCS. The results indicated that major source classes of ambient SPM in Taegu-Pohang area are soil resuspension, fuel combustion, automotive emissions, and secondary aerosols. It is further emphasized that the compilation of an extensive inventory of such sources is an essential task, so that a more detailed apportionment of their contributions to the SPM can be made in Korea.

To study the influence of the rotifer Brachionus calyciflorus on harmful algal bloom suppression, we focused on assessing the rotifer's abilities using several prey species : Microcystis aeruginosa, Synechocystis sp., Chlorella vulgaris and Coelastrum sp. of the warm-weather species and the cold-weather centric diatom Stephanodiscus hantzchii. Grazing effects and growth rates of rotifers B. calyciflorus were 94.5% and $1.29d^{-1}$, respectively, for Synechocystis sp., 87.4% and $0.60d^{-1}$, respectively, for M. aeruginosa, 95.2% and $0.65d^{-1}$, respectively, for C. $vulgaris^{TM}$, 78.6% and $0.45d^{-1}$, respectively, for C. vulgaris UTEX., 86.5% and $0.99d^{-1}$, respectively, for Coelastrum sp., and 82.6% and $0.40d^{-1}$, respectively, for S. hantzchii. Of these, although the growth of Synechocystis and Coelastrum was effectively suppressed by rotifer grazing, efficient suppression effects on Stephanodiscus blooms were unexpected. The present study revealed that reproduction of B. calyciflorus was greatly influenced by its food types in the initial stages and the efficiencies of bio-agents as sole food sources vary depending on the target algae and the agent.
Crystallographic and Magnetic Properties of Co_x(Cu_0.5Fe_0.5)_1-xCr_2S_4

x선 및 뫼스바우어 측정법을 사용하여 혼성 결정계열 Co(Cu_0.5Fe_0.5)_1-xCr_2S_4를 연구해본 결과. 결정구조는 입방스피넬구조를 갖고 있으며 격자상수는 Vegard의 법칙을 만족하고 있었다. 이성질체이동치로부터 철이온의 전하상태가 +3가 상태임을 알았다. 또한 전기사중극자 분열의 소멸로부터 철이온이 사면체자리를 차지하고 있음을 알았다. 특기할점은 80K에서 측정한 모든 뫼스바우어양들의 구성성분의 변화에 대해서 불변이라는 것이다. 이현상은 철이온 주변원자의 특이한 배치상태를 토대로 하여 설명할 수가 있다. Neel온도는 Co농도증가와 더불어 급속히 감소하였는데 이는 Co^2+-S-Cr^3+ 초교환 상호작용이 Fe^3+-S-Cr^3+ 초교환 상호작용에 비하여 상당히 약함을 의미한다. The mixed series Co_x(Cu_0.5)_(1-x)Cr_2S_4 has been studied using x-ray Mossbauer techniques. The crystal structure is found to be cubic spinel. and the lattice parameter a_0satisfies Vegard's law. The isomer shifts indicate that Fe ions are ferric and the absence of quadrupole splitting suggests the iron ions occupy. only tetrahedral sites. It is notable the all the Mossbauer Parameters at 80 K are independent of the com-position. This has been explained in terms of local atomic arrangements. The Neel temperature decreases rapidly with increasing cobalt concentration. suggesting that the superexchange interaction for the Co^2+-S-Cr^3+ link is much weaker than that for the Fe^3+-S-Cr^3+ link.
