        한의원의 진단 및 치료베드수와 시설규모의 상관성에 관한 연구

        The number of clinics for Oriental Medicine is increasing sharply in Korea after the inception of National Health Insurance System in 1987. However there have been many troubles in making efficient plans for oriental medical facilities because of the lack of proper guidelines related to the design of them. Concerning this situation, Simple Linear Regression Model between the area of Oriental Clinic and the number of diagnostic & treatment(D&T) beds has been developed. With the help of this model, the area of Oriental Clinic can be calculated quantitatively on the basis of the number of D&T beds and vice versa. Both the client(doctor) and designer of the Oriental Clinic can use this model for the estimation of the area and remodeling budget. Microsoft Excel Program has been used for the statistical analysis such as regression analysis, analysis of variance, scatter plot, analysis of Studentized residual, contrast of regression model and so on. 72 architectural drawings of Oriental Clinic located in Seoul, Gyunggi Province and Inchon have been chosen for the analysis. 14 data among 86 ones have been excluded from the final data set because they are regarded as outliers.

        상악골과 비사골동에 이환된 백악질 골화성 섬유종(cemento-ssifying fibroma)의 치험례

        The cemento-ossifying fibroma is a benign fibro-osseous tumor that may behave in an aggressive pattern. Although found predominantly in the mandible, most of these unusual tumors may arise in the maxilla and paranasal sinuses. Especially these lesion in the maxilla and sinuses behave more aggressively and are more prone to recur compared to mandibular counterparts. Therefore, more radical approach may be recommended than expectant observation or curettage in the initial management of this neoplasm. This is a case report of cemento-ossifying fibroma extended to maxillary sinus and naso-ethmoidal area treated by wide surgical excision after repeated conservative treatments.

        노인전문요양시설의 거주단위 모형개발에 관한 연구

        With its rapid modernization and unparalleled speed of aging, South Korea faces the need for dramatic increase in its supply of nursing homes. Among the spacial components of nursing homes, residential units are considered as an essential part because the older person in nursing homes usually spend most of their time in residential units and the nursing homes are mainly composed of various residential units. It is necessary, therefore, to prepare a guideline for the plan of residential units in order to design the healthy and efficient nursing homes. This paper has first identified the concept of residential unit and analyzed 66 cases in the 62 nursing homes from 4 countries. And 4 nursing homes in Korea have been surveyed for the in-depth study. On the basis of this analysis, architectural prototypes of residential units have been proposed and the architectural characteristics of them have been compared analytically.

        무균돼지 사육시설의 동선계획에 관한 연구

        At the moment, a lot of interest in the research on Gnotobiotic Pigs are increasing in order to produce alternative human organs. So, it is very important to design and build proper housing facilities for Germ Free Pigs. Among the design issues related to Gnotobiotic Pigs' farms, circulation system takes a high position because it carries an important role in keeping the pig's housing environment aseptic. Considering those, this study aims to propose the guidelines for the design of circulation system in Germ Free Pig's facilities. The results of this study are as follows. At first, functional areas of Germ Free Pigs' facilities have been divided into three categories according to the clean level; aseptic area, semi-aseptic area, and non-aseptic area. Secondly, the basic principles of circulation system have been proposed. Finally, circulation system of Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility has been explored as a form of diagram according to the circulating subjects. These include human circulation, pig's circulation, and goods' circulation. This study has some limitations in that it is transcendent and lacks empirical evidence. Despite of some weaknesses, it is expected to give some useful guidelines for the design of circulation system in Germ Free Pigs' facilities.

        A Study on DNA Sequences and Mutation of Integrase Region of Korean-type Bovine Leukemia Virus (BLV) pol Gene

        Bovine leukemia virus (BLV) is a causative agent for lymphoma disease in cattle including cows worldwide. BLV shares similar virion structure and characteristics with other retroviruses. The pol gene of the BLV genome produced reverse transcriptase (RT) and integrase (IN) for important roles for BLV genome integration into host cell chromosomes that is known to be coded in the 3' side of the BLV pol gene (one third portion). In this study, we have sequenced 978 bp in the 3'side of the BLV pol gene from BLV 10C3 in order to determine the BLV IN region of it. And we compared it to the nucleotide sequences of an Australian BLV isolate. As a result, nucleotide sequences of the IN region of the Korean-type BLV pol gene were mutated at a rate of 3.7%. We can confirm that the typical mutations are such as Arg (AGG) → Lys(AAG), Thr (ACG) → Met (ATG), Ile (ATT) → Val (GTT), Asn (ACC) → His (CAC), Phe (TTT) → Leu (TTG) and Asn (ACC) → Asp (GAC). From the analysis of the sequencing data, we were able to determine the zinc-finger-like "HHCC" motif in the amino terminus of BLV IN, that was H-X_(3)-H-X_(25)-C-X_(2)-C. It was also found the DD35E motif in the IN catalytic domain as D-X_(56)-D-X_(35)-E. It fits very well to the consensus sequences of retroviral IN as well as HHCC motif.

        무균돼지 사육시설 계획을 위한 사례연구 : 공간구성 및 동선계획을 중심으로

        According to the increase of demand for human organs such as kidney, heart, pancreas, joint, and cornea for therapeutic transplantation, the production of alternative organs based on Gnotobiotic Pigs gains a lot of concerns all over the world. However, it is not common to design and build Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility, and there are only a few those facilities and planning principles for them. Considering the situation above, this paper tries to develop planning guidelines for space organization and circulation system of standardized Germ Free Pig's facility on the bases of case analysis. The results of this study are as follows. At first, four swine farms including a Gntobiotic Pig's facility has been analysed from the point of space organization and circulation system. Secondly, the space zoning of Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility has been proposed into 5 groups : pigs' area, adminstration area, operating room and laboratory, service area, and mechanical area. Space components of each group have been presented also. Finally, circulation system of Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility has been explored from a operational point of view. This, also, includes human circulation, pig's circulation, and goods' circulation. This study has some limitations because it does not consider the SOPs(standard operational policies) of that facility to the fullest measure and does not suggest space area of each part, either. Despite of some weaknesses, it is expected that this study can give some useful guidelines for the design and planning of Germ Free Pigs' facilities.

        노인요양시설의 적정 침실 면적에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to suggest optimum size of residents' bedrooms in nursing homes. Bedroom is an essential part of nursing homes because nursing home residents spend most of their times in bedrooms and occupy the largest part of facility area. Therefore it is necessary to set an adequate standard related to resident room area in nursing facilities, which have a great effect on planning longterm care facilities for the elderly. The body dimensions of elderly people and care givers have been collected from the previous study. Based on the body dimensions data, the behaviors of elderly as well as care givers have been analysed. The minimum areas-exclusive of toilets, closets, vestibules and so on - have been proposed from the results of the behavior analysis.

        해마 theta리듬과 pyramidal neuron의 세포내 특성과의 상관관계

        Eledctrophysiological phenomena of pyramidal cells in the CAI area of the dorsal hippocampus were recorded from and filled with neurobiotin in anesthetized rats. The electropharmacological properties of membrane as well as the cellular-synaptic generation of rhythmic slow activity (theta)were examined. The intracellular response characteristics of these pyramidal cells were distinctly different from responses of inteneurons. Pyramidal cells had a high resting membrane potential, a low input resistance, and a large amplitude action potential. A afterhyperpolarization was followed a single action potential. Most of pyramidal cells did not display a spontaneous firing. Pyramidal cells displayed weak inward rectification and anodal break excitation. The slope of the frequency-current relation was 53.4 Hz/nA for the first interspike interval and 15.9 Hz/nA for the last intervals, suggesting the presence of spike frequency adaptation. Neurobiotin-filled neurons showed pyramidal morphology. Cells were generally bipolar dendritc processes ramifying in stratum lacunosum-moleculare, radiatum, and oriens. Commissural stimulation discharged pyramidal cells, followed by excitatory and inhibitory postsynaptic potentials (EPSPs and IPSPs). The frequency of theat-related membrane potential oscillation was voltage-independent in pyramidal neurons. At strong depolarization levels (less than 30 mV) pyramidal cells emitted sodium spike oscillation, phase-locked to theta. The observations provide direct evidence that theta-related rhythmic hyperpolarization of principal cells is brought by the rhythmically discharging interneurons. Furthermore, the findings in which interneurons were also paced by rhythmic inhibitory postsynaptic potentials during theta suggest that they were periodically hyperpolarized by their GABAergic septal afferents.
