Patients’Perception, Satisfaction and Expectations Towards the Role of Clinical Pharmacists in General Hospitals in China

        Madiha,Zhenji Jin,Jia-Qi LI,Changqing Yang 한국병원약사회 2016 병원약사회지 Vol.33 No.4

Purpose : Many developed countries have already accepted the indispensable role of clinical pharmacist (CP) in health care system. In past few years, Ministry of Health in China has also worked efficiently to regularize and implement clinical pharmacy services (CPSs). In our study, we opted to access the perception, satisfaction and expectation of patients towards the services provided by CP in hospitals in China. Method : The study was conducted in 10 general hospitals located in 8 different cities in China. Questionnaire was composed of four main parts: 1) Demographics of patients, 2) General awareness about CP, 3) Response regarding CP’s professional capabilities, 4) Satisfaction and expectations regarding different CPSs. The chi-test was performed to examine the statistical significance of association between independent variables and dependent variables. Results : Out of 350 distributed questionnaires, 289 were retrieved giving a response rate of 82%. Most of the respondents know about clinical pharmacist and 39.79% had experienced CPSs before. 75% believed that clinical pharmacist is a drug expert, whereas mostly all agreed that CP is an important member of health care team and should be encouraged to participate in patient therapy. More than 75% of respondents perceive that CP can improve quality and safety of treatment. Among those who had previously experienced CPSs, more than 75% showed satisfaction with CP providing individualized patient care, participating in ward rounds, taking medication history, providing drug information and counseling. And approximately 80% of the remaining, who never experienced, expects CP to execute these tasks except for performing physical examination. Conclusion : Most people in China understand, accept and encourage the role of CP in health care. As patients who experienced CPSs were less, it triggers the need of hiring more clinical pharmacist and allowing them to perform additional interactive roles, so that effective CPSs can be delivered to masses.

      • Economic Impact Assessment Model for Low Emission Zone

        Madiha Bencekri,Soonwook kweon,Gayoung Kang,Seungjae Lee 대한교통학회 2022 대한교통학회 학술대회지 Vol.87 No.-

The low Emission Zone (LEZ) policy is facing an efficacy issue, as many studies revealed a weak impact on air pollution and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. However, the LEZ policy has other co-benefits, that can enhance the policys economic viability. Therefore, this research bridges the gap by developing a comprehensive Economic Impact Assessment Model (EIAM) to quantify the LEZs co-benefits on four sectors: health, environment, transportation, and economy. The model serves as a strong tool to assess the economic viability of the policy and provide a reliable tool to decision-makers. For the first step, the co-benefits of the LEZ were calculated using Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) and wider impact theory. Data was produced using a traffic assignment model result as well as a stated preference survey. In the second step, the economic impact was measured using two different methods. First, the model estimated the contribution of the total co-benefit on increasing government savings. Second, the model measured the economic impact using the multiplier effect. Results showed a low environmental benefit that is equal to 49,743 USD, with a weak contribution of 0.07E-4% in government environmental spending. The total co-benefits contribution showed a weak contribution of 0.079% of total government spending in the four sectors. However, by exploiting the Keynesian multiplier effect theory, the LEZ policy showed a significant impact on the economy of about 44 million USD after one year of LEZ implementation, and 200 million USD after two years, which represents a big potential to stimulate the economy. The total co-benefits contribution showed a weak contribution of 0.079% of total government spending in the four sectors. Change Antecedents, Explicit Reactions and Consequences for Revolution and Evolution: A Case Study of Commercial Banks in Pakistan

Madiha SHAFIQ,Bilal Bin SAEED 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.5

The purpose of this study is to examine how change recipients react to change (affective commitment to change) and how change leads to positive consequences (job satisfaction) in Revolution and Evolution, taking into account the change content (perceived change impact), change context (change climate), and change process (participation in the change process). The present study uses a deductive approach with an exploratory research design. Data was collected from 254 employees of the head offices of three major banks, who have gone through Revolution, and 354 employees of the head offices, three banks who have gone through Evolution in the last five years. The hypothesized model is tested and analyzed through structural equation modeling using SmartPLS. The findings revealed that, in the case of Revolution, the presence of the favorable context and process might revert the negative perception of the change and lead towards explicit positive reactions (affective commitment to change) and change consequences (job satisfaction). In the case of Evolution, the change can be more effectively implemented using favorable context and process by achieving explicit positive reactions (affective commitment to change) and change consequences (job satisfaction).

      • Impact and post-impact of ring supports: Eigenfrequency response at nano-scale

        Madiha Ghamkhar,Mohamed A. Khadimallah,Muzamal Hussain,Abdelouahed Tounsi 국제구조공학회 2023 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.88 No.2

In this paper, frequencies of zigzag structure of carbon nanotubes is investigated based on Donnell shell theory. These tubes are wrapped with the ring supports in the axial direction. The fundamental frequency curves displayed in article show the dependence of vibrations attributes to zigzag single walled carbon nanotubes. Various zigzag indices are introduced against the variation of length to predict the vibration. Also, the influence of ring supports is sketched with proposed structure for frequency analysis. The frequencies of zigzag tube decreases as the length increases. It is observed that the frequencies decreases with ring support and have higher frequencies without ring. The problem is formulated using Partial Differential Equation. Three expressions of modal deformation displacement functions is used for the elimination of temporal variation to form the solution in the eigen from. For the stability of present study the results are compared with experimentally and numerically in the open text.

Foliage applied proline induces salt tolerance in chili genotypes by regulating photosynthetic attributes, ionic homeostasis, and antioxidant defense mechanisms

        Madiha Butt,Abdul Sattar,Tahira Abbas,Ahmad Sher,Muhammad Ijaz,Sami Ul-Allah,Muhammad Rashid Shaheen,Fawad Kaleem 한국원예학회 2020 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.61 No.4

Globally, soil salinity is a serious threat to horticultural crop productivity. Chili ( Capsicum annum L.) is a major spice horticulturalcrop. Its growth and production is severely aff ected by salt stress. To address this problem, a sand culture experimentwas conducted in which two contrasting chili genotypes ‘ Plahi ’ (salt tolerant) and ‘A-120’ (salt sensitive) were grown undersalt stress (50 mM NaCl) with foliar application of proline (0.8 mM). Proline application enhanced salt tolerance in bothgenotypes by osmoregulation of sodium and potassium. It enhanced chili growth and fruit yield by improving plant waterrelations and gas exchange attributes under salt stress. Antioxidants were increased with proline application under salt stress. There was also a signifi cant positive correlation found among glycinebetaine and proline contents. In conclusion, proteintreatedchili plants performed better than untreated plants as evidenced by normal function of photosynthetic machinery andantioxidant mechanisms under salt stress.

Biosorption of Cu(II) from aqueous solution onto immobilized Ficus religiosa branch powder in a fixed bed column: Breakthrough curves and mathematical modeling

        Madiha Tariq,Umar Farooq,Makshoof Athar,Muhammad Salman,Muqaddas Tariq 한국화학공학회 2019 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.36 No.1

We investigated the adsorption potential of powdered branches from Ficus religiosa, an abundantly available plant, for the removal of Cu(II) from aqueous solution via column studies. Biomass was used as silica immobilized form and characterized using available techniques, including Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Breakthrough curve approach was used to explain removal capacity of biomass in a continuous flow mode, using different operating parameters like bed height (5-30 cm), inlet metal concentration (100-300mg/L) and pH (3-5) of the solution, at a fixed flow rate of 2mL/min. Biosorption of Cu(II) favored with increased service time (breakthrough and exhaust time) of the column with an increase in pH of inlet solution. Maximum biosorption capacity (17.5mg/g) for Cu(II) was achieved at 5 cm bed height, pH 5 and 300 mg/L influent Cu(II) concentration. Findings suggested that Ficus religiosa branch powder takes less service time and thus triggers fast removal of metal ions. Bed depth service time (BDST), Thomas and Yoon-Nelson models were effectively applied to the breakthrough data. The study indicated that the immobilized powdered branches could be used for the effective removal of Cu(II) ions in a continuous flow mode.

Application of weighted average cardinality measure of intuitionistic fuzzy sets in ranking of intuitionistic fuzzy sets

Madiha Qayyum,Atiq Ur Rehman,Etienne E Kerre,Samina Ashraf 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2018 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.16 No.1

In this paper, we have explored different aspects of weighted average cardinality of finite intuitionistic fuzzy sets with aid of necessity and possibility operators. Also we have defined the concept of scalar valued relative sigma count of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, which in turn is utilized to define a ranking technique for intuitionistic fuzzy sets and the concept of intuitionistic fuzzy quantifiers.

      • Efficient Cluster Head Positioning with Adaptive Weight Function in Wireless Sensor Network

        Madiha Razzaq,Seokjoo Shin 한국통신학회 2019 한국통신학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2019 No.1

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of several wireless sensor nodes which have limited transmission power and processing capabilities. Clustering schemes are considered to be an energy-efficient technique to improve network lifetime. This paper proposes a scheme which considers K-means clustering in cluster formation phase to organize sensor nodes in the form of clusters in the network field. Once clusters are formed, CH selection process starts in which two weight functions are calculated for each cluster. These functions are compared to select a CH for particular round. Additionally, an adaptive weight factor is proposed in the paper to promote efficient CH placement in the cluster. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better CH placement and also supports scalability.

First-Principles Description of the Different Phases in the Li$_{2}$NH Compound: Electronic Structure and Optical Properties

        Madiha Makhdoom,Muhammad Imran Jamil,Sikander Azam,Muhammad Irfan,Zeesham Abbas,Banat Gul,Saleem Ayaz Khan,Xiaotian Wang 한국물리학회 2019 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.74 No.12

A hydrogen storage material can also be used as a potential and effective solid reducing agent in addition to its applications as an important energy carrier. The density function theory has been used to find the structural and optoelectronic properties of the Li$_{2}$NH compound. The exchange-correlation functional based GGA (generalized gradient approximation) is applied for calculating structural and optoelectronic properties. The expression for the formation is used to identify the stability, which is further confirmed by calculating the structural properties of Li$_{2}$NH. The calculations of the band structure show that a direct band gap is present between the occupied Li and N orbitals. A deep analysis of the optical properties was performed under incident photon radiation at energies up to 14 eV. Our calculated refractive index $n$(0) and the static part of the dielectric constant $\varepsilon_{2}$(0) are analogous to the experimental and other reported theoretical value.

      • Structural monitoring of layered FGM distribution ring support: Analysis with and without internal pressure

        Ghamkhar, Madiha,Harbaoui, Imene,Hussain, Muzamal,Ayed, Hamdi,Khadimallah, Mohamed A.,Alshoaibi, Adil Techno-Press 2022 Advances in nano research Vol.12 No.3

In this work, the vibrational frequency of two layered FGM cylindrical shell with and without the effects of internal pressure under ring support are discussed in detailed. The functionally graded materials of a cylindrical shell are designed for specific purpose and studied under various boundary conditions. The Love shell dynamical equations theory is utilized to find the relationship between the curvature displacement and strain displacement. Natural frequency vibrations are analyzed by using volume polynomial for bi-layered FGM shell under ring support both for with and without internal pressures.
