        배 농가의 경영효율성 분석 : 비모수적 접근방법에 의한 사례연구 A case study using non-parametric method

        The objective of this study was to compare the farm efficiency of members of cooperative firms with that of non-members in Korea. Data were collected from 27 farms members of three cooperatives and 13 non-member farms, based on the managerial achievements of 1999. For the analysis, the data were divided into three different farming types: type I and Ⅱ of member farms and non-member farms. Economic analysis were implemented using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis). Major findings was as follows. Total average technology efficiency was 0.782, which implies that there still remains 21.8% of improvement possibility. Among the time types, type I showed the highest technology efficiency of 0.9055, while " 11 and non-member farms showed 0.7670 and 0.7171, respectively. This means that these farms have relatively high potential improved. Also, comparing technology efficiency by dividing into pure technology and scale efficiency, all type of the farms exhibit a higher pure technology efficiency compared to scale efficiency. Therefore, to improve current technology efficiency, farms need to focus more on pure technology efficiency improvement. Meanwhile, profit analysis based on farm size indicate that most of the farms demonstrated the increasing-return-to-scale, which means it is necessary to extend the farm size to improve technical efficiency. Type I member farms achieve higher profit and efficiency than other two types and relatively higher producer prices through introducing cooperative sorting, grading and packing. Also, these labor saving technologies increased farm size.

      • 소아 야뇨증에 대한 임상적 고찰

        Objectives: The aim of this study was to describe the clinical characteristics of enuretic children and to evaluate the efficacy of treatments. Methods: Our study subjects enrolled were 52 children with nocturnal enuresis, who visited outpatient clinic of pediatrics in Seoul Paik Hospital and Ilsan Paik Hospital, during the period from October 1998 to August 2004. The data of gender, age, family history, symptom, clinical type of enuresis and drug therapy were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results: The male : female ratio was 2.25 : 1. The mean age at diagnosis was 6.8 years with an age range from 4.3 years to 12.5 years. Fourty five cases(86.5%) were diagnosed as primary enuresis and 7 cases(13.5%) were diagnosed as secondary enuresis. A family history of enuresis was noted in 5 cases(9.6%) including 4 cases with parental enuresis history. The accompanying urinary symptoms were urgency(11.5%), frequency (7.7%), and dysuria(2.0%). Conclusion: We found frequent occurrences of enuresis in boys and primary type and an occasional association with a family history of enuresis. The two main treatment modalities were behavior control with an alarm system and drug therapy with imipramine, desmopressin, or oxybutynin. We recommend continuous drug medications to control nocturnal enuresis along with encouragement.

      • 미생물 포괄 고정화방식을 이용한 수산물 가공공장 폐수처리

        Feasibility of simultaneous removal of organic and nitrogen is evaluated as applying microbial entrapping method to treat fish processing wastewater. Treatability test is conducted immobilizing activated sludge from municipal sewage treatment plant to gel matrix made of cellulose triacetate. Stable operation can be possible when applying organic and nitrogen loading rate increasingly to wastewater treatment system composed of anoxic and oxic tank. Organic loading rate and nitrogen loading rate are applied 0.65-1.72kg COD/㎥/d and 0.119-0.317kg T-N/㎥/d, respectively. In case of wastewater from fish processing plant used in this study, it is evaluated that 0.3kg T- N/㎥/d is upper limit of applicable space loading rate because effluent T-N concentration is exceed 60mg/L, legal effluent dishargeable limit of T-N concentration in Korea, when space loading rate is exceed 0.3kg T-N/㎥/d. It is evaluated that nitrification of system is performed efficiently regardless fo variation of applied loading rate because removal efficiency of NH_(4)^(+)-N is relatively constant when the applied NH_(4)^(+)-N loading rate is increased gradually, while decrease of T-N removal efficiency is apparent when the applied loading rate is increased gradually. Nitrate removal efficiency in this study is varied from 98.62% to 99.51% depending on applied loading rate, while nitrification efficiency of oxic reactor is varied from 94.0% to 96.9%. It is showed that COD removal efficiency is varied from 94.2% to 96.6% and T-N removal efficiency is varied from 73.4% to 83.4% depending on loading rate applied in this study.

      • Association study of polymorphisms in interferon-γ receptor genes with the risk of pulmonary tuberculosis

        <P>Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by mycobacterium, which most commonly affects the lungs. The adaptive immune response in Mycobacterium tuberculosis is predominantly mediated by the interferon-γ (IFN-γ) signaling pathway, which is regulated by IFN-γ receptors (IFNGR). IFN-γ activates the transcription of a number of genes that are important in immune responses, thus the appropriate function of IFNGR appears to be important in host defense against mycobacteria. In the present study, 22 genetic variants in IFNGR1 and IFNGR2 were genotyped in 673 patients and 592 normal controls to investigate the association between IFNGR1 and IFNGR2 polymorphisms and the risk of TB. Statistical analyses revealed that four genetic variants in IFNGR1, rs9376269, rs9376268, rs9376267 and rs56251346 were marginally associated with the risk of TB (P = 0.02-0.04), while other single nucleotide polymorphisms in IFNGR1 and IFNGR2 did not exhibit any associations. However, the significance of the four genetic variants rs9376269, rs9376268, rs9376267 and rs56251346 was eliminated following a multiple testing correction of the data (P>0.05). The present results revealed that certain genetic variants in IFNGR genes may be associated with TB development, which may be useful preliminary data for future investigation.</P>

        Differentially expressed proteins in the liver of Gulo-/- mice following treatments with Helicobacter pylori and diethylnitrosamine

        Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is an essential nutrient of most living tissues. We established a strain of Gulo-/- mice with known deficiency, in which vitamin C intake can be controlled by diet, like humans, and investigated the differentially expressed proteins following treatments with Helicobacter pylori and diethylnitrosamine (DENA) in the liver of Gulo-/- mice using a proteomic approach. Expression of p53, 14-3-3ε and 14-3-3δ in Gulo-/- mice liver tissue was analyzed by immunohistochemistry. 2-DE maps constructed from Gulo-/- mice liver and differentially expressed proteins in liver tissue were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF/MS). In Gulo-/- mice after H. Pylori infection, followed by treatment with DENA, no differences in p53, 14-3-3ε and 14-3-3δ were observed by immunohistochemistry. Proteome analyses using MALDI-TOF/MS resulted in successful identification of 12 proteins (nine proteins were up-regulated and three were down-regulated). Specifically, peroxiredoxin-6 and Alpha-1-antitrypsin 1-4 were up-regulated in liver after H. Pylori infection followed by treatment with DENA. These results indicated that oral supplementation with vitamin C led to rescue of Gulo-/- mice from vitamin deficiency, and protected the liver from H.pylori infection and/or DENA effect, and vitamin C also protected the liver against oxidative stress

        The Effects of Service Recovery on Repeat Patronage

        The objectives of the study is to: (a) identify and rate critical incidents of service failures: (b) determine what kind of service recovery efforts will significantly affect the resolution of a service failure: and (c) determine the significant effects of resolution levels on consumer repeat patronage. The service recovery efforts were related to non-monetary dimensions of employee service behavior and proactive service staff, and monetary incentives. Employee service behavior was found to have the most significant effect on the complete resolution, followed by monetary incentives, and proactive service staff. The manager should provide mentoring, training, communication role-playing scenarios, and empowerment opportunities, which allows the employee to be effective in providing an equitable service failure resolution. Lastly, only complete resolution results in repeat patronage; while partial resolution and unresolved service failures served as a deterrent to the guests return patronage. Therefore, management and staff should do their best to achieve complete resolution to maximize guest repeat patronage.

        시설 과채류의 생육진단, 품질 예측 등 데이터 기반 정밀농업은 비파괴 및 파괴 생육조사에서 시작되며 이러한 데이터는 향후 전개될 4차산업혁명의 농업기술에 요구되고 있다. 네트멜론의 경우 품질을 결정하는 생육지표는 당도, 과육두께, 과중, 네트발현 등으로 구성되지만 저울, 당도계를 사용하여 측정하는 당도, 과중과 달리 네트발현의 경우 대부분 관능평가로 선별자에 따라 주관적인 기준이 적용되어 선별작업의 일관성이 저하 될 수 있다. 따라서 육안으로 보고 판단하는 생육 및 품질에 영향을 미치는 요인들의 데이터화가 필요하다. 본 시험에서는 멜론(Cucumis melo L.)의 RGB 이미지 데이터를 기반으로 네트의 밀도, 색깔을 계측하여 외관품질 기준을 객관적인 수치로 나타내는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 시험에 사용된 멜론은 색깔 분류를 위해 빛의 조건이 균일한 LED 스튜디오에서 스마트폰으로 촬영된 얼스계멜론 ‘모미지’(가나종묘)로 진행하였으며 네트 계측은 OpenCV 기반 Gray, Gaussian, Morphology 3가지의 이미지 처리 필터를 통해 얻은 엣지를 추출하여 단위면적당 네트의 균일도를 계측하였다. 네트의 밀도와 색깔은 이진화 필터를 적용하여 단위면적당 네트와 네트를 제외한 과피의 비율 및 명암(Brightness)값을 통해 계측하였다. 프로그램의 구성은 촬영된 이미지를 불러오는 업로드부, 고정 단위면적 설정을 위한 좌표 입력부, 이진화 이미지 분류 오차를 줄이기 위한 임계값 설정부, 결과 데이터 Excel 저장부로 구성하였으며 처리된 결과 데이터는 결괏값, 원본 이미지와 함께 각 필터가 적용된 이미지가 나타나게 하였다. 사용자는 각 이미지를 보고 처리결과를 확인할 수 있으며 수정이 필요한 경우 임계값을 조절할 수 있다. 이러한 결과로 멜론의 외관품질을 결정하는 요소 중 하나인 네트를 객관적인 기준으로 측정할 수 있다.

        Can We Skip Intraoperative Evaluation of Sentinel Lymph Nodes? Nomogram Predicting Involvement of Three or More Axillary Lymph Nodes before Breast Cancer Surgery

        <P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>The American College of Surgeons Oncology Group Z0011 trial reported that complete dissection of axillary lymph nodes (ALNs) may not be warranted in women with clinical T1-T2 tumors and one or two involved ALNs who were undergoing lumpectomy plus radiation followed by systemic therapy. The present study was conducted to identify preoperative imaging predictors of ≥ 3 ALNs.</P><P><B>Materials and Methods</B></P><P>The training set consisted of 1,917 patients with clinical T1-T2 and node negative invasive breast cancer. Factors associated with ≥ 3 involved ALNs were evaluated by logistic regression analysis. The validation set consisted of 378 independent patients. The nomogram was applied prospectively to 512 patients who met the Z0011 criteria.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>Of the 1,917 patients, 204 (10.6%) had ≥ 3 positive nodes. Multivariate analysis showed that involvement of ≥ 3 nodes was significantly associated with ultrasonographic and chest computed tomography findings of suspicious ALNs (p < 0.001 each). These two imaging criteria, plus patient age, were used to develop a nomogram calculating the probability of involvement of ≥ 3 ALNs. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve of the nomogram were 0.852 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.820 to 0.883) for the training set and 0.896 (95% CI, 0.836 to 0.957) for the validation set. Prospective application of the nomogram showed that 60 of 512 patients (11.7%) had scores above the cut-off. Application of the nomogram reduced operation time and cost, with a very low re-operation rate (1.6%).</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>Patients likely to have ≥ 3 positive ALNs could be identified by preoperative imaging. The nomogram was helpful in selective intraoperative examination of sentinel lymph nodes.</P>
