Reviewing survey research published in the Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management during the years 2010 – 2014, we highlight two areas where theory testing in global and cross-cultural fashion marketing would benefit from improvement. In particular, cross-sectional, single-source research designs and alternative explanations threaten the internal validity of the literature. Our aim is to discuss how a series of well-established survey preparation techniques and post hoc tests can overcome these threats and strengthen the findings stemming from global and cross-cultural fashion marketing research. At the core of our recommendations are recent advances in common method variance testing and covariate analysis. We discuss how these prescriptions can be used to advance theories related to large-scale global and cross-cultural fashion marketing research efforts.

3-Acetyl-5-benzoyl-6-methyl-2-phenyl-4H-pyran-4-one has been subjected to condensation with a series of primary amines (ethylamine – octylamine) to clarify the proposed mechanism in our previous study. The reactions of the shorter amines of the series (ethylamine – butylamine) yielded unsymmetric pyridinone products, whereas the other amines (pentylamine – octylamine) yielded symmetrical pyridinones. The starting material and the products as well as the intermediates have been subjected to theoretical analysis by quantum chemical calculations at B3LYP/6-31G(d,p)level, which provided supporting data for the experimental findings.

In this article, we deal with the uniqueness problems of meromorphic functions concerning differential polynomials and prove the following theorem. Let f and g be two nonconstant meromorphic functions, n ≥ 12 a positive integer. If f<sup>n</sup>(f<sup>3</sup> - 1)f′ and g<sup>n</sup>(g<sup>3</sup> - 1)g′ share (1, 2), f and g share ∞ IM, then f ≡ g. The results in this paper improve and generalize the results given by Meng (C. Meng, Uniqueness theorems for differential polynomials concerning fixed-point, Kyungpook Math. J. 48(2008), 25-35), I. Thambus planifrons Muona & Meng sp. nov. and Otho rutriclypeus Muona & Meng sp. nov. are described from China. Both genera are recorded for the first time from China. Except for the European T. friwaldszkyi Bonvouloir, 1871, and the Japanese T. curvicaria Hisamatsu, 1956, all other previously known species belonging to Otho were from the Americas. This study focuses on the role and value of big data marketing in shaping firm competitive advantages and transforming industries, with a particular focus on the film and television (FT) industry. We argue that big data may present myriad possibilities for firms to take hold of growth opportunities and improve their competitive advantages. We specifically explore the role and value of big data, and highlighting the effect of big data on driving firm marketing strategy and further illustrate the usefulness of big data in the FT industry through the cases of US House of Cards, Chinese Tiny Times, and Indian Satyamev Jayate. We provide a more comprehensive review of the big data, demonstrating the importance of exploiting big data marketing in the FT industry. We conclude with the possible practical implications.

The Macrophya formosana group is reviewed and six species are recognized from Europe and East Asia, among them two new species, M. brevispuralis Li, Liu & Wei sp. nov. and M. pseudoformosana Li, Liu &Wei sp. nov. from China, and four known species, M. crassula (Klug 1817), M. dolichogaster Wei & Ma, 1997, M. formosana Rohwer 1916 and M. liukiuana Takeuchi 1926. A key to all known species of the Macrophya formosana group is provided.
