Inhibition of Microcystis aeruginosa by the Extracellular Substances from an Aeromonas sp

( Yu Mei Liu ),( Ming Jun Chen ),( Meng Hui Wang1 ),( Rui Bao Jia ),( Li Li ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2013 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.23 No.9

Growth of Microcystis aeruginosa could be inhibited significantly within 24 h by the extracellular substances prepared from Aeromonas sp. strain FM. During the treatment, the concentration of extracellular soluble carbohydrates increased significantly in algal culture. Morphological and ultrastructural changes in M. aeruginosa cells, including breakage of the cell surface, secretion of mucilage, and intracellular disorganization of thylakoids, were observed. HPLC-MS analysis showed that the extracellular substances of Aeromonas sp. strain FM were a mixture of free amino acids, tripeptides, and clavulanate. Among these, the algaelysis effects of lysine and clavulanate were confirmed.

Degradation and damage behaviors of steel frame welded connections

        Meng Wang,Yongjiu Shi,Yuanqing Wang,Jun Xiong,Hong Chen 국제구조공학회 2013 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.15 No.4

In order to study the degradation and damage behavirs of steel frame welded connections, two series of tests in references with different connection constructions were carried out subjected to various cyclic loading patterns. Hysteretic curves, degradation and damage behaviours and fatigue properties of specimens were firstly studied. Typical failure modes and probable damage reasons were discussed. Then, various damage index models with variables of dissipative energy, cumulative displacement and combined energy and displacement were summarized and applied for all experimental specimens. The damage developing curves of ten damage index models for each connection were obtained. Finally, the predicted and evaluated capacities of damage index models were compared in order to describe the degraded performance and failure modes. The characteristics of each damage index model were discussed in depth, and then their distributive laws were summarized. The tests and analysis results showed that the loading histories significantly affected the distributive shapes of damage index models. Different models had their own ranges of application. The selected parameters of damage index models had great effect on the developing trends of damage curves. The model with only displacement variable was recommended because of a more simple form and no integral calculation, which was easier to be formulated and embedded in application programs.

Clinical Impact of Drug Adherence of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors in Children with Ph-Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

        Jun-Xia Wang,Miao-Miao Yang,Li-Peng Liu,Hui-Min Zhang,Meng-Chuan Wang,Yu-Wen Chen,Xiao-Ying Zang,Fang Hu 대한암학회 2023 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.55 No.3

Purpose This study aimed to explore the impact of ABL1–tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) adherence on the survival of chromosome-positive (Ph+) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) children and clarify the potential predictors of patients’ prognosis from TKIs intake practices.Materials and Methods Ninety newly diagnosed Ph+ ALL patients who received TKIs were enrolled. We collected the baseline characteristics and adverse events in all children; moreover, TKIs adherence was measured by an eight-item Morisky medication adherence scale (MMAS-8). Progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) analysis were performed, and risk factors for PFS and OS were evaluated. Results Among all patients, 69 cases were regarded as adherers, while 21 were non-adherers. The median duration of TKIs interruption was significantly prolonged in the non-adherence group than in the adherence group (13 [0-101] vs. 56 [11-128], p < 0.001). Additionally, dose reduction occurred in 55.2% of non-adherers versus 23.0% of adherers (p=0.002). The PFS and OS in adherers were significantly higher versus non-adherers (p=0.020 and p=0.039). MMAS-8 score was an independent risk factor for PFS (p=0.010) and OS (p=0.031). Among non-adherers, the median OS was only 23.1% (4.2%-42%) in patients aged ≤ 10 years versus 54.4% (38.8%-70%) in adolescents. Most of the patients who experienced TKIs non-adherence suffered pancytopenia. Conclusion TKIs adherence during treatment significantly influenced the survival of pediatric Ph+ ALL patients, and non-adherers with age ≤ 10 years were more vulnerable to TKIs disruption. The cumulative TKIs dose should be especially emphasized to patients with age ≤ 10 years, which may result in an inferior achievement of relevant treatment milestones.

Interaction between laser-induced plasma/vapor and arc plasma during fiber laser-MIG hybrid welding

        Jun Wang,Chunming Wang,Xuanxuan Meng,Xiyuan Hu,Yangchun Yu,Shengfu Yu 대한기계학회 2011 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.25 No.6

Hybrid plasma is an important physical phenomenon in fiber laser-MIG hybrid welding. It greatly affects the stability of the process, the quality of the weld, and the efficiency of energy coupling. In this paper, clear and direct proofs of these characteristics are presented through high-speed video images. Spectroscopic analysis is used to describe the characterization of hybrid plasma. The hybrid plasma forms a curved channel between the welding wire and the keyhole during the fiber laser-MIG hybrid welding process. The curved channel is composed of two parts. The laser-induced plasma/vapor expands due to the combined effect of the laser and the MIG arc, forming an ionization duct, which is one part of the curved channel. The resistance of the duct is smaller than that of other locations because of the rise in electrical conductivity. Consequently, the electrical arc is guided through the duct to the surface of the material, which is the other part of the curved channel. The spectral intensities of metal elements in laser-MIG hybrid welding are much stronger than those in MIGonly welding, whereas the spectral intensities of shielding gas element in laser-MIG hybrid welding are much weaker.

      • Live Media Streaming in VANETs using Traffic Flow

        Shuoping Wang,Zhipeng Wang,Jun Liu,Honghao Gao,Meng Kuai 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.1

Multimedia streaming is a trend in VANETs infotainment service with establishment of infrastructure and communication standards. This paper considers the scenario of live multimedia streaming multicast to vehicles. We propose the relay selection scheme to deliver media streaming with stable link to improve QoS (quality of service). Through evaluation, our proposed scheme is able to have video delivered with a satisfying delay and acceptable loss ratio.

Study on Nano-Metal Oxide and Carbon Nanotube Composites on Thermal Decomposition of Potassium Perchlorate

        Ping-An Liu,Meng-Jun Wang,Lu Wang,Jun Wang,Ting Wang 대한화학회 2019 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.40 No.4

In this study, novel carbon nanotube (CNT) and transition-metal oxides (TMOs) nanoparticle catalysts were prepared and their effects on the thermal decomposition of potassium perchlorate (KP) were investigated. Nanocatalysts have been widely studied because of their excellent properties, such as the high surface energies of nanoparticles and their ease of agglomeration adversely affect their catalytic performances. Good dispersion is the key to good nanocatalytic activity. The composite catalysts were prepared by loading a nanocatalyst on CNTs; this improves nanoparticle dispersion, promotes electron transfer during the reaction, and increases the catalytic effect. Different types of CNT-based composite catalysts and their corresponding single nanocatalysts were each added to KP. The effects of the catalysts on the thermal decomposition of KP were studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The activity of each catalyst was evaluated on the basis of the changes in the thermal decomposition peaks and the apparent decomposition heats. The results show that the activity of a composite catalyst in KP thermal decomposition is much higher than that of its corresponding single nanocatalyst.

Hybridization Using a New Male-sterile Germplasm as the Female Parent in Chinese Jujube

        Wang, Jiu-rui,Cui, Xiu-mei,Dai, Li,Liu, Ping,Zhao, Jin,Liu, Meng-jun Korean Society of Horticultural Science 2015 원예과학기술지 Vol.33 No.3

This study identified a new male-sterile germplasm of Chinese jujube, named male-sterile No. 2 (JMS2), and achieved controlled hybridization using that germplasm as the female parent. The anthers of JMS2 before flower bud opening became shrunken, dingy yellow and much smaller than normal ones, and they changed to brown after anthesis. No pollen was observed in anthers of JMS2 and its male-sterile trait remained stable over different years. A total of 1,642 fruits were obtained from ten intra- and interspecific cross combinations via controlled hybridization from 2008 to 2012 using JMS2 as the female parent. Of those, 27.3% produced seeds, on average (0-72.6%). The rate of fruit with seed (RFS) was significantly different between cross combinations or years. Compared to other cross combinations, the RFS in the combination of JMS2 ${\times}$ 'Xingguang' (a Chinese jujube cultivar with high resistance to jujube witches' broom disease) and JMS2 ${\times}$ 'Xing16' (a sour jujube genotype) remained high in different years and reached means of 48.7 and 58.1%, respectively. Finally, 150 plantlets were regenerated from immature embryos, and 51 of them were randomly selected and identified to be authentic hybrids using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers. This is the first report of hybrids obtained from a cross between Chinese jujube and sour jujube.

Rich Se Nanoparticles Modified Mo-W18O49 as Enhanced Electrocatalyst for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

        Jun-hui Wang,Jia-Yao Tang,Jia-Yi Fan,Zeda Meng,Lei Zhu,오원춘 한국재료학회 2022 한국재료학회지 Vol.32 No.2

Herein a rich, Se-nanoparticle modified Mo-W18O49 nanocomposite as efficient hydrogen evolution reaction catalyst is reported via hydrothermal synthesized process. In this work, Na2SeSO3 solution and selenium powder are used as Se precursor material. The structure and composition of the nanocomposites are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), EDX spectrum analysis and the corresponding element mapping. The improved electrochemical properties are studied by current density, and EIS analysis. The as-prepared Se modified Mo-W18O49 synthesized via Na2SeSO3 is investigated by FE-SEM analysis and found to exhibit spherical particles combined with nanosheets. This special morphology effectively improves the charge separation and transfer efficiency, resulting in enhanced photoelectric behavior compared with that of pure Mo-W18O49. The nanomaterial obtained via Na2SeSO3 solution demonstrates a high HER activity and low overpotential of -0.34 V, allowing it to deliver a current density of 10 mA cm2.

Silica Nano-particle Anneal Treatment and Its Effect on Chemical Mechanical Polishing

        Junning Chen,Shibin Lu,Haibo Wang,Ying Meng,Feifei Wang,Min Fan 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.1

Introduction: Chemical mechanical polishing is the only one technology to obtain global planarization, which is widely applied to polish silicon, copper dual damascene structure, high/low K dielectric materials, tungsten plugs, poly-silicon gates and shallow trench isolation structure. SiO2 is widely used as abrasive for its superior properties like stability, suspension property and low viscosity There are lots of studies on silica properties. However, the detailed silica surface, inner characteristic and its effect on polishing performance are still unclear. we must also explore the silica nano-particle tiny structure difference, so we designed an experiment that we anneal the colloid silica and re-dispersed it to analyze the variety of particles properties and its influences on CMP performance. Materials: The water glass was purchased from the market. KOH (90%) and H2SO4 (98%) were purchased commercially from Shanghai Aladdin Bio-Chem technology Co., Ltd. All reagents were of analytical grade and used without further purification. Method: Diluted KOH or H2SO4 were added to 1 wt% annealed silica slurry to adjust pH value to 11.0. The slurry was milled in the polishing process. Arsenic doped 4 inch (100) silicon wafer was used to polish. The structural and morphological evolution of silica nano-particles induced by heat treatment are studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR), differential thermal (DTA) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), which disclose the external and internal structure.
