Verrucous carcinoma is an unusual, non-metastasizing,distinct variant of squamous cell carcinoma composed of four subtypes according to the site of occurrence: oral type,anogenital type, plantar type, and other cutaneous sites. Oral type verrucous carcinoma usually shows slow progression with a low incidence of metastases. Treatment of verrcous carcinoma is challenging; multiple medical and surgical therapies are often attempted, with limited success. We reported on 2 cases of verrucous carcinoma of the lip treated with topical imiquimod and debulking therapy. (Ann Dermatol 23(S1) S68∼S71, 2011)

<P>Dedifferentiated vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) are phenotypically modulated from the contractile state to the active synthetic state in the vessel wall. In this study, we investigated the effects of resveratrol on phenotype modulation by dedifferentiation and the intracellular signal transduction pathways of platelet derived growth factor-bb (PDGF-bb) in rat aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (RAOSMCs). Treatment of RAOSMCs with resveratrol showed dose-dependent inhibition of PDGF-bb-stimulated proliferation. Resveratrol treatment inhibited this phenotype change and disassembly of actin filaments and maintained the expression of contractile phenotype-related proteins such as calponin and smooth muscle actin-alpha in comparison with only PDGF-bb stimulated RAOSMC. Although PDGF stimulation elicited strong and detectable Akt and mTOR phosphorylations lasting for several hours, Akt activation was much weaker when PDGF was used with resveratrol. In contrast, resveratrol only slightly inhibited phosphorylations of 42/44 MAPK and p38 MAPK. In conclusion, RAOSMC dedifferentiation, phenotype, and proliferation rate were inhibited by resveratrol via interruption of the balance of Akt, 42/44MAPK, and p38MAPK pathway activation stimulated by PDGF-bb.</P>
HD-RESOLUTION DEPTH IMAGE GENERATION SYSTEM USING SINGLE TOF CAMERA AND STEREO HD CAMERAS

Generating high quality 3D contents need high resolution 3D modeling mesh data or high resolution 3D images with depth images and RGB images. However, resolution of 3D ToF cameras is about CIF which is not profitable for generating 3D HD contents for digital theaters or HDTVs in your home. In the process of making HD contents using small images or videos, the lack of information causes image quality degradation like block effect or blurring. There are some methods to raise the resolution of images and videos by simply upsampling or using more information of other cameras. In this paper we used two HD cameras and one TOF (Time of Flight) camera. The final resolution of depth images is HD. In chapter 2, the camera system to capture images is shown and in chapter 3, the algorithm of this paper is proposed. The result and the future works is shown in chapter 4 and 5.
Indolent metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of hilar lymph node with cancer of unknown primary

Metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of intrathoracic lymph node with cancer of unknown primary (CUP) is very rare. We report a case of metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of hilar lymph node with CUP and review of the associated literatures. Abnormal mass in the right hilar was incidentally detected. The patient was performed a right pneumonectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection. Microscopically, metastatic squamous cell carcinoma at hilar lymph nodes without primary lung or other lesion was diagnosed. He has currently been received adjuvant chemotherapy under diagnosis of T0N1M0 Lung cancer.

Subsurface drip irrigation is highly efficient irrigation system to save water compared to surface irrigation methods. Although the use of soil sensors helps farmers with irrigation scheduling by providing information about when and how much to irrigate, little information is available on soil moisture pattern by subsurface drip irrigation using different soil sensors. Therefore, irrigation scheduling using different soil sensors was evaluated to compare soil moisture wetting pattern at coarse textured soil. Subsurface drip irrigation system was installed at 40cm depth from soil surface with the dripline of 1.6L/hr effluent rate. Study soil has 6% clay content and classified with sandy loam, which was evaluated plant available water content of 10.8%. Subsurface drip irrigation were automatically initiated based on soil moisture sensor and tensiometer. In this study soil water content was fluctuated with irrigation and precipitation event. In the treatment of irrigation by soil moisture sensor, soil water content was well maintained at desired soil water content. However, the variability of soil water content by tensiometer was relatively greater compared to soil water sensor. The results of this study indicate that the irrigation rate and coverage of the irrigation system should be determined on irrigated soil and the amount of water to be applied or target point must be determined based on the irrigation system and the soil water characteristics.
