<P>We suggested that the neutral line is a more effective location for a superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) in a three-phase power system. To confirm it, we analyzed the quench and recovery characteristics of SFCL applied into the neutral line in cases of non-symmetrical ground faults, such as single line-to-ground and double line-to-ground faults. Through a comparative analysis based on the experimental results for two SFCLs applied either to the neutral line or to the three-phase power line, it was confirmed that the SFCL applied into the neutral line of the power system was more advantageous from the viewpoint of both the practical use of the SFCL and the SFCL's coordination with other related protective devices in the power system.</P>

Malignant melanoma is highly resistant to conventional treatments and is one of the most aggressive types of skin cancer. Conventional cancer treatments are limited due to drug resistance, tumor selectivity, and toxicities. Therefore, new treatments with fewer side effects and excellent effects should be developed. A ganglioside, a molecule composed of a glycosphingolipid, has crucial roles involved in cell-cell interaction, cell growth, proliferation, inflammation, differentiation, and tumorigenesis. Meanwhile, Quercetin (Qu) is considered that potentially inhibit cancer growth, proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, the relationship between its effects on malignant melanoma and ganglioside expression has not been clear. The aim of this study was to investigate the anti-cancer effects of Qu based on the relationship between protein structure and ganglioside on human skin cancer. In this study, quercetin, a flavonoid drug, did not induce toxicity in the human epithelial cell line HaCaT, but Its was abnormal cell elongation and morphological change in the proliferation and growth of skin cancer. Moreover, Its was treated so that cells in the G1/G0 phase cannot proceed to the subsequent S phase, which induces cell cycle arrest. The proliferation rate of cell migration was a certain range of proliferation was inhibited, it can be strongly assumed that this result is directly related to the expression of the various proteins analyzed above. Additionally, we discovered ganglioside decreased in melanoma with quercetin treatment. Taken together, it will be important evidence and present their potential as future therapeutic agents for treating carcinogenesis to figure out the molecular relationship between quercetin, ganglioside, and an anti-target protein of melanoma.
Study on performance test of orchard tractor power transmission systems

This study started to export an orchard tractor to Europe under the situations that R&D activities for orchard tractor were marginal and even it was not produced. The R&D for orchard tractor has been progressed and the most of it is accomplishing the goal. In this study, the durability of clutch friction part was tested for F/R clutch and moment of inertia of PTO clutch, and it was compared with the design criteria of transmission of tractor. According to the results of inertia test of F/R clutch, hydraulic pressures of clutch satisfied $1,961.33{\pm}196.13kPa$ of design criteria, and the variations of torque for forward and reverse operation were relatively constant. Therefore, it was found that the durability of clutch friction part was stable and reliable. Test results showed that the main hydraulic pressures were maintained $1,961.33{\pm}196.13kPa$ during the tests of moment of inertia of PTO clutch, and when it was operated, the hydraulic pressures were reached $1,961.33{\pm}196.13kPa$. Therefore, it was found that the hydraulic pressures of PTO satisfied the design criteria. By the results that the time of the hydraulic pressures of PTO reaching main hydraulic pressure, and that of torque values restoring to the original was same as the time of the first gear of PTO reaching the maximum rotational speed, it was found that PTO could transfer power to attachments as it was designed.

In monsoon climates, persistent shade is a troublesome weather condition with an impact on the growth and yield of corn (Zea mays L.). We imposed 7, 14, 21, and 28 days of consecutive shade (CS) on Gwangpyeongok and P3394 corn hybrids at the beginning of the kernel filling stages. Shade had little impact on leaf area and dry matter accumulation in the stem and leaves. However, dry matter accumulation in the ear was severely reduced by approximately 28% and 53% after 14 and 28 days of CS, respectively. For the components of grain yield, 7 and 14 days of shade did irreparable damage to the number of filled kernels, the kernel number per ear row, and the percent of filled kernels, but did little damage or reversible damage after removal of the shade to the 100-grain weight and the row number per ear. Shade significantly reduced the relative growth rate (RGR) due to a decrease in the net assimilation rate (NAR). These results suggest that source activity limitation by shade during the kernel filling stages leads to the inhibition of sink activity and size. The yield of biomass, ear, and grain logistically declined as the length of CS increased. Probit analysis revealed that the number of days of CS needed to cause 25% and 50% reductions in grain yield were 3.7 and 23.1, respectively. These results suggest that the plant yield loss induced by shade at the beginning of the kernel filling stages is mainly achieved within the first 7 days of consecutive shade.
