Predatory efficacy of Orius strigicollis (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae) against Tetranychus urticae (Acarina: Tetranychidae) on strawberry

In this study, the predatory efficacy of Orius strigicollis (Poppius), a predacious flower bug, against the twospotted spider mite (TSSM), Tetranychus urticae Koch, on strawberry (Fragaria ananassa) was investigated. Our results showed that release of 2, 4, 6, and 12 neonates of O. strigicollis per strawberry plant could suppress 58.9, 72.6, 88.6, and 92.8% of T. urticae, respectively, at 14 days after treatment. A single release of 12 neonate bugs per plant achieved and maintained, over a period of 3 months, 82% to 98% control of T. urticae population. A biweekly release of 6 neonate bugs per plant; likewise, suppressed ca. 90% of T. urticae population throughout the same period. However, predatory efficacy was reduced by an over-release of predators which may cause cannibalism as well as lower possibility of finding prey. Since the released neonates survived well to adults with offspring that retained their predatory ability, this study has demonstrated that O. strigicollis is a predatorwith good potential for sustainable suppression of T. urticae on strawberry, and one application of O. strigicollis neonates at a predator:prey ratio of 1:200 egg plus motile TSSM or 1:60 motiles per strawberry plant promises a season-long control and substantial management of spider mite infestation.

Prognostic Significance of Interactions Between ER Alpha and ER Beta and Lymph Node Status in Breast Cancer Cases

Objective: Both estrogen receptors, ER alpha ($ER{\alpha}$) and ER beta ($ER{\beta}$), are expressed in 50-70% of breast cancer cases. The role of $ER{\alpha}$ as a prognostic marker in breast cancer has been well established as its expression is negative correlated with tumor size and lymph node metastasis. $ER{\beta}$ is also a favorable prognostic predictor although this is less well documented than for $ER{\alpha}$. Materials and Methods: To explore whether ERs independently or together might influence clinical outcome in breast cancer, the correlation between the ERs with the clinicopathological features was analyzed in 84 patients. Results: $ER{\alpha}$ expression negatively correlated with tumor stage (r=-0.246, p=0.028) and tended to be negatively correlated with lymph node status (r=-0.156, p=0.168) and tumor size (r=-0.246, p=0.099). Also, $ER{\beta}$ was negatively correlated with nodal status (r=-0.243, p=0.028), as was coexpression of $ER{\alpha}$ and $ER{\beta}$ (p=0.043, OR=0.194, 95% CI= 0.040-0.953). Conclusion: Coexpression of ERs might serve as an indicator of good prognosis in breast cancer patients.

Screening of Nitrosamine Impurities in Sartan Pharmaceuticals by GC-MS/MS

Probable human carcinogenic compounds nitrosamines, have been detected as by-product impurities in sartan phar- maceuticals in recent years which has drawn worries for medication safety. To provide a sensitive and effective method for the quality control of sartan pharmaceuticals, this study established a feasible gas chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (GC– MS/MS) method for simultaneous determination of 13 nitrosamines. The target analytes were separated on a DB-WAX Ultra Inert column (30 m × 0.25 mm; i.d., 0.25 µm) and were then subjected to electron impact ionization in multiple reaction moni- toring mode. The established method was validated and further employed to analyze authentic samples. Limits of detection (LODs) and limits of quantification (LOQs) of the 13 nitrosamines were 15-250 ng/g and 50-250 ng/g, respectively, which also exhibited intra-day and inter-day accuracies of 91.4-104.8%, thereby satisfying validation criteria. Five nitrosamines, viz., N- nitrosodiethylamine, N-nitrosodimethylamine, N-nitrosodiphenylamine, N-nitrosomorpholine, and N-nitrosopiperidine were detected at concentrations above their LODs in 68 positive samples out of 594 authentic samples from seven sartans.

Systematic Review on Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) DNA in Diagnosis of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma in Asian Populations

Objective: To conduct a meta-analysis to investigate the value of EBV DNA in diagnosis of nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) in Asian populations, and provide important evidence for screening. Methods: Prospective or respective case-control or cohort studies regarding the detection role of EBV DNA for NPC were included in our study. We conducted a comprehensive literature search in PubMed, EMBASE, and the Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM database between January 1980 and March 2012. Results: A total of 18 studies with 1492 NPC cases and 2641 health controls were included. Almost of the included studies were conducted in China, and only one other conducted in Thailand. The overall results demonstrated that the pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood (+LR) and negative likelihood (-LR) were 0.73 (0.71-0.75), 0.89 (0.88-0.90), 8.84 (5.65-13.84) and 0.19(0.11-0.32), respectively. The overall EBV DNA detection showed the largest area of 0.932 under the summary receiver operator curve (SROC). The accuracy of detection by plasma for NPC (0.86) was higher than in serum (0.81), with largest areas under the SROC of 0.97 and 0.91, respectively. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated the EBV DNA detection in plasma or serum has high sensitivity and specificity in diagnosis of NPC, especially in Chinese populations with a high risk of cancer.

The Impact of Soil Available Phosphorus on the Intensity of the Mycorrhizal Colonization of Root at Different Patches in Northern Steppe of China

The research was conducted at a degraded steppe in Saibei Adiministrative Region of ZhangJiakou in Hebei province. Four patches dominated by fringed sagebrush (Artemisia frigida), narrowleaf stellera (Stellera chamaejasme), shining speargrass (Achnatherum splendens), white swordflag (Iris lactea), respectively, were sampled. Phosphorus (P) was applied at four levels (0, 5, 10 and 15㎎ ㎏?¹ soil) in each patch. The mycorrhizal infection rate in Stellera chamaejasme species and Achnatherum splendens species was low, differed from other two patches of Artemisia frigid and Iris lactea.

Polysaccharide from Polygonatum Inhibits the Proliferation of Prostate Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts Cells

Inhibition of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) may improve the efficacy of cancer therapy. Polysaccharide extracted from polygonatum can selectively inhibit the growth of prostate-CAFs (p<0.001) without inhibiting the growth of normal fibroblasts (NAFs). Polysaccharides from polygonatum stimulate autophagy of prostate-CAFs. 3-methyl-adenine(3-MA) is an autophagy inhibitor. 3-MA was added to prostate-CAFs with polysaccharide from polygonatum to determine whether autophagy plays an important role in the restrained effect. Finally, polysaccharide from polygonatum treatment significantly increased the activation of Beclin-1 and LC3, key autophagy proteins. Polysaccharide from polygonatum stimulates autophagy of prostate-CAFs and inhibits prostate-CAF growth, indicating that a novel anti-cancer strategy involves inhibiting the growth of prostate-CAFs.

중국 영화 <주자, 희자, 비자>의 서사구조와 상호텍스트성에 대하여

본 논문에서 우리는 중국의 영화 <주자ㆍ희자ㆍ비자>1)의 다각적인 분석을 시도하여 보았다. 그래서 2장에서는 영화 <주자ㆍ희자ㆍ비자>의 서사구조를 줄거리의 내용에 따라서 쇼트와 몽타쥐로 나누어 시퀸스별로 분석해 보았다. 3장에서는 영화 <주자ㆍ희자ㆍ비자>를 기호학적 차원에서 고찰해 보았다. 그 결과 <주자ㆍ희자ㆍ비자>의 등장인물과 줄거리는 그레마스의 기호학적 사각형의 대립구조를 나타내고 있음을 확인하였다. 일반적으로 양항대립을 가정할 수 있으나 본 영화는 그레마스의 사각형구조를 통해서 대립, 포함, 함의 관계를 적절하게 등장인물들이 나타내고 있음을 확인하였다. 4장에서는 영화 <주자ㆍ희자ㆍ비자>의 상호텍스트성을 신화 <탁록지전>과 영화 <웰컴 투 동막골>을 대비하여 추출해 보았다. 즉 영화 <주자ㆍ희자ㆍ비자>는 매우 상호텍스트성이 강한 텍스트였다. 이를 구조적 상호텍스트성, 정서적 상호텍스트성, 형식적 상호텍스트성이라는 상호텍스트성의 하위특성을 신화 <탁록지전>과 영화<웰컴 투 동막골>에 투영시켜 보았다. 결과적으로 모든 텍스트는 어느 측면에서건 상호텍스트성을 띠고 있으며 그 상호텍스트성을 통하여 텍스트가 텍스트다워지고 그래서 독자나 관람객들이 상호텍스트성을 통하여 공감대를 넓혀 나감을 알 수 있었다. The primary goal of this research is to view the Chinese film <The Chef, the Actor, the Scoundrel> from various angels. The study consisted from the following steps: The author analyzed the narrative structure and synopsis of the Chinese film <The Chef, the Actor, the Scoundrel> briefly in part 2. In part 3, the author investigated the film from the point of view of semiotics signs. The result of the research indicates that the relationship between the characters of the film and the synopsis conforms the Greimas`rectangle. In general, the author assumed an initial binary relationship between two contrary signs, but in this film the author found the contrary, the contradictory and the implication relationship based on Greimas`rectangle. The author investigated the intertextuality of the film by comparing it with the Chinese traditional myth <the Yellow Emperor fights Chi You> and Korean film <Welcome to Dongmagol>. In other words, the film <The Chef, the Actor, the Scoundrel> is a text which has very strong intertextuality. However, the author found out that the sub-characteristic value of the intertextuality such as the intertextuality of the narrative structure, the depression and the modality from the myth <the Yellow Emperor fights Chi You> and the film <Welcome to Dongmagol>. As a result of the current research, the author concludes that each text has intertextuality in some ways. On account of the intertextuality, the text becomes more textualization. And thanks to the intertextuality, consensus of readers or audiences could be achieved.

본체와 공부[工夫]의 관통 - 陸世儀의 주자의 태극론 재구성 및 그 의의

周敦頤의 『太極圖說』에 대한 陸世儀의 해석은 주자 理氣論의 기본틀에 맞춰 태극 본체와 人極 공부의 이중적 함의를 드러내 보였다. 그는 한 편으로는 무극과 태극의 판별 및 태극과 음양의 판별을 통해 형상 본체론과 우주 생성론 사이의 모순을 해소함으로써 초월적 理의 존재 우전성을 유지하였다. 다른 한 편으로는 또 主靜과 主敬의 판별 및 인극과 태극의 판별을 통해 주자와 염계 사이의 이론적 차이를 해소함으로써 유가 본래의 수신 공부가 더욱 뚜렷이 드러나도록 하였다. 이것은 틀림없이 주자학의 관련 문제에 관한 토론을 심화시킴으로써 송명 리학사에서 중요한 이론적 가치를 지니게 된다. Lu Shiyi (1611-1672)’s interpretation of Zhou Dunyi (1017-1073)’s Taiji Tu Shuo inherited the basic framework of Zhu Zi (1130-1200)’s li-qi theory, and revealed the dual connotation of Taiji noumenon and Renji effort. On the one hand, he eliminated the contradiction between metaphysical ontology and cosmology by distinguishing Wuji-Taiji and Taiji-Yinyang, so as to maintain the existence priority of transcendental principles; on the other hand, he also resolved the theoretical differences between Zhu Zi and Zhou Dunyi by distinguishing calmness-respect and Taiji-Renji, making the self-cultivation of Confucian standard stand more prominent. This undoubtedly deepened the discussion of relevant issues in Zhu Zi theory and has important theoretical value in the history of Song-ming Neo-Confucianism.

17世紀初朱之蕃來朝鮮傳≪篆訣歌≫以後, 影響金振興、林得明、吳世昌等人的學習篆書. 現今在韓國圖書館裏可以看到≪篆訣歌≫的不同版本. 元代的應在寫了≪篆法辨訣≫以後, 經朱之蕃、李登、仰嘉祥等之手, 有了≪篆法探源 (篆書偏旁歌訣)≫之新面貌. 本論文考察了≪篆訣歌≫的不同版本, 硏究了應在的≪篆法辨訣≫、朱之蕃的≪篆訣歌≫、仰嘉祥的≪篆法探源≫、韓天衡的≪篆法辨訣≫的關係. 在中國收藏網和雅昌藝術網看到的淸刻本≪篆訣歌≫最接近于朱之蕃的≪篆訣歌≫, 韓國國立中央圖書館所藏的吳世昌抄寫的≪篆訣歌≫就是臨摹타的. 除此外韓國國立中央圖書館也有吳世昌抄寫的不同版本. 韓國忠南大學校圖書館也有與淸刻本不同的版本. 本論文僅探討了≪篆訣歌≫異本的初步問題, 尤其有地域的限制, 僅考察了在中國的幾個圖書館和網上的資料, 沒考察了在中國散在的≪篆訣歌≫的不同古本, 等後人的深入硏究.

유산소 운동요법이 우울증 개선 효과에 대한 메타분석 : 노인 대상 중심으로

This study performs a meta-analysis of published studies to determine the effectiveness of exercise intervention on depression in the elderly. The purpose is to provide advice on exercise intervention measures suitable for fighting depression to the elderly based on studies selected according to screening criteria. According to the PICOS format, research published in the Korean Journal Citation Index (KCI), Academic Research Information Service (RISS), Nuri Media (DBpia), and Korean Academic Information (KISS) will be searched from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022. Through selection, 18 journals and papers from 949 documents were selected and analyzed. For meta-analysis, the results were calculated using the Stata 17.0 program. Based on the results of scales such as KGDS (Korean Form of Geriatric Depression Scale) and GDSSF-K (Geratic Depression Scale Short Korean Version), the overall effect of exercise on depression in the elderly was 1.14, and participation in exercise in the elderly had a certain effect on depression. Taken together, exercise intervention had a positive effect on the improvement of depression in the elderly. Therefore, when choosing an exercise plan, the elderly are suitable for selecting and formulating exercise plans and exercise methods in the form of medium intensity, 60 minutes each time, twice a week, and more than 12 weeks.
