Secondary somatic embryogenesis in Cork oak: influence of plant growth regulators

Cork oak (Quercus suber L.) is one of the most important Mediterranean forest tree species, and the Ma^amora forest-Morocco is considered to be the world largest cork oak stand. Clonal propagation of Quercus suber via somatic embryogenesis is an alternative to conventional tree propagation methods. However, complete maturation of somatic embryos is considered the major bottleneck for mass propagation of Quercus suber during somatic embryogenesis. This study focuses on influences of cytokinins on secondary somatic embryogenesis. Cytokinins showed a negative effect on the induction of secondary somatic embryogenesis. For the various concentrations tested, the number of secondary somatic embryos was significantly reduced except in the case with low dose of 2iP, which showed a slight increase. Abscisic acid (ABA) may be beneficial at low concentrations between 0.3 and 0.5mg/l. The best number of secondary embryos was given at 0.5mg/l ABA with an average number of 5 embryos from each primary embryo, which represents a slight increase below 10% compared to control medium. Also, we found that the number of responsive embryos presenting secondary somatic embryos based on their cotyledons decreased once adding ABA. Phenylurea derivatives TDZ and DPU do not promoted the process of secondary somatic embryogenesis. DPU showed no significant effect with a similar response to that of the control medium and TDZ showed an inhibitory effect. Gibberellic acid (GA3) partially blocked the process of somatic embryos multiplication, but promoted remarkably the germination of cotyledonary embryos without requesting a particular protocol. Our results provide a new insight into embryo development, establishing the basis for further research toward improvement of secondary somatic embryogenesis in Moroccan cork oak.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate the 5-year clinical performance of occlusal carious restorations using nanofill and microhybrid composites, in combination with 3-step etch-and-rinse adhesives, in patients who were going to commence orthodontic treatment. Materials and Methods: A total of 118 restorations for occlusal caries were conducted prior to orthodontic treatment. Occlusal restorations were performed both with Filtek Supreme XT (3M ESPE) and Filtek Z250 (3M ESPE) before beginning orthodontic treatment with fixed orthodontic bands. Restorations were clinically evaluated at baseline and at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5-year recalls. Results: None of the microhybrid (Filtek Z250) and nanofill (Filtek Supreme XT) composite restorations was clinically unacceptable with respect to color match, marginal discoloration, wear or loss of anatomical form, recurrent caries, marginal adaptation, or surface texture. A 100% success rate was recorded for both composite materials. There were no statistically significant differences in any of the clinical evaluation criteria between Filtek Z250 and Filtek Supreme XT restorations for each evaluation period. Conclusions: The composite restorations showed promising clinical results relating to color matching, marginal discoloration, wear or loss of anatomical form, recurrent caries, marginal adaptation, and surface texture at the end of the 5-year evaluation period.

We have studied the effect of the Dzyaloshinskii Moria (DM) interaction on geometric quantum discord (GQD) and concurrence for two spin $\sfrac12$ particles in the XXZ Heisenberg model, we have also investigated the effects of the temperature, the strength of DM interaction (D) and the anisotropic coupling constant of the Heisenberg model $J_z$ on them in the GQD and concurrence. Further, we have compared the behaviors of GQD and entanglement for our system under the above parameters.
Effectiveness of mineral additives in mitigating alkali-silica reaction in mortar

The effectiveness of mineral additives in suppressing alkali-silica reactivity has been studied in this work. Experimentation has been performed in accordance with the procedures prescribed in ASTM C 1567. In the scope of the investigation, a quarry aggregate which was reactive according to ASTM C 1260 was tested. In the experimental program, prismatic mortar specimens measuring 25×25×285 mm were produced. Ten sets of production, three specimens for each set, were made. Length changes were measured at the end of 3, 7, 14 and 28 days and then expansions in percentage have been calculated. Fly ash, silica fume, and metakaolin have been used as cement replacement in different ratios for the testing of the alkali-silicate reactivity of the aggregate. In the mixes performed, the replacement ratios were 20%, 40%, and 60% for the fly ash, and 5%, 10%, and 15% for the silica fume, and 5%, 10%, and 15% for the metakaolin. Mixes without mineral additives were also produced for comparison. The beneficial effect in suppressing alkali-silica reactivity is highly noticeable as the replacement ratios of the mineral additives increase regardless of the type of the mineral additive used. Being more concise, the optimum concentrations of using silica fume and metakaolin in mortar in suppressing ASR is 10%, respectively, while it is 20% for fly ash.

Cardiac disease analysis in big data is an emerging factor for human health protection against heart attacks. Most cardiovascular diseases lead to heart failure due to an imbalance of immunity and attention in health conditions. Hence, immunity-based feature analysis of patients’ records is essential to predict accurate results. The machine learning methods make predictions depending on the extended-lasting features to analyze the health data. But the marginal features expose non-relational feature observation to reduce the classifi cation prediction accuracy. We propose a Deep Spectral Time-Variant Feature Analytic Model (DSTV-FAM) using SoftMax Recurrent Neural Network (SMRNN) in a wireless sensor network to improve cardiac disease prediction accuracy. Initially, the IoT sensor devices collect the data from patient observation to validate the data transmission in route propagation. The collected data is organized as features in the collective dataset. The parts are initially preprocessed into the redundant dataset and estimate the Cardiac Immunity Infl uence Rate (CIIR) depending on the time-variant feature selection model. The estimated weights are marginalized as spectral features trained into the classifi ers. Further, Soft-Max Activation Function (SMAF) creates a logical function depending on the Cardiac Aff ection Rate (CAR). Then the trained, rational neurons are constructed into a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) Feed-forward feature values using a classifi er and Rate of Disease Aff ection (RDA) by Class Type. The proposed structure yields high prescient exactness concerning order, accuracy, and review to help early treatment for early cardiovascular gamble expectation.

In particular, we give an explicit representation of the anti-commutator $\{A,B\}=AB+BA$. Also we give some conditions for which the sum $A+C$ is Drazin invertible.

To determine the effects of dry period (DP) length on milk yield, milk composition, some blood metabolites, complete blood count (CBC), body weight and score and follicular status, twenty five primiparous and multiparous Holstein cows were assigned to a completely randomized design with DP-60 (n = 13) and DP-20 (n = 12) dry period lengths. Cows in the DP-60 produced more milk, protein, SNF, serum non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA) and beta hydroxyl butyrate acid (BHBA) compared with cows in DP-20 ($p{\leq}0.05$). Serum glucose, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), urea, and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) were all similar among the treatments. Body Condition Score (BCS), body weight (BW), complete blood count (CBC) and health problems were similar between the treatments. Diameter of the first dominant follicle and diameter of the dominant follicle on d 14 were different among the treatments. Thus, results of this study showed that reducing the dry period length to DP-20 had a negative effect on milk production, milk composition and reproductive performance in Holstein dairy cows.
