We describe a patient who underwent arthroscopic pullout fixation for a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) avulsion fracture. A 46-year-old female, injured in a fall while riding a motorcycle, was diagnosed with a right knee PCL tibial attachment avulsion fracture and underwent arthroscopic osteosynthesis. A Kirschner wire was drilled to a point just medial to the medial border of the anterior tibial bony bed. A suture wire was folded into a loop and introduced into the posteromedial compartment via the bone tunnel. A fixation thread was inserted from the posteromedial portal, through the medial and lateral loop wires, and into the posteromedial compartment. The lateral and medial loop wires attached to the thread were pulled to the outside, and the thread was fixed onto the tibia. Three months post-surgery, she returned to her job. This procedure represents a minimally invasive method of treating avulsion fractures of the tibial attachment of the PCL.
Principals’ perceptions of effective teaching: A survey of Chinese school principals

Principals’ beliefs of effective teaching presumably shape their efforts to recruit teachers, evaluate teaching quality, support teachers to develop their teaching practices, and nurture the professional environment that promotes high the teaching quality in their schools. Drawing on survey data from 314 Chinese principals, this study examines principals’ perceptions of effective teaching and compares them with those of Chinese teachers and U.S. school principals in the literature. The study found that Chinese principals believed effective teaching practices to be those that align lesson plans with student learning styles, engage students actively in the learning process, offer clear, specific, and timely feedback, treat all students with respect, and maintain a physical and emotional safe environment for learning. These ideas are consistent with Chinese teachers’ perceptions about effective teaching but are clearly differentiated from those of U.S. principals. These perceptions were varied as participants had different years of administrative experiences, worked in urban or rural schools, and in schools with different levels of student performance.

Multi-objects tracking (MOT) is an important basic research area in computer vision in recent years. In particular, pedestrian tracking and vehicle tracking are very popular applications in MOT. In this paper, we perform MOT on cows, In this MOT task we address the following challenges: deformation and frequent occlusion. To solve deformation, we proposed a deep CNN model with SPP-Net as backbone to extract a feature vector of every cow. To solve occlusion, we use the ensemble Kalman filter that suitable for non-linear motion model to predict the attributes of bounding boxes directly. Our experiments reveal that nonlinear motion model and fixed deep features are more suitable on cows dataset with video sequences.

In view of the problems that traditional woven surgical gowns are prone to cross infection in blocking blood andliquid spillage, cellulose acetate (CA)/polylactic acid (PLA) nonwoven materials were prepared to improve the functionalrequirements of surgical materials in combination with the rapidly developing green fibers. Fiber mixing ratio, fiber webareal weight and water jet pressure were selected to optimize the preparation process of cellulose acetate/polylactic acid (CA/PLA) nonwoven materials with moisture permeability and filtration efficiency. The results showed that the fiber mixing ratiowas 49:51, and the fiber web areal weight was 130 g/m2, and the water jet pressure was 7 MPa. Under this process, moisturepermeability is 5240.86 g/(m2·h), and the filtration efficiency is 38.12 %, which is close to the theoretical value. It shows thatthe response surface method has practical application value, indicating that the response surface method has practicalapplication value, and can provide a theoretical basis for the preparation process parameters of barrier and comfort nonwovensurgical gowns at the same time.

Introduction: Recently, remnant-preserving anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction has been increasingly performed to achieve revascularization, cell proliferation, and recovery of high-quality proprioception. However, poor arthroscopic visualization makes accurate socket placement during remnant-preserving ACL reconstruction difficult. This study describes a surgical technique used to create an anatomical femoral socket with a three-dimensional (3D) fluoroscopy based navigation system during technically demanding remnant-preserving ACL reconstruction. Surgical Technique: After a reference frame was attached to the femur, an intraoperative image of the distal femur was obtained, transferred to the navigation system and reconstructed into a 3D image. A navigation computer helped the surgeon visualize the entire lateral wall of the femoral notch and lateral intercondylar ridge, even when the remnant of the ruptured ACL impeded arthroscopic visualization of the bone surface. When a guide was placed, the virtual femoral tunnel overlapped the reconstructed 3D image in real time; therefore, only minimal soft tissue debridement was required. Materials and Methods: We treated 47 patients with remnant-preserving ACL reconstruction using this system. The center of the femoral socket aperture was calculated according to the quadrant technique using 3D computed tomography imaging. Results: The femoral socket locations were considered to be an anatomical footprint in accordance with previous cadaveric studies. Conclusions: The 3D fluoroscopy-based navigation can assist surgeons in creating anatomical femoral sockets during remnant-preserving ACL reconstruction.
