The microheaters with Si_(3)N_(4)(1500Å)/SiO_(2)(3000Å)/Si_(3)N_(4)( 1500Å) diaphragm were fabricated by thin film technology and silicon micromachining techniques. Pt and poly-Si(n+) materials were used as heater materials of microheater. Pt temperature sensor was fabricated to detect the temperature of microheaters. The thermal analysis including temperature distribution on diaphragm and power consumption of the microheater were executed by the FEM method and heat transfer equations. The power consumption of the Pt and poly-Si(n+) heaters were measured and compared to that of thermal analysis by FEM simulation.

The DMA(Dimethylamine) gas sensors were fabricated with the ZnO-based thin films grown by a RF magnetron sputtering method. We investigated the sensitivity and response time according to temperature variation and DMA gas concentration. The ZnO-based thin film sensors sputtered in oxygen atmosphere showed higher sensitivity than those sputtered in argon atmosphere. The ZnO-based thin film sensors doped with Al_(2)O_(3), In_(2)O_(3) and V_(2)O_(5) and sputtered in oxygen atmosphere showed the maximum sensitivity of 218(working temperature, 250 ℃, DMA gas, 160 ppm) and speedy response time. The ZnO-based thin film sensors doped with Al_(2)O_(3), In_(2)O_(3), TiO_(2) and V_(2)O_(5), sputtered in oxygen atmosphere and aged at 330 ℃ showed the maximum sensitivity of 156(working temperature, 250 ℃, DMA gas, 160 ppm).

The ammonia gas sensors were fabricated with the ZnO-based thin films grown by a RF magnetron sputtering method. We investigated the sensitivity and response time according to temperature variation and ammonia gas concentration. The sensors sputtered in oxygen atmosphere showed higher sensitivity than those sputtered in argon atmosphere. The Au(0.3 wt.%) doped-ZnO thin film sensors aged at 330 ℃ showed the maximum sensitivity of 28 and good response time at a working temperature of 250 ℃ and to 160 ppm ammonia gas. The Pt(0.1 wt.%) doped-ZnO thin film sensors showed the maximum sensitivity at a low working temperature of 200 ℃.

Analysis of load data during field operations is highly important for optimum design of power drive lines for agricultural tractor. Objective of the paper was to analyze field load data using FFT to determine frequency and the energy levels of meaningful cyclic patterns. Rotary tillage, plowing, baling, and wrapping operations were selected as major field operations of agricultural tractor. An agricultural tractor with power measurement system was used. The tractor was equipped with strain-gauge sensors to measure torque of four driving axles and a PTO axle, speed sensors to measure rotational speed of the driving axles and an engine shaft, pressure sensors to measure pressure of hydraulic pumps, an I/O interface to acquire the sensor signals, and an embedded system to calculate power requirement. In rotary tillage, calculated frequency was decreased as travel speed increased. In baler operation, calculated frequency was increased as PTO speed was increased. The calculated peak frequency levels and expected levels were similar. Results of the study would provide information on power utilization patterns and on better design of power drive lines.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this article, structure, dielectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of Bi rich Bi<SUB>1.05</SUB>(Zn<SUB>0.5</SUB>Ti<SUB>0.5</SUB>)O<SUB>3</SUB>-modified BiFeO<SUB>3</SUB>-BaTiO<SUB>3</SUB> (BF-BT-<I>x</I>BZT) ceramics were investigated experimentally. Crystal structure, phase purity and microstructure were examined through X-ray diffractometry and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The crystallographic results show the formation of single-phase solid solutions for all compositions except <I>x</I> = 10 mol%. The BF-BT modification through BZT instigates variation in grain size, enhancement in Curie temperature (<I>T</I> <SUB>C</SUB>) and field induced polarization and strain response. Large field induced strain of ∼0.24% at low driving field along with a small hysteresis of ∼38% was observed for 2 mol% BZT modified BF-BT ceramics. These investigated results signpost the potentiality of BF-BT-<I>x</I>BZT ceramics in high temperature piezoelectric device applications.</P>
A Case of Ectopic ACTH Syndrome Associated with Small Cell Lung Cancer

We report a case of extensive stage SCLC with EAS confirmed by immunohistochemical stain of ACTH in tumor cells who died early due to rapidly progressive acute respiratory distress and pneumonia before the start of chemotherapy and corticosteroid blocking agent. Through our case, we learn how important early diagnosis and treatment of EAS associated with SCLC are and hope to apply to other cases from now on. 이소성 ACTH(adrenocorticotropic hormone)증후군은 ACTH를 분비하는 비뇌하수체종양으로 고코르티졸혈증을 보인다. 소세포폐암에서 ACTH를 분비하는 부종양 증후군은 비교적 흔하지만, 임상적으로 의미있는 고코르티졸혈증은 1~5% 정도로 매우 드물다. 이소성 ACTH 증후군은 소세포폐암이 전형적인 쿠싱증후군이 나타나기도 전에 빨리 진행하므로 전형적인 월상안, 복부비만, 골다공증 등의 증상을 나타낼 때까지 생존하는 경우가 매우 드물며, 체중 감소, 부종, 근위축 등 비전형적인 임상 양상을 나타내어 신속히 진단하여 치료하기가 어렵다. 도한 이소성 ACTH 증후군에 의한 고코르티졸혈증은 항암제에 잘 반응하지 않고 치료 중에 소화기 궤양, 출혈, 천공, 폐렴 등의 치명적인 합병증이 동반되므로평균 수명이 4개월 미만으로 예후가 매우 불량하다. 따라서, 소세포폐암에서 이소성 ACTH 증후군의 조기 발견 및 치료는 예후 향상을 위해 매우 중요하다. 이에 저자들은 61세의 비전형적인 쿠싱 증후군의 증상으로 발현된 진행성 소세포폐함의 환자에서 급격히 악화되는 임상 경과를 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.
경사판 침전지에서 저류벽의 설치위치에 따른 수리학적 특성의 평가

Sedimentation is one of the most common and important units in conventional water treatment plant. Structure such as various baffle walls and inclined plate settler may be obstacles to the horizontal flow when it is poorly designed. Therefore, the effects of these structures on characteristics of hydraulic flow must be evaluated to improve the settling efficiency of the floc. The hydraulic characteristic of the two sedimentations at Y water treatment plant (YWTP), which have different deflector baffles inside the settling basin, were investigated by tracer (fluoride) test. The inclined plate settler installed inside settling basin caused an undesirable impact on horizontal flow and produced dead zone. Solid baffle wall under the plate settler could help to minimize the formation of density currents and flow short circuiting. NalE used as a tracer was recovered more than 90% at investigated all basins. Morill index (t_(90)/t_10)), Modal index (t_p/T-HRT) and short-circuiting index ([M-HRT-t_p]/M-HRT) were determined from tracer test results performed at YWTP. Those indices ranged 2.95~3.02, 0.40~0.53 and 0.32~0.46, respectively.
